And lastly, I'm getting really sick of these intolerant people on the left and right. On the left it's the radicals like Obama, on the right it's radical religious extremists. Until both of those fringes are neutralized, this sort of crap will continue. I'm a true conservative and libertarian, so I am for equal rights for every American citizen, including the right for gays to marry their partner. The intolerance of the religious right is what's causing it to take longer but it WILL happen soon.
You're an uninformed boob. THERE IS NO RIGHT OR LEFT! Those terms are made up. Libertarians know that only freedom of action on one's own property is protected other than freedom of religion, speech, press, and gun rights. INTOLERANT SPEECH IS PROTECTED BY THE CONSTITUTION AND A GOD GIVEN RIGHT. If you knew what the constitution said and meant and what real freedom was, then, you wouldn't make such self-contradictory statements. IF I CAN"T BE INTOLERANT-I AM NOT FREE!!!
@ChristianVoice08 - LOL, ya, keep tellin' yourself that, lol. Maybe you should go take an Intro to Political Science class at your local community college and learn a thing or two. In this country, we base our politics off the Constitution, not your, or anyone else's, hookie religion. Secondly, you can be as intolerant as you want, all you're doing is losing more and more support. Why do you think churches continue to lose more and more members? Duh!
Don't need to be indoctrinated by poli-sci when I was trained in American history, government, constitution and European history in high school then again in college. I don't need poli-sci to understand the US Constitution! And if you knew any history, you would know that the US Constitution is DIRECTLY BASED on the Magna Carta, British juris prudence AND THE BIBLE! The DOI states that our rights are derived FROM GOD and that was stated by MEMBERS OF MY CHRISTIAN THEISM, twit!
The level of ignorance and indoctrination of college students today is amazing. We had to quote the DOI and Bill of Rights IN GRAMMAR SCHOOL and you guys can't quote any of it in college let alone average a set of numbers in a statistics class YET have the gall to condemn us in some infantile arrogance and stupidity. How dare you spit in our faces when we have forgotten more than you were ever taught? Go back to the history of the Constitution & read some books for yourself
And for the record, I am clearly center in your faux little left-right paradigm as I AM CLEARLY MORE TOLERANT THAN YOU! I am willing to tolerate intolerance! That is real tolerance and real freedom. I render freedom to others that I may demand the protection of my freedom from them! Don't get it twisted, man.
The bottom line is, while Sorba is entitled to his free speech and its use for personal, political or religious purposes, so are the speeches of gays. So, you cannot whine and complain when gays use their free speech to make changes to the law, overturn discriminatory bans on marriage, etc. (as we've seen over the past month with an overturning of Prop 8 in California and a federal injunction barring the military from using DADT any longer.
No one has objected to that. However, as religion is free of government control and marriage is a religious institution, homosexuals can have a sham marriage if they can get a religion to acknowledge them BUT YOU CAN"T MAKE US ACCEPT IT! To force Christian churches to acknowledge homosexual marriage is a violation of the DOI, Constitution and its Bill of Rights. A libertarian should know the consitution.

