Pspimp, you already had played this game throughout your life? If you're playing with a genuine N64 pad w/ adaptoided wishtech, for example... I have to say: Guy, you're terrible. :) I could swear dat you've played with a mouse! And, GeneralJazza, you're good, but I'm better! Unfortunately, I stopped play Mario Kart long ago, when I was child. So I can't proof to you I'm right!
