  • This was so hilarious!

    Keep up the vids!

  • HAHAHA Anything to avoid unkind words with the wife is a necessary course of action

  • Master Sgt, this is one of the funniest things that I have seen a Marine (active or retired) do in a long time. Thank you for your service and you have earned your retirement pay!!!

  • I'm leaving for officer training for the Marine Corps this summer. I'm a pretty hard nosed type of guy that doesn't back down, but my wife can silence me in a heartbeat too.

  • @patriotxxUSMC When you give respectful deference to the wife then everything else is gravy. Good luck at OCS!

    Top

  • @patriotxxUSMC Just wonderin, but how old are you? im 26 and i was wanting to join, but havent heard anyone as old as me go in

  • @Bamabarrett I'm 20 and two years into college. We have a guy that works out with us at my recruiters office who is 25. 26 is uncommon but is still possible. If you have a college degree you can go to officer school. If your interested I would recommend you talking to a recruiter and asking him about all the options you have.

  • Sir thank you for your service. My God bless you and your family. Again thank you.

  • @slipmud84 Thank you! And thank you for commenting!

  • Too cute!

  • AWESOME Semper Fi top

  • @bigmodaco Ohh-rah! Thanks for commenting!

  • Being a veteran myself (US Army enlisted then USAF officer), I can certainly relate to these 4 videos in this series. When I came through Basic training in the Army, the DI's were still allowed to swear. I understand that has now been cleaned up.

  • @gmc0422 Thank you for your service! The PR is that DIs don't curse, but the reality is there's no shortage of the "F" word on bootcamp!

  • Outstanding!! As a fellow Marine I liked what I saw and heard. Very funny and effective way to open a seminar. Semper Fi!

  • @greeseanm Ooh-rah and Semper Fi! Thanks for commenting Devil Dog.

  • Watching this compilation (1-4), I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face! Especially at the 'tissue issue' and how you determined the 30second intervals. Utmost respect for you. Thank you for your service - I am grateful.

  • @gmatsalves Wow, quite the compliment! Thanks for commenting!

  • 00:59 lmyao!!!! flateline________

  • @sunshinesda1 hahaha!!! Thanks for commenting! (Even with the misspelling)

    Top

  • @TopAbbott lolol . i know right. then i misspelled, "mispelled." guess its to late to say the keys are sticking on my keyboard huh? lolol. i enjoyed that laugh, thank you so much for sharing with us youtubers. lol

  • SIR YES SIR. Slaps child up side head to turn on silent mode!

  • @FeralSparky Haha, I love that! Wish I had thought of that line when we did this.

    Top

  • @lesdoyle2000 Of course your quote has absolutely nothing whatsoever on the face of the earth to do with the video and also represents only 1 person's experience. I served in Desert Storm as was trained in Arabic customs before going to Arabia so as not to offend the locals and repeatedly told that Marines only use as much force as necessary and we only fight enemy combatants. You would only rate some spit in your direction.

  • LOVE this series Top!!!! Congratulations on your retirement, THANK YOU for your service, & OUTSTANDING job as a speaker! Reminded me of my old Company Gunny from Kilo 3/6 who used to say things like: "Gents...you can't say the Corps didn't give you job skills! After 4 years being a Grunt, you're qualified to do TWO things...you can work at a MacDonald's...or you can hold one up! (& you gonna be much better at the latter of those two!)"!!!! Stay motivated MasterSgt! SEMPER FI!

  • @TSBOLZ Ooh-rah! Thanks for commenting and serving! Semper Fi!

  • This one is the best of all 4 of them, more so the reaction to the wife being in the crowd. My Marine would do something like that. Semper Fi!

  • @sunset4403 Hahaha, this is my favorite one too.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • I'd salute you, sir, but since you were an elinstedman, and worked for a living, I'll just settle for saying "oorah!"

  • Great to see a marine not killing women and kids for oil for a change.

  • @lesdoyle2000 LOL! Thanks! I haven't seen a comment that ridiculous in quite a while!

  • @lesdoyle2000 Boy, are you an idiot. Are you just mad because your mother was a whore and had to sell her ass for some crack? or is it you just don't know who your father was and that's why you are fu*ked up in the head. Why you are sitting in the homeless shelter selling your ass for an extra slice of bread, just get a life and stop being a cunt!!