@ChristianVoice08 - Just like gays don't have to accept your sham marriages either. How many times did Newt Gingrich cheat on his wives? What about Rush Limbaugh? Isn't he on #5 now? And what about you? Funny fact: 4 out of 5 evangelical divorcees believe marriage is sacred! Now THAT is funny!
False due to false comparison. Your conclusion is not relevant to your premises and does not follow from them. Adultery is a matter to be decided by the ecclesiastical body to which the married belong! As for non-Christians like those you mention, they would have been disciplined by their congregation if they were Christians & belonged to e genuine Christian assembly. Nothing to do with homosexuals not belonging to a religion extending them marriage rites!!! NO DICE!
@LibertyObserver You are the truly intolrant one here and the hypocrite. It's not about "less human" it's about "human potential." Are we all living up to our human potential? Probably not. But as we struggle to cultivate our own garden, spreading truth so others can do the same is part of that principle. We're all in this together, deserve and can do better for ourselves and for each other.
I say let him speak, it's more entertaining to watch him stumble, sweat and babble his way out of answering questions at the end. The best way to prove a point, is to let the other party make a full of themselves on camera in front of an audience. Sorba does this every time he opens his mouth at an event.
Not the events I have watched on YouTube. And if you are not suggesting he be allowed to speak because it is his God-give right to do so but merely because it is deemed entertaining, your screen name is right but your statement wrong. We allow others their freedom because we want to protect our own at ALL COST. Men have died protecting these unalienable rights of men. How dare we urinate on their graves in the name of "hate speech" prevention! All speech is protected OR NONE!
@ChristianVoice08 - Then you haven'r seen many Sorba videos because he makes a fool of himself in quite a few. watch?v=DkpVk1TA_sg is just one example and there are dozens more. I never said he should be allowed to speak. What I DID say is that he will be judged by his peers for what he says. Free speech does come with social and legal consequences… surely you're intelligent enough to understand that, right?
Actually, Mr. Sorba right to free speech was not denied. According to the constitution only government entities can deny the "freedom of speech". Second, Mr. Sorba was free to exercise his free speech rights, as he was doing so by his speech. What you want is to SUPPRESS an opinion that is contrary to yours. Plus if your such a champion of FREE SPEECH, then I'm sure that your support an anti gay bullying curriculum, since that can be considered free speech.
I am amazed at the ignorance of the Constitution in your post. The constitution says that freedom of speech and press SHALL NOT be infringed EVER BY ANYONE. There is NO proviso for government regulation of speech. Any government agent trying to infringe on this is commiting TREASON & violating their oath of office. Ryan was denied his free speech. Hence Harry Flint's case over his free press rights violations. I am for free speech as this video shows. Those women committed a crime!
ChristianVoice08: I wonder what a Christian leader or scholar, perhaps the reverend of your church, would say about this conversation and about your views of hate, discrimination, and intolerance. I ask you again to think about, in what way is it okay in your heart to tolerate hate? People have a right to organize events in the name of free speech, as the Smith republican club did. However, others have the right to drown out hateful speech with their voices.
FALSE! You traitor! If you violate someone else's right to free speech, YOU ARE A TRAITOR TO AMERICA! You are violating the US Constitution that protects your God-given rights. To deny ANYONE ANY RIGHT is to deny your rights! You are saying that YOU have no rights if you can deny another their right to speak and be heard.
I am a Christian minister. My statements are true! I have no time for the ignorant. And your insinuation that other Christians are intolerant is false.
This statement demonstrates that you cannot even understand the issue or this video. Had people who believed Blacks were second class citizens and should not be treated equal (same as those who believed that of women) had shouted down MLK Jr, where would we be? If we allowed them to violate his rights, blacks would not be treated equally under the law. Women would be 2nd class, too, if we allowed people to violate the freedom of speech and assembly. Intolerance like this sickens me
"We do not have the right to force people to love anyone!" It's not about the right to force to love. It's about aspiring to love. It's about kindness, common humanity, and compassion. It's about aspiring to live from those values everyday, toward all people.
"We do tolerate hate!" We should not. I don't know what you mean by tolerate. In what way in your heart do you tolerate hate? In what way is it okay with you?
1-NO, Salmon. IT IS ABOUT FORCE! Infringing on my freedom of speech because you don't like what I say is A CRIME! & yet the Hate speech bill still poses as law in the US.
2-You are intolerant then, if, you cannot tolerate my hate! HATE IS NOT INTOLERANCE! People HATE YOU, but, they tolerate you!!! Hate IS NOT A CRIME! You are arguing for the total loss of freedom which means when the pendulum swings our way, they will murder you and it will be OK!
It's never okay to "tolerate" hate and discrimination. You don't just tolerate all things for the sake of free speech, as if principles, ethics, and love do not exist. Hence, the action and life of MLK.
The only embarrassing thing is the UTTER STUPIDITY of YOUR claim! WE DO TOLERATE HATE! Whether we like it or not, WE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO FORCE PEOPLE TO LOVE ANYONE! God says to love everyone & you guys hate me! Then you accuse me of fostering hate. That is asinine! You can't tell people what to think or do! THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF INTOLERANCE! Are you so blind that you can't understand that MLK tolerated hate but FOUGHT CRIME and discrimination. Discrimination IS NOT HATE!
What is embarrassing is how you people can't think for yourselves! It is mind numbing to see colleges brainwash rather than encourage free thought. I was taught to think for myself. This video is a VALID & TRUE argument against the hateful intolerance of those lesbians denying the God-given & Constitutionally protected rights of Ryan Sorba. If you weren't so afraid of what he was saying, you wouldn't care. I don't fear your lies and propaganda. I can refute them. SPEAK FREELY!
OH, so you are an insulting sot! Only a liar or a fool calls someone who tells the truth a racist! You are again demonstrating that you hate God and you hate me for reminding you that He exists. Stop avoiding refutation. I answered all your false claims. DEAL WITH IT! I am not the one who is lying to myself or trying to convince myself that the sky isn't blue. You love yourself and hate God. Deal with it and leave me alone or continuing making excuses. Leave me out of it!
1-You know He exists or you wouldn't be fighting Him
2-I am not afraid of homosexuals at all. Some of my friends and family are homosexuals.
3-That is NOT JESUS! His god was satan according to his actual religious practices!
4-LIE! The Christians were murdered for hiding the Jews and opposing their extermination. I don't know what pathetic public school tried to educate you, but, you don't know squat about the holocaust.
As usual, when asked for studies proving the existence of a gene or even a genetic marker for homosexual behavior, the homosexual advocate begins screaming and has no answer. This is NOT an emotional issue. This is a truth versus lies issue and unless you have studies to support a claim against Ryan Sorba, you should not vilify him. You want to call him a liar, then, you have to prove him wrong. And, to that, I haven't seen any valid refutation of him yet.
How dare you compare the warped bigoted hate-filled speech of Bryan Sorba to Martin Luther King! Sorba has the spirituality of an ant compared to Dr. King. And while we're at it, so do you. Your side will lose this fight. Justice and right will prevail over your evil lies.
How dare you libel Mr. Sorba though his speech is not placed in this video? Just because someone differs in opinion from you and actually makes factual statements such as there is no gay gene according to modern science, does not make them a person of hate. Exposing lies does illicit a highly emotional response from liberals. But, that is emotion and opinion not fact. Please, provide evidence of your implied claim against Sorba. What hateful things does he say in the speech?
To verify my statements about the Ugandan bill that mentions homosexuals, you can read more at WIKIPEDIA. It is not a primary source but on this topic it seems true and correct.
The bill is hardly Anti-homosexuality when it does not particularly punish homosexuality UNLESS OF COURSE your definition of homosexuality includes sex with children, abuse of handicapped, intentionally spreading AIDS or sexual harassment...
It sickens me that a person uses King as a message to victimize Sorba, a man who believes in the punishment and execution of LGBT people. King's wife Coretta Scott King made her voice heard loud and clear that she supports, and if King was alive today would support marriage equality, the end of religion used as a shield to defend bigotry against LGBT, and the hate speech, misinformation and blatant lies the likes of people like Sorba enjoy spouting.
No one not even Sorba is using religion as a shield or advocating the death of homosexuals. If the majority were advocating that, there would be no living homosexuals in America. Get your facts straight you heterophobe!
@ChristianVoice08 Have you not seen his follow up questioner after CPAC? Hell were you even at CPAC when he went into his blood filled tirade against LGBT people. When ask recently Sorba agrees with the Uganda Bill that will imprison and execute LGBT. He as stated multiple times that "the word of god." The Uganda bill itself was created by 'OUR' own evangelicals churches. As a researcher for the APA I have my facts straight, its time people like you open your eyes to reality rather than shun it
@christianvoice08 but what really saddens me is that you use King as a form to support yourself, while King and his wife also supported gay marriage for LGBT couples. Perverting Kings image in such a way when you yourself seem to not even know that what happened at smiths college, was just one of the many types of protest king demanded our brothers and sisters to employ.
Provide a primary source for your claim that MLK supported gay marriage while claiming to be a Christian minister. Otherwise, that is a lie and more propaganda. All I get from homosex supporters are claims and propaganda. They never give me facts and primary sources. I wish they would. I am not afraid of the truth but those girls in the video above WERE afraid of the truth. You don't have to silence lies! Lies die in the face of truth. Only truth must be silenced to protect lies
