This was my ultimate song in High School, I play French horn, to hear such weak Horns makes me sad, This band needs a better blend, to TUNE, and way stronger horns. .....and damn flutes, you need better wind control, you're a bit to rough when playing all together.
@TheAllyed he's right he's telling them what is wrong and how they could fix it and trumpets arent all ways supposed to be loud not in a song like this. you want to be able to hear every instrument in the ensamble it isnt as easy to be in the band as most people think.
@TheAllyed It doesn't have to do with 'positive' or 'negative'. It's called 'fact'. I can speak and say whatever it is I wish to. That's the beauty of it. Plus, I do know what goes on within everything musical. Since, you know. I've been apart of bands since 6th grade and went to All State. Thank you for your inaccurate assumptions though. I find you quite humorous.
What the heck was wrong with the first French Horn who played the solo ? Is his horn messed up? Wow, that sounded HORRIBLE. He made them sound off tune pretty badly.
& Trumpets play into the stand so they don't overpower the woodwind section. That's common knowledge. I could hardly hear the flutes over everyone else.
Funny all the people post on this vid. This band is a superior band look it up Northeast High School St. Pete fl. Why are you bashing people as well. We do music not to beat someone we do it for the enjoyment of it yes people are at different levels but respect them not dis them. O btw in 2009 this same band when to DC for the Inauguration and placed 3rd out of 70 something bands, and as always went to state at the concert and marching level.
@thedwc77 Ok, I have to agree with 0mikers0. The point of the trumpet is to be loud. I get how you say that if the pick their horns up, they play into the stands, here's the thing, trumpet stands are never suppose to be in front of the horn, they are suppose to lower their stands or put them off to the side. And if this band was better then they wouldn't need to try and mute the trumpets, they would be able to play quieter. My summer band play this better, and we had like 15 people.
I play trumpet and I'm in highschool. Our freshman band play this piece better. They just did last concert. But honestly the trumpets have terrible posture here because the sound goes straight to their feet. The attack on notes was also bad.
That's a high school level piece.. It shouldn't be that hard for you so called college student
Everyone was out of tune!!!!!! HORRIBLE!!! Also, the trumpets (wat i play) sounded like they couldnt play high notes that werent even that high!!!! also trombones around 2:28 sounded terrible!!!!!!!!!! the only good part is that you guys played the right rythms. thats it!!!!!!!!
I just preformed this piece with my future high school a couple days ago. You guys sound a lot like us just you have more instruments than us. I play tuba and had to play the bass clarenet cue, which I slaughtered the partials for. Other than that, we were on the same level, which makes me proud. Great job!! XD
Trumpets aren't holding their horns up, flutes and baritones are out of tune, clarinets aren't projecting enough/the band is overshadowing the clarinets. Trombones' pitch is mediocre at best. French horn is terribly out of tune.
i'll never know how the trumpet players will change their ambushers completely for marching because they will have to hold them up pin straight, changing the angles completely.
I played tuba on this song and it was fun!! And I cant help but laugh every time I see the tuba player in this video puff his cheeks. Dude needs to do something with his ambisher unless he wants to sound like crap.
