I had one of these back in high school in the mid 70's and this is how I remember it to sound. I have heard some of the ones that have been totally tricked out to be distortion and sustain monsters, but my amp was more subtle than that. You really had to play it, because it was fairly clean sounding. I didn't use any pedals in front of it, as I would today to drive it, but there is something very special about the less sustaining, cleaner sounding tone of this amp. I did it... oh the memories.
All dependant on the style of music your approaching in a band format. room reflection and playing with a band with your amp on 60% volume is usually good for a 100 watter any way. If you rollin blues this partiocular tone i suppoase sounds good. or ACDC even. Personally.
I se a couple Marshalls .My main fav nelieve or not is a 1981 Marshall JCM800 2203 which has distortion. the big problem is people throw more dist, in front which makes it to harsh. i usea 1978 boss od13403d chip . etc gear.
I like the sound...very nice...I myself could never own a white color guitar head and cab but not because it dosen't look good, it's because I know I'd somehow get oil stained finger marks all over it over time. Black doesn't show up.

I think it sounds great. Not the least bit muddy. They did a nice job.

A guy playing some Sabbath riffs on a SG Std (pickguard and PUs changed ?) plugged into a modded Marshall can't be a bad guy.

crap man a master volume would be cheap as hell if you do it yourself. I didnt know they would cost as much as a hotplate for a tech.