That is patently FALSE. The Ugandans were raped by a homosexual royal who abused men. They knew it was a sin and suffered first hand at the hands of homosexuals. Afterward, they have done everything to prevent their being made victims by homosexuals again. There is nothing wrong with their protectionism. Enough blood was shed already by homosexuals in their country. Americans DID NOT draft that bill let alone evangelicals. BTW, "evangelical" IS NOT synonymous with Christian.
FURTHER, Your argument that claims the right to tell a sovereign nation what to do, IN FACT, then, says that we the majority could enact a law against homosexuals here. You see, you have not proven that homosexuality is right and hate is wrong. You need to prove that hate is wrong and homosexuality is right. Otherwise, we are not wrong to do WHATEVER WE WANT TO DO IF IT FEELS RIGHT TO US!!! So, according to you, we can ban homosexuality in America. Prove that hate is wrong NOW.
Further, if you were an open-minded seeker of truth and not a sheep believing any lie to support your world view, you would have read the Ugandan bill for yourself. It states that homosexuals can only be executed if they had pre-existing capital crimes such as knowingly spreading HIV, pedophilia, sexual coercion, etc. It was not a gay round up bill. I get so tired of the misinformed telling me that I am misinformed. Give me facts. TO HELL WITH ALL LIES AND THE FATHER OF LIES!
As I pointed out. You are just angry because Ryan tells the truth and the truth is inconvenient to the homosexual community. You have no evidence of your claims. Ryan is right. There is no gay gene. We decide on our own actions and are responsible and accountable for our actions. No excuses! God judges us based on our actions and the intent of our hearts. He is not fooled by homosexuals claims and rhetoric and neither are you.
My last comment on Uganda is that it is a sad day when "White Colonialism" has raised its ugly head. You are such a bigot to try and dictate the laws and behaviors of Africans IN THEIR OWN NATION! You racist hateful bigot.
@ChristianVoice08 if i have not addressed this, then why is it that the American evangelicals, including warren, and lively are have been singled out with other evangelicals for helping institute the kill gays bill of Uganda? Also Sorba has voice his support of this bill multiple times and he supports imprisonment and even execution of gay people. And for your information for many years evangelicals have voice support of imprisonment of gay people some still going as for as call for execution.
Uganda can punish her citizens however she likes. We are not allowed to interfere in the sovereignty of another nation. ARE YOU UGANDAN? Then don't tell them what to do. They know what homosexual crimes were commited against them and they will NEVER ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. As for Warren who IS NOT A CHRISTIAN, by definition and his own testimony, I cannot control his sinful behavior. Why does he consort with the Chinese government whose atrocities & right violations are known???
To make this argument work, you would have to have heard what Sorba would have said HAD HIS RIGHTS NOT BEEN VIOLATED BY THE STUDENTS! Since you never heard what he had to say, you cannot say that he would have lied. Nice try. But, give me facts. Sorba is hated because he presents facts.
According to Fransis Collins himself, "While we have not yet found a 'single' gene, the likelihood of a genes factoring into the cause of homosexuality is quite high"
As for a member of the American Psychological Association I can clearly debase your argument that homosexuality is a learned behavior.
For that to be true the children of gay parents would more likely be homosexual in adulthood, which is false.
Francis Collins is the leader in mapping the Human Genome.
THAT IS A CROCK. Biological determinism is a joke. THERE IS NO DNA FOR BEHAVIOR! You can't code behavior. Psychology 400, Learning Principles, BEHAVIOR IS LEARNED! It can be conditioned, but, that again is a learned behavior not biologically determined. If you had been a Bio major and later a Premed Psych major like me, you would know what the facts are. Also, you would know that homosexuals took over psychology and rewrote all our books to make homosex normal!
@ChristianVoice08 Another thing to consider is that there is no greater agenda out there than the christian agenda to enforce its moral platitudes on the rest of the secular united states, where as gay people simply want their rights to protect their families, their children, and their lives from the rampart bigots that infest our society and use religion as a shield for their bigotry. I dare you to go to the depfox families page here and tell them this.
LIE. If we were enforcing God's law on you, homosexuals would be in jail and not practicing their sins openly and shamelessly in America. We are being too tolerant and that has encouraged you to violate our rights! YOU ARE THE INTOLERANT ONES, THE BIGOTS AND HATERS. You hate us, God's Law and our society. You even hate yourselves.
@ChristianVoice08 finally Sorba has no facts what so ever to back up his bigotry. He uses nothing but moral platitudes, a misunderstanding of simply human anatomy, and a disgusting use of twisted philosophy to propagate is beliefs. He does not us relevant psychology or medical science, he doesn't even twist the words of Dr. Collins.
If you want facts then i suggest you to the APA, AMA, and ASA
Cofee396, YOU ARE INTOLERANT! YOU don't get it. You are saying that YOU can't tolerate our intolerance. If you want to be consistent, then, YOU HAVE TO TOLERATE our intolerance. Our intolerance DOES NOT KILL ANYONE. However, YOUR intolerance of us leads to abrogation of our rights, imprisonment of us and murder of us. YOURS is the intolerance. Our speaking against sin IS NOT INTOLERANCE. IT is FREEDOM!!!
This video shows how it would have been if people had believed the way you do 25 years ago. They would have prevented people from exercising their rights! Either we are all free to speak no matter what we say or not. Saying you hate crackers AIN'T killing me! Saying I should be killed, AIN'T killing me. As long as you don't attack me all it OK. We already have laws against inciting violence and assault! Wake up, Coffee. You are the intolerant one. You are afraid of free speech!
Letting a close minded person speak is, in a way, excepting what he's saying, we should always react to that kind of bigotry, it's necessary. As soon as these people talk, they deny other peoples rights to exist. Freedom of speech ? Yes, Freedom of hate speech ? No.
WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME??? How dare you call me closedminded just because I have a different opinion from you? You are the closedminded one if you think I have no right to my God-given right to speak my mind. That is worse than HATE, that is a criminal violation of the US Constitution. To deny someone their rights is theft and treason! How dare you, coffee? What if the majority of Americans voted to deprive you of your rights tomorrow. Should I support them and act like you? Deny your rights???
I wasn't talking about you, initially I was talking about Ryan Sorba, I'm just saying that when you attack a group of people with hate speech, you better be prepared for a reaction and that reaction is, for me, a good thing. Let me ask you something, what do you think about the westborow baptist church that goes around protesting with signs that say "god hates fags", is that freedom of speech ?
I agree with Sorba as I put forward his argument over 10 years ago. So, it is me under the gun, Coffee. Also, I have not heard Ryan say to hate anyone. You must first prove that his speech is hate speech then. Hate speech by definition would be any endorsement of HATRED or encouragement of hating a group of people. Disagreeing w/or calling people sinners isn't HATE speech, Coffee. God does hate homosexuality and anyone practicing it as He says that such acts are defiance of HIM. Truth not hate.
Now, I do agree with you on the verbiage, Coffee. As a Christian minister, I am NOT endorsing the use of defamatory terms or slang like f-g by "professing" Christians. I have counseled and shared the Good News of Jesus with many homosexuals. ALL OF THEM knew that I loved them & was trying to help them with their battle. I do not agree with being hurtful with the truth. Though they have the right to carry those signs, they should be more respectful of people. But, they have the right.
@ChristianVoice08 With what battle? If you are talking about our battle for equal rights, that is more like a war. If you are talking about a battle without ourselves to accept the fact that we are born gay and nothing can change that and we as a people need to accept that, then I say "why thank you." However Hate speech is Hate speech and Sorba reeks worse than a busted septic tank. Should we down him out, depends. He supports the execution of LGBT people so you be the judge on that one.
1. You don't have any right to any right I don't have!
2. This is not about equal rights!
3. Marriage is a RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION and therefore CANNOT be infringed upon by the state. Not only can a gay enter into a farce of a "so-called" marriage, but the state CANNOT MANDATE ANYTHING ABOUT MARRIAGE let alone who can get married.
4. Telling you that homosexuality is wrong and that homosexuals are going to hell IS NOT HATE SPEECH. I have NOT heard any hate from Sorba.
You have ALL THE RIGHTS GIVEN BY GOD ALREADY! God granted us our rights and the US Constitution helps guarantee those rights. God DOES NOT GRANT MARRIAGE TO HOMOSEXUALS. So, you have a real problem making any claim to be able to marry. ALSO, YOU CANNOT FORCE YOURSELVES ON US! That is not a right. If I got in your face and yelled at you that you had to repent NOW and stop sinning NOW, you would freak out. I don't force you to accept God & you can't force me to accept your sin!
You call it hate speech because the arguments that he makes (which I made long before him) refute your lies about grounds for and the legitimacy of homosexual behavior. You can't claim you are fighting a war for rights when you already have full rights from God. YOU ARE DEMANDING SUPER-RIGHTS NOT GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS! You have the same rights as me, DEAL WITH IT. ANYTHING BEYOND THOSE IS FASCISM!
LASTLY, Provide a video of him demanding the execution of homosexuals. I had not heard that one, LOL! Also, you have NOT REFUTED THIS VIDEO! Those girls violated Sorba's GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS. They accordingly FORFEITED THEIR RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH. NO ONE RIGHTS CAN SUPERCEDE OR INTERFERE WITH ANYONE ELSE'S RIGHTS! The Majority CANNOT oppress the minority & the minority CANNOT oppress the majority. EQUALITY UNDER GOD & THE LAW!
@coffee396 ...@LuckyBlueEyez ....Homofascists shouting down a speaker whose reasoned argument and evidence would disturb their perversion cult community, probably freeing some from it.
Homofascists need to censor others, and have been allowed to, for now. Behavioral evidence that calls to mind the line from 'A Few Good Men': "You can't handle the truth."
Read Lively and Abrahams's 'The Pink Swastika', well-evidenced history and analysis of the homosexual movement.
Think of it this way - if lesbians were having a meeting, and "homophobes" start jumping around screaming "we're straight! we're here! get used to it!" those cops would have bludgeoned us and bludgeoned us really good and we'd be treated worse than baby-killers by the media.
