Do you know it makes me laugh how people rant and rave about HD video,most of these people actually wouldnt actually know how to edit HD,or more importantly have the processing power in their PCs to do it.I find it really weird how people who are buying a camera for taking Images,Like the Brilliant G10 or G11,and rubbish them because of lack of HD!The G11 & G10 are capable of excellent video as above,and are unbeatable high quality compacts!

@BogusBoy2121 - haha yeah ya know its true! most of my friends would love HD stuff but they only have laptops or outdated pc's

i once tried to show them my collection of HD films from a dvd with the files all burned on seperate in WMV format - the laptop pathetically crashed every 2 seconds trying to even load it! the pc chugged along like an old VCR trying to play Bluray!!!

thankfully mu pc runs it PERFECT and FLAWLESSLY!

the only way to get better value out of 1 device from canon is to buy a 5d mark 2 and most peep's dont have 3500 bucks min to start with beacuse 2700 for a body you would be crazy not to have L glass

i think the video footage is impressive even though its not hd!

the lx3's GUI is not as gd and the canon is better looking!

i buy a camera for pictures not for video!

I would get the G10 if it had good quality video. I would get the $400 Panasonic Lumix if it had good quality photos. Why can't Canon put HD video on the G10! I don't know what to get.

I am agreeing with ch473. I love the G10 except the non-HD video. Hope they comes out with a new G10HD or a G10S or something like that.

Macinabit, night shots work amazingly if you keep the iso low and increase the shutter speed while using a tripod. My g10 has produced some amazing night photos

the quality looks pretty good, but it's hard to compare on youtube. i'm thinking about getting a g10, can anyone tell me how the video quality compares to one on a low-end digital camcorder like a cheap sony handycam?

@SymCoVideo I have a G10 and want to make videos for Youtube with it. I am having trouble transfering them to Youtube. I cannot seem to compress them so it takes like 12 hours to upload which is ridiculous.

When I transfer a short video from my G10 it goes onto iPhoto and saves as a Quicktime video. I do not have Quicktime Pro. I'm assuming what I have is a trial of Quicktime? Which will not allow me to compress, export.

@tomsmith100 Is there a way around this for free? I do not want Quicktime Pro as I hear bad things about it. And I cannot seem to transfer my video to iMovie. iMovie will only allow me to use the built in webcam which is grainy and poor quality.

its a compact digital camera the has 14.7 MegaPixels and has video shooting at 640x480 and 30 FPS also its good because it has allot of SLR and DSLR features in a small and compact body

yes you can zoom but movie will be blurry. it does not refocus once zoomed.
