This game was based off an old manga drawn in the same style (and maybe by the same person IDK) as Astro Boy. You can think of this as the darker version, I forget the name of the manga, but it's not "blood will tell"

For those that fail to understand, The first chapter of the game is black an white because demons stole the main characters body parts. The boss of the 1st chapter, once defeated, the main character gets his eyes and his voice back, giving back color, and normalizing his voice so it doesnt have that super-gay-nick-swardson-robot voice :)

I started a new game about a month or two ago and when I hit my first enemy with a charged attack all the buttons were X, I mashed X and got up to around 200 hits, I finished it and the monster dropped a bunch of stuff, I got 2 or 3 new swords but after the chapter was over I lost them, I guess anything you collect doesn't count because it's a tutorial

NO. The sword you collect in tutorial will be added to your inventory. Though in his area you will get only Rusted Sword(like that) collecting may of this will increase Fool's Blade power even to 99. Phoenix Sword Lv. 55 is the powerful sword that would increase your max. life.

Yes, Once i loved this game, played for years and now have no PS2 but just the disk. And i still remember the rusted sword in this area near the left side of the exit. And i remember from obtaining left eye to right hand. And yes the Phoenix Sword, jump to the top of the pillar structure. And Twin Cloud Sword in Prison which doubles your slice rate.