i see your point but uhm choosing to use Martin Luther's i have a dream speech ruins your msg or point the college students were not silencing a speech for equality but hate and you portrayed it in this vid as if they did it to a speech that was of good and not hate so yeah you should probably use a different speech next time to get your point across in the least offensive way
No, Quincy. You didn't see the whole point. The point is that many wanted MLK silenced. His speech was against the KKK & other organizations. Had they venemously violated his speech which they found equally offensive, they would have been as wrong as those women at Smith, BUT, just as selfrighteous in their justification of their own actions. MLK did not call for the prevention of free speech for the KKK nor did the KKK. So, how do these criminals excuse themselves, honestly, constitutionally???
False. SHUTTING SOMEONE DOWN IS A CRIME WORSE THAN A FELONY! Violations of the US Constitution are treasonous acts! All laws derive their authority from the Constitution. TO violate the Constitution is to demonstrate that you are an enemy of WE THE PEOPLE. You cannot justify their crime!
What if I replace King's eloquent speech in this video with one of Stalin's or Hitler's.
WHAT IF someone had shut them up before they became a problem.
Besides, your argument is a logic fallacy. People have the right to say -what-ever they want in your country (with few exceptions), but they do not have the right to say it -where-ever they want. The college has the ultimate right to decide who speaks within their walls; regardless of reason.
Neither was a counter position. Though Hitler started outside the limelight, his rise to power was supported by legitimate parties in politics. Stalin was tantamount to a plant hijacking AGAIN a popular government movement that turned into revolt by the people. NEITHER was in a "free" country with Constitutional protection of their GOD-GIVEN right to free speech, life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness.
the man was invited to our campus by a group that knew exactly what they were doing - they knew tempers would flare, they knew it was to insinuate a good majority of our campus.
free speech? the students who protested the way the did are entitled just as much to protest as he was to speak.
had the group on campus chose someone more respectable, someone with an ounce of intelligence, we would have listened. instead, they chose someone who would cause a big fuss on campus.
Freedom of speech is scpecifically the willingness not to refrain from speech due to pressure or general consensus against speech. Further, Sorba DID NOT violate anyone's constitutional right to free speech. The crowd DID violate Sorba's civil rights.
Also, as you brought it up by insulting him, I must point out. Again you are attacking the character of Sorba without answering his arguments. I have not found any lies or contradictions in his arguments. That appears to be why Sorba is hated.
Silence is a form of activism. If you remain silent when someone bashes homosexuality or mutters a racial slur, you are silently accepting their behavior. So whether these Smith women provided a screaming protest or reasoned debate, they had the right to open their mouths and show they did not approve.
VIOLATION OF THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS IS A WAIVING OF ONE'S OWN RIGHTS! You cannot take away my freedom of speech in the name of freedom of speech. THE ONLY LIMIT ON OUR CIVIL RIGHTS IS THE INFRINGEMENT ON THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS. We are supposed to be free to do ANYTHING in this country so long as it does not prevent or interfere with anyone else being able to do the same.
Oh that there were Americans left in the US and not liberal sociallists drinking their $6 coffee while speaking of the poor...
Your last sentence is not even worth commenting on, but I WISH I could get a 6 dollar cup of coffee.
Oh to have ONE right winger that made sense and knew why America was built and what it stands for -
Smith College is NOT a place to have this speech. As liberal as it is, as pro-gay as it is, they only reason he was invited there was to cause trouble. And that he did. Bigot. (him, not you.)
Good evidence that I am right. If you're brainwashed, you don't know it usually. I am not brainwashed as I can critically evaluate and judge my own world view as well as others. I hold to logic and evidence and do not really merely on what I am told by someone. I think for myself, JJ.
It is sad that the Flower children hippies that force fed my generation the Constitution and Bill of Rights, immediately began hiding those documents from you all as soon as they were in power.
Fight the real establishment. Demand truth and accountability in government. Quit protesting gay issues and fight for your constitutional rights which are nearly all gone. That is the travesty of this age, that a little bit of sin allowed will trick you into signing away all your God given rights.
I guess it shouldn't surprise me though. Esau gave up his whole inheritance because he was hungry. But that is the devil's barter, an inheritance for a pot of vegetable stew. He never trades fair.
Don't give up your civil rights for some sex, gay or hetero. Stand up for your rights and the Constitution that protects them. And turn to God Who gave you those rights. Don't miss out on real life just because your craving is gnawing at your stomach. Don't be satisfied with stew...
The Patriot act is treasonous and violates the foundations of the constitution and the Bill of Rights. It should be repealed as it honestly is unenforcible under the Constitution.
Either all speech is protected as free or there is no such thing as free speech. Free speech requires tolerance. Read the bill of rights. It does not stipulate any restriction on freedom of speech. Even the false argument of yelling "fire' in a theater is not applicable to speech expressing views.
Even speech against the US Government is specifically and intentionally protected by the Constitution to protect the people from being oppressed by their own government.
The man was entitled to his opinion. Ironic that so many gay rights activists talk about intolerance yet they cannot accept anybody having a view that gays should not have equal rights with heterosexual couples.
RIGHT ON, Memento. All free or none free!!! Hate speech is the burden of free speech, a burden borne easily by those who love freedom!
You cannot limit speech and have free speech. However, we DO hold people accountable for what they say, libel, slander, inciting riots. However, labelling speech as hate does not mean that differing opinions lead to injury.
If someone hurts your feelings by being rude, grow up and get over it. It's not a real injury! Assault is a crime not bad manners.
Although I cannot agree with you, Christian, om the religious founding of our country, or your choice of MLK in this video, or this hateful man's message - I do agree that this man was invited, and should not have had this happen to him. Th police were negligent in their duties, and the women clearly broke the law.
JMD, you are merely hoping to catch me in a single error so that you can deny these arguments. I assure you that you will find me in error on some fact or statement given enough time. I am IMPERFECT and capable of error.
But this annoying attempt and harassment of yours is just an extended ad hominem attack. Therefore, it is fallacious on its face. I'll help you. The square root of 549384 is 7.
Now, show how that is relevant to any argument that I have posted.
So, we don't have to leaglly acknowledge gay marriage. Marriage is a religious institution which is supposed to be outside of government control. Unfortunately, they have not overturned the unconstitutional federal marriage act of 1927. Else we would have no law over marriage at all. We are VERY tolerant here and don't need laws to tell is to live together.
"Freedom from tyranny even the tyranny our fellow citizens."
Do you truly believe this? Then you should allow gays to marry. It's none of your business what they do. No church will ever be forced to perform marriages against their will. There are plenty of JP's and other churches that will, they don't need yours.
It's the tyranny against gay people that started the protest. So maybe we do agree on one point tyranny must be fought. Unfortunately your the tyrants.
No! Two guys can be partners at any time and make vows to eachother at any time. But, we do not have an obligation to accept that when doing so violates our religion. Duh. We also have freedom of religion here. The STATE cannot make us accept things that violate our religious beliefs. Still, no one is stopping two guys from living together or doing whatever they want to do IN THEIR OWN PRIVATE HOME. That's freedom.
But what about the churches that will perform this ceremony, without bigotry? That doesn't force you to accept anything. Separate but equal is NOT equal.
In order for a someone to open the congress with a prayer to a false god, the people would have to vote to ammend the constitution or the Congress would have to try and do the same. However, we, the PEOPLE, were born of the PEOPLE who said that our rights were given us by YAHWEH, Jesus, and not some idol, cosmic force, tree or spirit of a dolphin. Freedom is freedom. Can't you understand that? Freedom from oppression, freedom of life. Freedom from tyranny even the tyranny our fellow citizens.
Congress was not yet open as that was the intention of the prayer, to open congress. The Hindu was invited there to say a quick prayer not address the assembly. So your response does not apply.
Again you are ignorant of your own constitution. (No Surprise) Third time I'm asking, Where does it mention Christianity in the Constitution?
If you actually knew your constitution you would know that it doesn't. So you are either ignorant or a liar.
I look like a fool for referring to political systems that claim to be for the people but in actuality suppress civil rights? I know what they are. I see no evidence that you do.
The only restriction to freee speech is self imposed. You are responsible for what you say. If you incite a riot or incite a murder, you will be tried for being a conspirator. But, it is worth it. We will soon lose our freedom of speech just like you guys lost it. But until then, I''m American true blue. You can incult me and I will fight to protect your right to do it. THAT IS TOLERANCE. Censorship of ANY KIND is INTOLOERANCE!!!!
He won't respond to the constitutional question because he is wrong. The US Constitution only refers to religion and God in one instance - No test of religious faith in order to hold office.
Please, read a book on American Government - back at ya, Chris. If the Founding Fathers were around today, they'd be out of their minds with grief, all the while saying -"this is NOT what we meant!"
I don't exactly follow this. But, Your claim is wrong. You must take the Constitution in context WITH the Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence and the other papers published by the founding fathers.
They demanded Christian monotheism and based the law on the Judeo-Christian ethic that flows from that.
I don't know where you get your claims from, but, you don't know much about who was living here and who built the country.
I must answer this in am e-mail, for this comment system is the bane of my youtube existence. Unlike the first e-mail I sent, do you think you might spare a moment to answer it? Maybe?
Quote me one passage in the Constitution that say's you are one nation under God.
