  • you are good sir! no matter how long it takes I'm going to master this.

  • @baharehut Thanks!!

  • @pianoglen thank YOU:)

  • I find your performance most delightful and wanted to thank you for your piano skills, study and generosity sharing your work with the u tube community. Best of lucks

  • @Marianofrv Thanks so much - I appreciate the comment!

  • Very nice performance, congratulations

  • @camilocuesta Thank you, camilocuesta!

  • I have the same edition :-)

  • Hey Pianoglen,

is there a chace you can put this video from the top so we can see the notes as you play them?

    Thanks,

    Gab

  • @damien4135 Thanks for watching. Unfortunately it's been a while since I posted this and I'll need to seriously brush up on the piece before I can re-record it from a different angle. I'll seriously consider this suggestion if that happens though.

  • This is incredible. I am only an intermediate piano player and struggle to make it through the simple aria. This is quite a feat! Do you think that an adult intermediate piano player could ever get to the level to play the GV?

  • Thanks for the comment, Hapworth16th! To answer your question, I definitely think it's possible, but I suppose it depends on how much time you can devote to learning it. But yeah, I don't see why it can't be done!

  • @Hapworth16th Absolutely it's possible! There will be mistakes while you learn, and you will seriously consider giving up. Just play when you feel like playing and take it slowly. Good luck. :)

  • Thanks for the great music, pianoglen! I am also a piano lover who is learning Goldberg Variations, for my own fun. I just finished Aria, Var.1, 5, 30 and now practicing 3 and 29. It's such a long way to accomplish all the 31 pieces, but your video is so encouraging, to see not a professinal player playing all the variations. From technical point of view, what's the top five difficult variation?

  • Thank you, fairyfeller2000! I think one answer to your question is that it depends on how fast you decide to play them. 26 can be very hard, but not too hard if you don't fly through it. That applies especially to every third variation beginning with #5. Thematically, I suppose #25 is tough. 12, 16, and 17 were tricky for me, as were others ... basically they're all hard! good luck!

  • good job, i really want to learn the golden berg varitations there fun to listen to and to play.

  • Thanks, ryab55! If you have the opportunity to learn them, I would definitely recommend it -- it's very rewarding.

  • tks for the links. Really must be a great placer to study the Variations... I did enjoy hearing you. TKS

  • Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Very nice!!! keep on playing...

  • Many thanks! I have been playing. I hope to post again at some point.

  • Hi pianoglen!! ^^

    I lob' this song

    u not have a tutorial???

    i really need one!!!! TT^TT

  • Thanks, BellaCullenBlack17!

  • Thank you!

  • Thats so wonderful....

  • Many thanks, Grubenpony12!

  • wow!! alll of the varations?!?! thats crazy! lol, i'm working on a SOME of them and it takes while to memorize them and everything. i'm doing 1,2,5,6,8,14,20,21,22 and the last one....jeez, how long did it take you to learn all of them ??! xD

  • Thanks, starfalco! And good luck with your own efforts. I recorded this after I'd been learning the variations for around two and a half years.

  • the new glenn gould

  • Thanks, johannsebastienbach -- I wish I could devote as much time as Gould did to playing Bach's music.

  • lol 0.34

  • Beautiful. There's still hope for humankind.

  • Thank you MartiniDoble!

  • wow thats really superb playing, though maybe your variations should be just that, and not as if it were intended to be one piece.

  • Thanks, GlennGould01!

  • pianoglen, that was incredible! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful piece played so wonderfully.

  • Thank you for the kind words, faraz1729!

  • so witch no' is the one from the movie... the terminal man... on the striping scene im going mad... i want it!!!

  • I haven't seen that movie, but according to IMDB, #25 is on that movie's soundtrack.

  • excellent, perfect, your talent is steaming out of you... tocas en alguna orquesta???

do you play in any orquestra???

  • Muchas gracias, mbuchacho! I do not play with an orchestra, but I would love to one day. I am not a professional -- I just really enjoy playing.

  • Absolutely amazing, especially the ending.

Your playing is so beautiful, I can't believe that you only have 7 comments...

  • Thanks so much, muffin0891!

  • No problem, when I have some more time I'm definitely going to check out your other videos.

    :)

  • very nice interpretation of these works!

    Aren`t they beautifull divine!

    To bad Bach is gone!

But he live`s through his musicallegacy!

  • Thanks, muldermavo! Bach is definitely someone I would like to meet, if I could go back in time.

  • i think it sounds very piano like and for an video posting a real wood piano would sound electronic on youtube anyway

  • Nice playing, very clean and precise. It's such a shame you play on that toy instrument!

  • Thank you, davebeeboss! Unfortunately the "toy" is all I can afford at the moment. But as toys go, I am very happy with the sound and feel of the FP-7.

  • Wow, you memorized the whole thing? That's quite a feat!

  • Thanks, slobone! It took me quite a while to memorize it.

  • really nice. ditto on the eight-minute+ spot, also the very last piece.

unrelatedly - you look just like a guy i used to know in high school. ;)

  • Thanks, manneK76! I like the last one too.

  • you are very welcome, pianoglen. that last piece, especially, sounds like a killer to even begin to master. very impressive.

  • Yo that was really good. I especially liked the fast part right around the eight-minute mark. Nice job.

  • Thanks hobokenmikey!