  • @lesdoyle2000 Maybe you should just go live with the terrorist. That would be a great gift to all Real Americans.Take your stupid ideas of what the Military does that protects you and your family and leave this country that so many have fought and died so you are free and I say you are free and that means free to leave.

  • @lesdoyle2000 You obviously don't see ANY Marines. Do something useful with your time DA.

  • Great video.Semper Fi.USMC 1981-1987 Tanker 1811

  • @Gunner43056 Ooh-rah! Who doesn't love Tankers!?! Semper Fi!

  • Thank you for your service! I leave to bootcamp in 12 days!

    future 03

  • @BUFFTHEDOCTOR lucky i still got 8 months till i enlist

  • hahaha omfg the wife part seriously made me laugh!!

  • First thing I learned about marines from the father of one guy in my troop was this, a marine will run into a hail of gunfire and explosions without blinking, in fact, one friend said he had an insurgent run at him with a machine gun and he just threw the guy into a wall, and yet calling marines fearless is not fully true, if a marine is afraid of one thing in the whole world it is his wife, if it is a female marine, then there is nothing to fear. (I know about the hyperbole here, go with it)

  • @Jeremiah90526 Definitely only fear is the wife, but I'm not completely unafraid of a machine gun, that's just a fear you work through.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • I think Military people can be the best comedians, i look for them all the time ,they need to do more work like this

  • @hemigod2 Thanks! That's quite a compliment to all of us in the military!

  • @TopAbbott from experience all of the vets in my family are the best entertainers at Family gatherings and such. Had an ex drill Sergeant uncle (R.I.P.) who's attention always went to who ever laughed the hardest at his cracks. he'd keep a stone face but he would have you in tears. like Lee Ermey x10. He worked as a doorman for a club called Sarges for a while just to entertain folk while waiting to get in. the club owner bought him a car just to make sure he was there all the time.

  • Funny as shit man, awesome job!

  • @mirrin55 Ooh-rah! Thanks for commenting!

  • Top,

As soon as I heard you say song, I'm thinking "Cadence", and then I see "Up in the morning in the rising son" on the screen, and then I knew. Classic. Great video.

  • @Lardman678 Thanks! It was amazing singing cadence to these women, I've never had so many voices singing right back, through me off for a second.

Thanks for serving brother, hopefully I'll run into some great guys like you once I join the Paratroopers =)

  • @SgtShnackendale Thanks for commenting and that you service brother!

  • Omgosh...I laughed SO HARD at your innocent, "Puddin?" Thank you so much for posting these! One of my BEST friends is a marine in the Indian Co. 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines and will be heading back to Afghanistan in a few months. It's so hard to let him go, but he's so brave and strong just like a Marine should be. I've taken to watching these videos lately (meaning the bored marine videos and the sort) and they seem to help ease the pain slightly. Thank you so much for sharing!

    Hoorah!

  • @lindseymickeyd Hey Lindsey, glad I could make you laugh! Thanks for commenting an stopping by!

    Top

  • This was great. Thanks for sharing Top.

  • I love these videos!! My husband is in the Marines and i agree, it's one thing when we see the guys off base and out of uniform being silly and whatnot but on base it's different. Except of course now that he's in Afghan and that's all they can wear lol =]

  • @TheeeCupcakeFresh Ooh-rah, Marine wife! The ONLY tougher job than being a Marine? Being the Marine wife! Thanks for commenting and Semper Fi!!!

    Top

  • @TopAbbott Well I certainly do apologize sir for any miscommunication that may have occured here, often times I forget that I am only communicating with one of 4 combined techniques used by humans to convey intent to one and other. Mainly my comment was in jest sir it was not meant to correct or belittle you in any way, it was merely an attempt to point out that authentic attire would have enhanced the situation greatly. I do apologize if I have insulted you in any way sir, Semper Fi.

  • hey im 14 and wanna join the marines or rangers cant decide atm but i cant really find a good video/movie about what marines or rangers are really like and before someone dumb says "kid you know that rl isnt a game.." yes i know infact i hate all those dumb games but anyway thanks for serving our country.

  • @bradycorcoran Don't let anyone steal your dream!

    Best Marine movies:

Sands of Iwo Jima, The D.I., Boys in Company C, Full Metal Jacket

Best modern war movies; Platoon, Platoon Leader, We Were Soldiers, The Hurt Locker.