Actually the US has less freedoms than many other industrialized countries. We have more freedoms here than you do but we can't hold a candle to some of the European countries. I guess we've been polluted by US culture.
Ware "One Nation Under God" in our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence. It is a treasonous act to have a Hindu or anyone else open a session of Congress by praying to any false god. Further, freedom of speech DOES NOT apply to sessions of congress. You cannot say anything you want in Congress AND you are limited in the time you have to speak. You don't understand the freedom that our country established. We had more freedom here than any other country since Israel.
FYI: Same sex marriage has been legal here for years. Family life didn't breakdown, We haven't had any earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, locusts, etc.
On top of that our economy is doing better than yours.
Since the US regularly has most of those things and your economy is in the tubes. Maybe God likes Gays and is punishing you for persecuting them.
PS We just finished up gay pride week here last month and I took the family down to see the parade. It was a real hoot. Lot's of good cheer.
I find this just incredible. Your complaining that a man about to give a speech denying people their rights was denied his rights by people supporting the rights of the people he was about to denounce.
So he was denied his rights to deny other people theirs?
There's just something very hypocritical there.
Then you compare this man to MLK? MLK who championed rights for all. You don't see the contradiction here?
There are limits to free speech. Those who promote hatred against others can be arrested in my country. It's called hate speech and is considered a hate crime and as such comes with a penalty.
If only Hitler and Mussolini had received such a welcome when giving speeches denouncing Jews.
I say if your intent is to deny others their basic human rights then you should be shouted down. We should have shouted down Hitler & Mussolini & Slobodan Milošević.
If you are intolerant, you give up the right to be tolerated. According to your flawed logic, we must always meet violence with violence. According to you, we should have bombed Russia to stop their agression. In which case, we wouldn't be here. Please, stay in Canada. We don't want NAZI fascism in America.
Too late. It's there already. To find it all you have to do is look in a mirror.
Next time you go to church look out at the faces of all the zealots sitting in the pews with their arms up in the air.
All secure in the great destiny of the US. That they are God's chosen to lead the world. That it is their duty to foil the homosexual conspiracy that threatens to destroy them.
Now substitute Germany for US and Jew for Homosexual.
Also, you couldn't shout down Hitler according to your doctrine which Hitler employed. Hitler had all the guns and made all the rules because he said that certain people didn't deserve rights. That's fascism for you, only one voice, his who is the most powerful.
Hitler didn't start out having all the guns. If he'd been shouted down before he took power history would have been much different.
That's why we have to shout down intolerant bigots like you lot. Expose them for the ignorant fools they really are. While they are still weak and powerless before they can seize power and take away our rights at the end of a gun.
It's ludicrous your talking about Nazism & fascism when your striving for a totalitarian theocracy.
This video is spot on. A Christian basher cannot tell a Christian to tolerant his opinions and views if he's going to turn around and do the opposite to him.
Thanks for Speaking out, too, Rawk. I don't know who thumbed you, but, smart money is on an atheist I ticked off, lol. I just gave you a thumbs up. So, you're back on a level field. I hope to have more videos posted soon that you can weigh in on.
As a christian and a smithie who was at the lecture/protest, I'm embarrassed by the situation, and some comments from both sides.
Sorba was a guest at Smith. While his message was understandably unpopular and even offensive, he was still an invited guest. Smith, day to day, is an accepting and supportive place. A protest that was not only non-violent but also respectful of Sorba as a guest would have better reflected Smith and put the protesters' message in a better light.
That was the point I was trying to make, though not as succinctly as you have. Everyone has the right to be heard regardless of their message. I am delighted to see that there are Smithies that are tolerant.
I disagree. Speech promoting hatred and violence against groups and individuals does not have the right to be heard and should be considered a crime.
Again I'm amazed at the hypocrisy here. You are upset that a group promoting human rights has denied you the right to deny another group their human rights.
Were you born this evil or do you have to works at it?
I am not evil. America has offered real freedom to people unlike any country since ancient Israel. Further, the founding fathers of USA admitted that only a CHristian country could handle this much freedom. And it has proven out as America has left her God. Still free speech means you can say anything. The opposite is UNTHINKABLE. If someone gets to review and apprve what constitutes free speech, it ain't free speech. We are MORE tolerant than anyone because we allow anything to be said!
"Real freedom unlike any country" and you know this how?Have you ever even been to Europe?
Ancient Israel Free! Have you even read the old testament? There's laws in there that say you can't wear two different kinds of cloth at the same time. That's just an example.
Here's some free speech. I think you are an ignorant, intolerant, bigot. You are the stereotypical ignorant American that gives the US a bad name. The better of your countrymen are ashamed of you.
By the way, if you "loved" Ryan, you would tolerate his opinion. If you were tolerant as you expect us to be, you would tolerate Ryan's opinion. Tolerance is not acceptance, it is putting up with differences. You guys were intolerant of Ryan and the others there. Why should we tolerate you and your behavior when you are intolerant toward us?
I don't love Ryan. I don't know where you got that idea. We did "tolerate" his opinion until it escalated into the same bullshit hate speech that we'd already seen him deliver on YouTube, and yes, then we got angry. We originally planned to have a silent protest and ask him questions at the end, but after he derisively said, "Ok, you can turn your chairs around now!" and started quoting lying statistics that defamed our community, we protested in a verbal way.
That didn't give you the "zuber-right" to take away his rights. He can say anything he wants. He doesn't even bring up the hard statistics from medical doctors that don't care about the issue. Like the extremely high recurrent infection rates in homosexual males, over 90% two infections STDs. The CDC and local health departments have a lot of stats and they don't have it all due to gays not wanting to report their orientation. Even if he brought out a lie, its his right as it is yours to speak.
"zuber-right"? Are you comparing us to Nazis now? That's not ridiculous / offensive at all! I can't seem to recall us ever throwing him into a paddy wagon [or touching him at all] and sending him off to a ghetto before working him until he's skin and bones and then gassing him to death.
a.) Show me your stats / clarify your point.
b.) Of course he has the right to speak. And we have the right to protest him.
Not at all, as I reference Neitzhe and other philosopher, I like the German word there as it sound more cool than plain english. I felt it conveyed a greater meaning of superiority.
As for the book, I will have to search for the title. It was a book written by a virologist that worked or ha access to the CDC, I believe. I read most of it one afternoon in B&N but couldn't afford to buy it. So, I'll look it.
B) you still don't have to right to interfere in his rights, my dear.
Jah, aber ubermensch ist uberman in deutsch. Es ist der gleich wort oder der gleich bedeutung. Ich wisse das buch aber benutzene der wort nicht das buch.
Forgive me if my masculine and feminine articles are incorrect. As I said, its been a long time since german class.
If I ever go into your church and start giving an unfounded speech about how you're a bunch of disgusting twisted pedophiles, feel free to get upset and join together in non-violent protest to oppose me. I'm fine with that. The difference is that homophobes go out of their way to attack gay people in the streets, discriminate against us at work and in housing, and pass laws against our civil rights. When you have to fear for your life walking down the street with your significant other [cont]
Ryan was invited. If you guys hadn't come, no one could have claimed to be offended as they were going to hear his lecture.
If you are referring to Catholics and their priests, that's not true Christianity. They claim you have to work fr salvation. That's not Gospel. And, you should address the pedophile issue directly with the homosexuals and the few heterosexuals that are doing it. Not me.
HOWEVER, you are welcome to visit any Christian church.
I wasn't referring specifically to Catholics - I was using the same rhetoric thrown at gay people and applying it in that context. Of course it doesn't make sense in either context [unless I was talking about specific Catholic priests, I suppose..].
The "few" heterosexuals who are doing it? Where do you get your statistics?
When you have to fear for your life walking down the street with your significant other, then you will understand the true meaning of "intolerance". Until then, you have the privilege. What it all boils down to is, I am intolerant of intolerance.
We already have to be careful walking down the streets. If gays are letting people bash them, they're wrong. They need to make the cops do their job. And do like the rest of us, "Don't go out in bad neighborhoods late at night".
BUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LAWS YOU GUYS BROKE AND YOUR VIOLATION OF HIS RIGHTS. If you got beat up tomorrow, you don't get a free pass to violate my rights. You have to acknowledge and honor my rights to have your rights guaranteed. Don't change the subject.
MY POINT was, there is an extremely different power dynamic between being gay and RESPONDING to intolerance and having to be the victim of that intolerance and between being a part of the group of people with privilege who perpetuate that intolerance.
Also, way to crazily victim-blame - "If gays are letting people bash them". Wow. I'm sure gay people just "let" it happen. And it happens everywhere.
Look at the comment thread in it's entirety, some reason Youtube doesn't place the threads in context all the time. It's in response to this comment- We already have to be careful walking down the streets. If gays are letting people bash them, they're wrong. They need to make the cops do their job. And do like the rest of us, "Don't go out in bad neighborhoods late at night".
False or sinful churches that deny the faith are not the subject of this video. This video is about the intolerance of people who want our continued tolerance. It's about the fact that if such intolerance had been shown to MLK, the civil rights movement would never have succeeded due to the very means used by those intolerant students.

