Tyranids vs Imperial Guard

hello, im a newby... :( can you send me a message to know some basic combat rules( how many times you throw the dices...and why...how minis move...when are specific bonuses added...the max. and min. of the attack or defenses of the minis...and anything else I you think I should know...) I cant afford buying the real game rule book or game, but I do want to know the rules...please send me the rules for the games here on my youtube channel :)

@TheLavaire - Bloody hell mate. Thats a pretty big ask. Basically your telling me to write all the rules down!

Best advice would be maybe buy a rule book off e-bay, if you get a damaged one you might be able to pick it up cheap. Or..... Have you heard of Assault on Black Reach?

It's games workshops 'starter kit', comes with 2 armies, rules, dice & templates. Think it's £60. The mini rule book in it is all you need. They sell on e-bay for about £10. Any more 'specific' questions, just ask.

Old Codex mate.... Not that cost effective as they used to be 10 points each. Now they're 6 I'm running X2 squads of 20 with Toxin Sac's.

If you want to win games with guard you have to have some kind of counter force, you should treathen your enemy instead of responding to his moves. This could mean adding some hellhounds or rough riders which are my choise for a counter attack. But you could also get some storm troopers or ogryns, they rock!

I know that this video is old, but I have watched some of your videos and wanted to give you some tips on playing guardsmen :) good luck in the future!

I tend to throw some Melta vets in Chimeras forward with Demolishers, Hellhound & a Company Command to back them up. Also just added a Valkyrie to my list... It's not doing so well to date though. Keeps getting shot down! :P

Wow jimmybrown11111 you must really suck if you think tyranids and necrons are the cheesiest out there. Tyranid players are face-palming themselves about tyranid scoring units, and, like eldar we've lost all our speed in 5th ed. with the run rule. As for necrons, dont be ridiculous. Necrons are one of, possibly second only to Dark Eldar, the hardest armies to play competitivly.

ive noticed your shock troopers like getting massacred well i win with my gaurd and here is my stratagy i have a battery of basalisks owning the most dense spots they can find 4 squads of shock troopers 2 in front 2 in back 1 fron dies move in a back squad then i have a lemen russ up in the fron with 2 storm trooper squads and a heavy weapons team giving support

Maybe. Yet to try a Basilisk. Not sure how well it will work when a Drop Pod lands next to it & a Dreadnought walks out, melts all the men around it in the first turn, then assaults the Tank in the next turn. Good bye troops, good bye Tank! Not too keen on foot Troops at all. Prob just gonna run Vet's in Chimera's from now on. But thanks for your comment.

thats why my basalisks are allways in the corner of the table cause we play spearhead and sense nothing can deepstrike unless it is farthert than an inch from enemy when ever something deepstrikes my heavy weapons teams mow them down

I can see your point, that is exactly what i would do with Basilisks. However, I'm still not convinced. Even if your Basilisks are surrounded by men, that is light work for a Dreadnought. Men basically can't do shit to it unless they have SW. Even if supported by a HW Squad, that's, at best 3 Lascannons. 4's to hit & 3's to glance. Maybe slightly better with the new rules but still not great. I must point out that this video your commenting was made, before the new rules came out.

No no my friend. It's a Hive Tyrant with wings. The Carnifex can't have the wings Biomorph. You got the Balrog wings right though. Ordered them from the Games W/S, then bought a tyrant from e-bay. Drilled some holes in his bag & added Magnets, then painted the bad boy..... It's a killing machine!