    Top

  • @TopAbbott i watched fmj not 2 long ago so all the training in the beginning was real stuff you got 2 do in boot camp and stuff like that?

  • @bradycorcoran Yes, FMJ is very realistic in training as is Boys in Company C. The real experience will be very different obviously, but it gives you and overview of what to expect.

  • @TopAbbott Don't forget "The Siege of Firebase Gloria" and "Hamburger Hill". May not be "Marine" movies per se, but still excellent war movies.

  • @bradycorcoran Of course you must see Full Metal Jacket. Then get the classics, The D.I. and Sands of Iwo Jima. I don't know what good Ranger movies there are, but We Were Soldiers is one of the best war movies ever.

  • get job. this woulda been great to be at. semper fi. HOORAH top

  • @TopAbbott The officers do 15 and half months of training while the rest of use do 32 weeks (not including training for afghanistan) :) and yer im still in basic, but its all going good so far!

  • @roryg68 Have things changed since I graduated? MCRDSD July, 7-Oct 3, 2003 3bn Lima Co plt 3011 I sure as heck never had a chance to get on a computer or especially to watch Youtube videos lol The most we had was a half torn up out of date newspaper they would come and throw on the quarter deck Sundays when we got back from church or whatever the others did during that small break in fun. I think I was cheated lol

  • @Nmezyk Watched during my week of RandR, but from the sound of it not much has changed since your days mate :)

  • @Nmezyk Thanks for watching and commenting. Good to know the Corps is still the same after all these years!

  • @Rhino42001 Semper Fi Brother! When did you retire?

  • The part where it hits the wife CRACKS ME UP!!! This is just amazing Top! This is some really really screwby stuff!!!! Great choice of clothing though if I do say so myself. I'd say better to wear that then USMC issued uniforms. I don't know I feel like it's more suitable.

  • @synysterlud Thanks! And of course I agree. I didn't want to mis-represent the Corps in anyway. I just don't think comedy and the uniform go together off base.

    Thakns for commenting.

    Top

  • @TopAbbott You are very welcome Top! And I do agree, it gives a misconception about the Marines and the uniform. I understand where they have videos of them in Afghanistan in their MARPATs and doing comedy, but that is all they can wear. But I hear you in every way. On base, it's all good, off base, misconceptions will come around.

  • Who are you and what gives you the authority to "correct" me? I am a retired U.S Marine Master Sergeant and was retired when I made this video. I can wear whatever the heck I want as a retired Marine, especially non-military issue clothing.

And who calls them dress greens? Are you referring to the Service "A' Alpha uniform?

Love comments, especially from Marines, but please show a little respect for those that have walked the path before you and I will do likewise.

    Semper Fi!

I can wear whatever the heck I want as a retired Marine, especially non-military issue clothing. And who calls them dress greens? Are you referring to the Service "A' Alpha uniform? • @TopAbbott You tell 'em!

  • @Dpearrow Haha, thanks for commenting!

  • @BenzinFresser I can only hope you're at least standing at parade rest when you presume to speak like that to a retired career Marine Master Sergeant...before you drop into the front-leaning-rest position while he takes his time answering you.

  • I think you should be an actor.

and I think I'm going to enlist in about a year hahaha

  • This was hilariouuuussss! My wife was never fond of me joining the Corp, but I've met her half way with the Reserves, and she's pro military (I guess that's the case with most of them.) BUT she and I enjoyed this very much! Thank you for sharing it with us, Staff Sergeant.

  • You're funny enough to be a squid. lol

    I'm kidding, don't kill me.

  • that was awesome, really funny, thumbs up!

  • lol was that planned...the part about your wife?

  • Stand up comedy? I'd see your show. Very cute, and very hilarious. Especially the part about your wife being in the audience. So true!! Made my night thanks!!

  • When you were in the Marine Corps did you mind when people called you top? The Staff Sgt at the recurter station by me says he called a Master Sgt top and he fliped out is it just a matter of prefeacce?

  • My channel is called TopAbbott, so I don

t mind at all. Being a "Top" is part of Marine history. There was about a decade after WWII that there were no Sgt Maj's in the Corps so being a Master Sgt meant you were the "top" of the enlisted structure. There are many who feel that being able to refer to someone as a "Top" is a privilege reserved for those who are very close to a MSgt. and therefor they get POed when someone they barely know comes up calling them Top.

  • thats really good to know thank you useful information