@LibertyObserver
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08 - LOL, ya, keep tellin' yourself that, lol. Maybe you should go take an Intro to Political Science class at your local community college and learn a thing or two. In this country, we base our politics off the Constitution, not your, or anyone else's, hookie religion. Secondly, you can be as intolerant as you want, all you're doing is losing more and more support. Why do you think churches continue to lose more and more members? Duh!

@LibertyObserver
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@LibertyObserver

LibertyObserver 1 year ago
@LibertyObserver

LibertyObserver 1 year ago

LibertyObserver 1 year ago
@LibertyObserver
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08 - Then you haven'r seen many Sorba videos because he makes a fool of himself in quite a few. watch?v=DkpVk1TA_sg is just one example and there are dozens more. I never said he should be allowed to speak. What I DID say is that he will be judged by his peers for what he says. Free speech does come with social and legal consequences… surely you're intelligent enough to understand that, right?
LibertyObserver 1 year ago
Actually, Mr. Sorba right to free speech was not denied. According to the constitution only government entities can deny the "freedom of speech". Second, Mr. Sorba was free to exercise his free speech rights, as he was doing so by his speech. What you want is to SUPPRESS an opinion that is contrary to yours. Plus if your such a champion of FREE SPEECH, then I'm sure that your support an anti gay bullying curriculum, since that can be considered free speech.
JiC87 1 year ago
@JiC87

However, others have the right to drown out hateful speech with their voices.
salmonroses 1 year ago
@salmonroses
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@salmonroses
Intolerance like this sickens me
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
"We do not have the right to force people to love anyone!" It's not about the right to force to love. It's about aspiring to love. It's about kindness, common humanity, and compassion. It's about aspiring to live from those values everyday, toward all people.
"We do tolerate hate!" We should not. I don't know what you mean by tolerate. In what way in your heart do you tolerate hate? In what way is it okay with you?
"Discrimination is not hate!" I disagree.
salmonroses 1 year ago
@salmonroses
3-Disagreement is NOT a proof!
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
To ChristianVoice08:
It's never okay to "tolerate" hate and discrimination. You don't just tolerate all things for the sake of free speech, as if principles, ethics, and love do not exist. Hence, the action and life of MLK.
This is an embarrassingly dumb video.
salmonroses 1 year ago
@salmonroses
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@salmonroses

Deal with it and leave me alone or continuing making excuses. Leave me out of it!

