  • I did a oil change on my Agility 50 few hours ago. I was need to add 0,9liter of engine oil.

  • Sir,

Does "CASTROL POWER1 15w-40 (part synthetic)" is safe to use? I have my Kymco super 8 125cc and to be honest I used this oil. But I felt something bad while on the road. Please help me. I need your point of view and suggestions.

    Thanks

  • @gwapito1815 Hello. The oil you used should be fine. For the scooter, the engine oil is only used to lubricate the engine components. On most motorcycles, that oil also lubricates the transmission clutch, which is why you see special motorcycle oil (and why you shouldn't use car oil in a motorcycle). But for your scooter, the Castrol should be fine. Be sure to check your oil level to ensure it didn't leak out!

  • @nd1996mn Sir, Thank you very much. It helps me a lot. You answered not only my questions but also my worries. May God continue bless & keep you always. By the way I'm Allan from the Philippines.

  • @nicholas33309 no moped goes 60mph without some modifications, atleast in europe. just google what things do you need for it. atleast better exhaust system and ALOT of other stuff

  • @BarrettBullet This isn't true sadly. For example my 125CC moped goes 60 mph steadily and nearing 65 at a push (Kymco Agility) 125cc.

  • wut kind of oil is that

  • @nicholas33309 I was using Chevron Delo. I think it was 15W-40.

  • @nd1996mn can u give me some advice to speeding up my moped because its only going 20mph when its suppose to go 60mph

  • Great video. Keep them coming!

  • AGILITY200i !!! GUYS !!! THE MOST PRETTY SCOOTER OF KYMCO !!!

  • Hi,

I lost the manual and I emailed Kymco to ask them what oil to use. They recommend 10w-50. Would that work for this scooter. I live in GA but I don't ride during the winter. I guess it won't hurt to get the oil faster into the engine when starting it up, but want to double check with and make sure. oh, and thanks for the video. it's awesome.

  • @adiv1313 .....sory I meant to say 10w-40 not 10w-50

  • @adiv1313 .....sorry I meant to say 10w-40 not 10w-50

  • @adiv1313 Hi. I think you would be fine with 10w-40. My manual says 15w-40, which is what I've been using without any problems so far. I'm no expert, but these things run all over the world, sometimes on bad/dusty roads and other less-than-ideal conditions, and they are fine (because they're kymco :-). I'm guessing the exact oil weight isn't critical.

  • 4 stroke vs 2 stroke....which one should i go with if i was to buy this scooter?

  • @CAPTBORG For the two stroke, I assume you are talking about the Super9? I don't think they make a two-stroke Super 8. Either way, I think you'd be happy with either. I hear a lot of good things about the Super 9--it's a pretty quick scoot. I'd try to ride each and see which you prefer.

  • @nd1996mn actually they have made 2 years two stroke. I would take the two stroke

  • Thanks! good video. I am not mechanically savvy but I feel with this tutorial Even I could master this. Also I now understand what I'm paying someone else to do. I like that.

  • tumbs up if you overcomplicated things

  • I cannot even remove the drain bolt on mine. It has been overtorqued to the point I cannot even budge it a mm.

  • Great video. Now, as add-ons, it's also a good idea to take out the filter plug before putting the drain plug back in. With that done, pour a small amount of fresh oil -into- the oil filler neck, then use the kickstart a few times -without the key in the on position!- This will help to flush out anything left in the oil system.

After that, apply a small amount of fresh oil to the filter and spring/cap before re-adding, then follow the rest of this video. :D

  • Great video man. I just purchased this scooter a few weeks ago, so it was great to see your video showing such an easy oil change.

Very well put together and nice close ups of everything needed.

    Good job-

  • @simple9rts Thanks! It's always nice to hear that these videos are helping people perform the routine maintenance themselves. And it's a good way to save a few bucks. You've bought a great scooter--enjoy it! Ride safely.

  • @nd1996mn So you have to do that every 1000 miles?

  • @TonyFirelli Yes. Since there isn't a real oil filter (just that screen) I figure it's better to change it often. Your owners manual should list the recommended interval for your bike.

  • @nd1996mn Hmm I did the numbers and I'm only gonna spend 600-725 miles per year! so that's good it should last for 6 years right? about 6,000 miles, well anyway I'm probably gonna get this Super8 50cc one and this video will really help me out! *like* 5/5...

  • Very helpful video, thanks. How often do you change the oil?

  • @roconnor09 Hi! Thanks. I change it about every 1000 miles. It's only about a quart of oil so it only costs a few bucks to do it.

  • GREAT STUFF !!! This really helped a lot !! Nice and clear - no questions at all. Thanx very much !!

  • i did it !!!! I performed the oil change ...... So easy with your vid thanks .If you got any more please make so more

  • Good for you! And thanks for the compliment. I've been making these whenever my scooter needs work, so there should be more coming--probably a belt replacement if I ride enough this year. For now, there is also gear oil change, valve adjustment, and winterizing. Thanks!

  • Kind Regards form colombia South america!

Down here this bike is called Kymco Agility 125cc

Anyway I followed your instructions and things went very well but I did break one thing! The oil dipstick! I was so mad at me, Im going to try to glue it with crazy glue... Could you please tell me if you think that the crazy glue will hold the temp...

    Very Grateful!

  • Thanks for the feedback! Is the break in the cap, or the actual stick? If it were me, I would NOT glue the dipstick together. Even if it holds up to the temp, the movement of the oil or a bump in the road might break it loose. You do not want a loose piece of anything flying around in the engine! I would order order a replacement part. If it's a crack in the cap, gluing it might work...but I still would get a new one. Enjoy your bike!!

  • what kind of oil do u use? full synthetic?

  • No, I just use regular 15W-40. Some people will argue for synthetic, but I figure frequent changes are probably more important--especially considering that there's no oil filter.

  • Hope more videos like this for super 8. Repair and Maintenance. i own a super 8 125. Thank you for this. MORE VIDEOS FOR SUPER 8 PLEASE. i WANT TO REPAIR AND MAINTAIN IT MYSELF.

  • Nice vid man!

  • awesome vid! I have a super 8 50 in the same colours as yours. I've changed the oil like 3 days ago and I was concernd if I have puten the filter and spring in the right order, but now I'm sure. Tnx.
