I think anyone who watched 24 from the beginning would agree that the first couple of episodes of season 8 sucked. They were pretty much made up of boring, awkward storylines involving the annoying people at CTU: NY and the UN. Then, Charles Logan, one of the most hated characters in all of 24 (in a good way) comes back, and Jack carries out a freaking brutal plot to get revenge on him. It was amazing and made season 8 one of the best seasons.

@nygiantsfan6 i like this series as a whole. i dont really think changes of pace are a bad thing to do, especially in a final season. it was well placed to be at the beginning of the season, and then the rest of it got really intense. it created a really awesome dramatic build up. but i can understand where your coming from. i liked it tho :)

As much as I hated to see Renee die, her death really gave the last part of season 8 a renewed focus and energy. It's what pushed Jack over the edge, and it was very exciting seeing him take on the Russians and Charles Logan. The first part of season 8 did indeed suck, and if it hadn't been for Jack on the warpath after Renee's death, season 8 as a whole just might have been even worse than season 6.

I couldn't disagree more. If I had to rank the seasons, it would go 1-2-7-8-3-4-5-6. Season 4 had plenty of memorable moments (raiding the Chinese Consulate, the assault on McLennan-Forrester, rescuing James Heller), and Season 7 was by far the best of the second four seasons, very, very plot driven. They took a risk with Tony and I feel it paid off. Season 5 would have been better except it turned into a neo-con bash fest, and Season 6 plain sucked due to the Bauers.

@38006 I like all the season, your right, how could someone not? But in my opinion, after season 5 24 started to go downhill. Season 6 got a little boring in the middle, season 7 was better but still wasn't quiet as good as seaons 1-5, and season 8 just had to much recycled material (Bombs, betrayal, jack yelling at people blah blah blah). But still! Haha i love 24 and would continue to watch it another 10 years. The end of season 8 though is definitely the best 24 has ever done :)