@ChristianVoice08 I will bring the 3 arguments to this 1 page.
1) How can I hate what does not exists?
2) I only hate you for your Homofobic and Anri-atheist views.
3) About Hitler, he said himself to the Pope (in person) that he was doing "Gods" work, and the Pope agreed with him.
4) Yes, 1.5 Christians where killed for every Jew, but that's because they where soldiers fighting against them, not inocent civilianze.
Lastly, I will belive in God if, you bring be irrefutable prouf.
dave19941000 1 year ago
@dave19941000
All these are bull and you have no argument!
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
As usual, when asked for studies proving the existence of a gene or even a genetic marker for homosexual behavior, the homosexual advocate begins screaming and has no answer. This is NOT an emotional issue. This is a truth versus lies issue and unless you have studies to support a claim against Ryan Sorba, you should not vilify him. You want to call him a liar, then, you have to prove him wrong. And, to that, I haven't seen any valid refutation of him yet.
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
How dare you compare the warped bigoted hate-filled speech of Bryan Sorba to Martin Luther King! Sorba has the spirituality of an ant compared to Dr. King. And while we're at it, so do you. Your side will lose this fight. Justice and right will prevail over your evil lies.
freerangebiped 1 year ago
@freerangebiped

Read wikipedia Uganda_Anti-Homosexuality_Bill
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
To verify my statements about the Ugandan bill that mentions homosexuals, you can read more at WIKIPEDIA. It is not a primary source but on this topic it seems true and correct.
The bill is hardly Anti-homosexuality when it does not particularly punish homosexuality UNLESS OF COURSE your definition of homosexuality includes sex with children, abuse of handicapped, intentionally spreading AIDS or sexual harassment...
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
It sickens me that a person uses King as a message to victimize Sorba, a man who believes in the punishment and execution of LGBT people. King's wife Coretta Scott King made her voice heard loud and clear that she supports, and if King was alive today would support marriage equality, the end of religion used as a shield to defend bigotry against LGBT, and the hate speech, misinformation and blatant lies the likes of people like Sorba enjoy spouting.
darkwolfx333 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
No one not even Sorba is using religion as a shield or advocating the death of homosexuals. If the majority were advocating that, there would be no living homosexuals in America. Get your facts straight you heterophobe!
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08 Have you not seen his follow up questioner after CPAC? Hell were you even at CPAC when he went into his blood filled tirade against LGBT people. When ask recently Sorba agrees with the Uganda Bill that will imprison and execute LGBT. He as stated multiple times that "the word of god." The Uganda bill itself was created by 'OUR' own evangelicals churches. As a researcher for the APA I have my facts straight, its time people like you open your eyes to reality rather than shun it
darkwolfx333 1 year ago
@christianvoice08 but what really saddens me is that you use King as a form to support yourself, while King and his wife also supported gay marriage for LGBT couples. Perverting Kings image in such a way when you yourself seem to not even know that what happened at smiths college, was just one of the many types of protest king demanded our brothers and sisters to employ.
darkwolfx333 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08 LIES! ALL LIES!
freerangebiped 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333

@darkwolfx333
My last comment on Uganda is that it is a sad day when "White Colonialism" has raised its ugly head. You are such a bigot to try and dictate the laws and behaviors of Africans IN THEIR OWN NATION! You racist hateful bigot.
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08 if i have not addressed this, then why is it that the American evangelicals, including warren, and lively are have been singled out with other evangelicals for helping institute the kill gays bill of Uganda? Also Sorba has voice his support of this bill multiple times and he supports imprisonment and even execution of gay people. And for your information for many years evangelicals have voice support of imprisonment of gay people some still going as for as call for execution.
darkwolfx333 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
1. THERE IS NO GAY GENE
2. HOMOSEX IS A LEARNED BEHAVIOR
3. HOMOSEXUALS CAN BE KETEROSEXUAL
4. HETERSEX IS THE NORM!
5. SPEECH AGAINST AN AGENDA IS NOT HATE SPEECH
Hate speech says, "I hate..."
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08
Francis Collins is the leader in mapping the Human Genome.
darkwolfx333 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08 Another thing to consider is that there is no greater agenda out there than the christian agenda to enforce its moral platitudes on the rest of the secular united states, where as gay people simply want their rights to protect their families, their children, and their lives from the rampart bigots that infest our society and use religion as a shield for their bigotry. I dare you to go to the depfox families page here and tell them this.
darkwolfx333 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@ChristianVoice08 finally Sorba has no facts what so ever to back up his bigotry. He uses nothing but moral platitudes, a misunderstanding of simply human anatomy, and a disgusting use of twisted philosophy to propagate is beliefs. He does not us relevant psychology or medical science, he doesn't even twist the words of Dr. Collins.
If you want facts then i suggest you to the APA, AMA, and ASA

You people don't get it. Intolerance and hate speech should never be accepted, that Nazi piece of shit Ryan Sorba should shut his mouth.
coffee396 2 years ago
Cofee396, YOU ARE INTOLERANT! YOU don't get it. You are saying that YOU can't tolerate our intolerance. If you want to be consistent, then, YOU HAVE TO TOLERATE our intolerance. Our intolerance DOES NOT KILL ANYONE. However, YOUR intolerance of us leads to abrogation of our rights, imprisonment of us and murder of us. YOURS is the intolerance. Our speaking against sin IS NOT INTOLERANCE. IT is FREEDOM!!!
ChristianVoice08 2 years ago
This video shows how it would have been if people had believed the way you do 25 years ago. They would have prevented people from exercising their rights! Either we are all free to speak no matter what we say or not. Saying you hate crackers AIN'T killing me! Saying I should be killed, AIN'T killing me. As long as you don't attack me all it OK. We already have laws against inciting violence and assault! Wake up, Coffee. You are the intolerant one. You are afraid of free speech!
ChristianVoice08 2 years ago
Letting a close minded person speak is, in a way, excepting what he's saying, we should always react to that kind of bigotry, it's necessary. As soon as these people talk, they deny other peoples rights to exist. Freedom of speech ? Yes, Freedom of hate speech ? No.
coffee396 2 years ago
WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME??? How dare you call me closedminded just because I have a different opinion from you? You are the closedminded one if you think I have no right to my God-given right to speak my mind. That is worse than HATE, that is a criminal violation of the US Constitution. To deny someone their rights is theft and treason! How dare you, coffee? What if the majority of Americans voted to deprive you of your rights tomorrow. Should I support them and act like you? Deny your rights???
ChristianVoice08 2 years ago
I wasn't talking about you, initially I was talking about Ryan Sorba, I'm just saying that when you attack a group of people with hate speech, you better be prepared for a reaction and that reaction is, for me, a good thing. Let me ask you something, what do you think about the westborow baptist church that goes around protesting with signs that say "god hates fags", is that freedom of speech ?
coffee396 2 years ago
I agree with Sorba as I put forward his argument over 10 years ago. So, it is me under the gun, Coffee. Also, I have not heard Ryan say to hate anyone. You must first prove that his speech is hate speech then. Hate speech by definition would be any endorsement of HATRED or encouragement of hating a group of people. Disagreeing w/or calling people sinners isn't HATE speech, Coffee. God does hate homosexuality and anyone practicing it as He says that such acts are defiance of HIM. Truth not hate.
ChristianVoice08 2 years ago
Now, I do agree with you on the verbiage, Coffee. As a Christian minister, I am NOT endorsing the use of defamatory terms or slang like f-g by "professing" Christians. I have counseled and shared the Good News of Jesus with many homosexuals. ALL OF THEM knew that I loved them & was trying to help them with their battle. I do not agree with being hurtful with the truth. Though they have the right to carry those signs, they should be more respectful of people. But, they have the right.
ChristianVoice08 2 years ago
@ChristianVoice08 With what battle? If you are talking about our battle for equal rights, that is more like a war. If you are talking about a battle without ourselves to accept the fact that we are born gay and nothing can change that and we as a people need to accept that, then I say "why thank you." However Hate speech is Hate speech and Sorba reeks worse than a busted septic tank. Should we down him out, depends. He supports the execution of LGBT people so you be the judge on that one.
darkwolfx333 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333
ChristianVoice08 1 year ago
@darkwolfx333

