Great performance by NTR in Ravana role. Specially when Ravana a great Shiva devotee was denied entrance by Nandi he lifts the Kailasha mountain itself with Shiva and Parvathi and balances it on his 10 heads. But the Lord punishes him for his ahankar(Ego) and pins him down with his foot. Undetterred Ravana the great devotee of Shiva pulls out the his intestines and plays RudraVeena and dies. His Soul travels and merges in Shiva and the God Bless him. This is the power of Self Surrender. Narendra

agree with all of u, ravana is a great devout of Lord shiva, capable ruler,maestro of veena & he is described as a Ten headed person is a reference of very thorough knowledge of 4 Vedas & 6 Upanishads , but the only thing he did wrong is kidnapping Goddess Sita devi coz of that he was killed by Lord Rama.

@parakala1 that's not the only thing he did wrong. even though he is such a great devotee of Siva, he committed many crimes. he did many adharmas and tortured many gods. he knew all the dharmas. however, he just did not follow them because he was overcome by Kama(desire) for wealth and power. ultimately he made the fatal mistake of kidnapping sita which lead to his demise. The thing is, even though he did many unjust things, he was given moksha because he was killed in the hands of Rama.