Quincyshameless 2 years ago
ChristianVoice08 2 years ago
So, now you're comparing anti-gay rights activists to MLK? You disgust me.
MLK spoke for equality and better inter-race relations. Homophobes speak for a bigoted, narrow-minded belief based on...the Bible.
Homophobes have a (man-created, not God-given) rght to free speech, and others have the right to shout them down.

The college has the ultimate right to decide who speaks within their walls; regardless of reason.
hack451 3 years ago
Neither was a counter position. Though Hitler started outside the limelight, his rise to power was supported by legitimate parties in politics. Stalin was tantamount to a plant hijacking AGAIN a popular government movement that turned into revolt by the people. NEITHER was in a "free" country with Constitutional protection of their GOD-GIVEN right to free speech, life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness.

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
Silence is a form of activism. If you remain silent when someone bashes homosexuality or mutters a racial slur, you are silently accepting their behavior. So whether these Smith women provided a screaming protest or reasoned debate, they had the right to open their mouths and show they did not approve.
jjmd280 3 years ago
VIOLATION OF THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS IS A WAIVING OF ONE'S OWN RIGHTS! You cannot take away my freedom of speech in the name of freedom of speech. THE ONLY LIMIT ON OUR CIVIL RIGHTS IS THE INFRINGEMENT ON THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS. We are supposed to be free to do ANYTHING in this country so long as it does not prevent or interfere with anyone else being able to do the same.

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
The man was entitled to his opinion. Ironic that so many gay rights activists talk about intolerance yet they cannot accept anybody having a view that gays should not have equal rights with heterosexual couples.

You're missing the distinction between "Free speech" and "HATE speech!" There is little irony in a false comparison.
lilibellili 3 years ago
And who should determine this distinction? That's where the problem is.
Memento94 3 years ago
RIGHT ON, Memento. All free or none free!!! Hate speech is the burden of free speech, a burden borne easily by those who love freedom!
You cannot limit speech and have free speech. However, we DO hold people accountable for what they say, libel, slander, inciting riots. However, labelling speech as hate does not mean that differing opinions lead to injury.
If someone hurts your feelings by being rude, grow up and get over it. It's not a real injury! Assault is a crime not bad manners.

Duh. Still, no one is stopping two guys from living together or doing whatever they want to do IN THEIR OWN PRIVATE HOME. That's freedom.

No contradiction at ALL, BC. Apparently Canada has failed to teach government in the curriculum. We do.
Congress is for representatives who vote and express political opinions. It is NOT an open forum.

I don't exactly follow this. But, Your claim is wrong. You must take the Constitution in context WITH the Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence and the other papers published by the founding fathers.

Intolerance should be met with intolerance.

Get the parallels?

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
Hitler didn't start out having all the guns. If he'd been shouted down before he took power history would have been much different.
That's why we have to shout down intolerant bigots like you lot. Expose them for the ignorant fools they really are. While they are still weak and powerless before they can seize power and take away our rights at the end of a gun.
It's ludicrous your talking about Nazism & fascism when your striving for a totalitarian theocracy.

A protest that was not only non-violent but also respectful of Sorba as a guest would have better reflected Smith and put the protesters' message in a better light.
ceilingwithoutastar 3 years ago
That was the point I was trying to make, though not as succinctly as you have. Everyone has the right to be heard regardless of their message. I am delighted to see that there are Smithies that are tolerant.
ChristianVoice08 3 years ago

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
"Real freedom unlike any country" and you know this how?Have you ever even been to Europe?
Ancient Israel Free! Have you even read the old testament? There's laws in there that say you can't wear two different kinds of cloth at the same time. That's just an example.
Here's some free speech. I think you are an ignorant, intolerant, bigot. You are the stereotypical ignorant American that gives the US a bad name. The better of your countrymen are ashamed of you.
God in Const, Still waiting.

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago

Ubermensch = Superman

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
You're forgiven. I don't speak german.
I was making the philisophical translation, not the literal one.
lupocephalic 3 years ago
Thank you. I didn't want you to think I was totally dumb or didn't know Neitzhe and his books.

You've read "Thus Spake Zarathustra" then?
I take it you do not believe that God is dead.
I have taken note of your videos merely because I saw a comment of yours wishing for an educated atheist to debate/argue with.
I have come to see if I can fulfill your needs.
I have made a comment on your channel, if you wish to engage me... Right now, unfortunately, I must retire for the evening.
I look forward to an interesting exchange.

ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
I wasn't referring specifically to Catholics - I was using the same rhetoric thrown at gay people and applying it in that context. Of course it doesn't make sense in either context [unless I was talking about specific Catholic priests, I suppose..].
The "few" heterosexuals who are doing it? Where do you get your statistics?
evolveordissolve 3 years ago
When you have to fear for your life walking down the street with your significant other, then you will understand the true meaning of "intolerance". Until then, you have the privilege. What it all boils down to is, I am intolerant of intolerance.
evolveordissolve 3 years ago
We already have to be careful walking down the streets. If gays are letting people bash them, they're wrong. They need to make the cops do their job. And do like the rest of us, "Don't go out in bad neighborhoods late at night".
BUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LAWS YOU GUYS BROKE AND YOUR VIOLATION OF HIS RIGHTS. If you got beat up tomorrow, you don't get a free pass to violate my rights. You have to acknowledge and honor my rights to have your rights guaranteed. Don't change the subject.
ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
MY POINT was, there is an extremely different power dynamic between being gay and RESPONDING to intolerance and having to be the victim of that intolerance and between being a part of the group of people with privilege who perpetuate that intolerance.
Also, way to crazily victim-blame - "If gays are letting people bash them". Wow. I'm sure gay people just "let" it happen. And it happens everywhere.
evolveordissolve 3 years ago
Let people bash them??!! Make the cops do their job??!! If you don't want the subject changed, then don't address it.

What, jmd????
ChristianVoice08 3 years ago
