  • You know what???THey are boring!same kind of moves!

  • POPPING JOHN JUS ATE HIM..

  • @teasley23 I was just going to inquire about Poppin John's diet. Now i know..

  • atari like tricks

  • atari is sick... been seeing him dance for years...

  • a..... look at me at 41 seconds lol!!

  • Song List?

  • am I the only one thinking Atari looks sloopy as hell sometimes?

  • PJ did interesting variations on the last part and above all, is way cleaner - I think that PJ is never better than when someone tries to put him under pressure

  • Ive never seen a style like atari's. Defanately dope.

  • since the begining of this video i knew people were gonna go war comenting.personaly the other dude did pretty well and the crowd make it look like he did pretty bad wich wasnt true.no one did better than the other.popping john was clean in everithing but way to repetitive.atari was not as clean but wasnt THAT repetitive.for me was draw.the stupid crowd dissing.you wouldnt want the entire crowd to be aside with 1 dancer.atari did so many good moves but the crowd...just like green vs king mike...

  • @elviejojavi5 I don't know what you think is happening out there but this is a BATTLE no patty cakes. Im comparing one to another. What do you do when you watch a battle? If it makes you feel better i commend a person who even tries to go out there but i give credit when credit is due. your response @FleazKnuttz i understand that there are alot of popping john fans out there, and if you really feel like he won, it isnt necessary to hate on his opponent.

  • @FleazKnuttz i understand, im a fan myself of PJ.. it just bothers me when PJ followers try to crush his oponents online despite him being good or bad, like they did to my dawg devious when he battled him..i looked into your account because i wanted to see if you had any videos of yourself but all i found was a long list of PJ videos..

  • @FleazKnuttz my comment was cut.. so what i was saying is...what i mean is that for you to become a better dancer its good to study videos and analyze..hating aint going to get you nowhere and obsessively jocking another poppers isnt either.

  • I appreciate the respect by the way, it's rare

  • In the end our eyes can see good technique from bad regardless of name...I'm just saying doing animation solely on the characters of the original style is restrictive... If we popped like the original popping or boogaloo or robot we would look very ancient and dated...if everyone did the same sinbad animation it would just be a move like the cobra ... The cobra is a move but the style is snaking or waving.... I argue for animation as a style and the sinbad as the move that spawned it

  • In two different ballet schools they will call two different movements the same name..... But ballet is ballet and all the schools have the same techniques... So in both your school and my school we have been giving the same techniques.... Like I said once OG still argue over words likes boogaloo and poplocking....

  • I know who bam bam is ...please clarify, as I recall he was not nycb until later.... But anyway I guess a good way to explain myself is ... Reverso is from a particular school of popping, resembling the taco and shrimp style of popping....in reversos school animation is one thing and in another school it describes something else...

  • Reazon Dude I apologize I'm on my phone and skipped your previous posts, disregard my comments I'll let Reverso speak for himself since he was there and I wasn't

  • ... The illusion those characters inspire, the techniques.... Not doing the same character that another oldschool guy was doing when they came up with it...

  • You're debating over a word with a guy that was there in LA when the style you're talking about was being invented... I guess the point is ... If the person doing the illusion isn't good it doesn't matter what it's called ... And to be honest I know animation when I see it , it's a style not a move....most guys now have never seen the old sinbad or old claymation... There's no point to the reference unless the audience gets the movie they're doing..... No what it is the illusion that those char

  • @1Reazon. Who if I may ask taught you, unless you are an OG yourself for you to be telling an OG what animation is or isn't I find slightly disrespectful Those of us from the current generation should step back and let the pioneers debate things like that....it's like being from a shaolin school and walking into a wutang school and saying hey you guys are wrong..... Bottom line, whatever you call things, it's plain to see with your eyes if an illusion is there or isn't

  • @1ReaZon This is the last time I will comment on the subject. Your mentors are N.Y.Poppers. They were not there to witness the creation of animation. I was. Animation was described to me by PopnTaco himself. Animation is a style NOT a move. Your facts are incorrect. You are talking to someone who has been poppin before you and some of your mentors were even born. I am from the era of Taco,Shrimp, Heckle n Jeckle, Playboy Eddie, M&M,Static Tiny T. and the list goes on

  • Comment removed

  • @1ReaZon While your mentors were being mentored by L.A. poppers. I was battling along side the best of those L.A. poppers. While your mentors were learning L.A. style I was living in L.A. Poppin style. Though I HONESTLY have NO ill intent towards you nor your mentors. But these are THE FACTS. so you do NOT have your facts straight. Your mentors are welcomed to discuss this with me O.G. to O.G. Like I said Shrimp will be here May 18. You can ask us in person. peace

  • that shake at 430 was one of the WACKEST moves i ever saw..compare tuts compare waves..compare roboting..John crushes this guy in every way possible except for getting dirty on the ground. Poppin john ..by K.O.

  • @FleazKnuttz i understand that there are alot of popping john fans out there, and if you really feel like he won, it isnt necessary to hate on his opponent..i must say i enjoyed this battle..and the move at 430.. i didnt see it coming.. i personally liked it.. never seen that type of wave before.. both poppers were dope..peaceNrespect :D

  • According to wiggles himself he was popping wrong in the 80 's until he learned more from boogaloo shrimp and some other guys after the beat street and breakin movies... I will have to go look at wiggles website to find the quote

  • @Fiercevm that is correct. As I stated Wiggles did not pop so he would not be a good reference in regards to Robotics nor Animation. That is why He and Waves were caught off gaurd when i battled them at the Roseland. Witnessed by Mohamed Moretta, Swipe, Papa Shu,Ivo and some of the N.Y.City Breakers. I was poppin side by side with Shrimp and Taco on Hollywood Blv and Vine years before those movies came out. People now a days make a name for themselves on youtube. I did it in the battle

  • @Fiercevm Sorry I though I was responding to Irealzon. lol But your knowledge is on point.

  • I also would like reference popping taco , in the documentary breakin and enterin... Although the video is bad quality he briefly demonstrates that you can animate a wave and he proceeds to do a wave with some choppy pauses to give it a different effect...I could be wrong but my idea is that animation evolved beyond just copying one sinbad character... Or else it's just a move everyone tries and does the same and its not a style... What do you think?

  • @Fiercevm And I would like to add that Robotics did NOT become and intregal part of popping till 1977. That was when Shields and Yarnell had there own t.v. show. though they did not invent Robotics. Animation is not a move. But a style of poppin which you can use to execute your moves. Some will say the Cyclops character and some say it was the smurfs and actually in L.A. Toy Boy said he got the idea from doing the headbobbling from a Porky Pig cartoon.

  • @Fiercevm when you animate a wave that is a cosmic wave. I battled Poppin Taco and his partner at the time "COSMOS" when I was 13 and that was the first time I ever witnessed animation. I was defeated by Poppin Taco. But learned much from that defeat. And i was only 13 when HE was a seasoned popper. Please NOTE there is a distinct difference between BOOGALOO AND POPPIN. Wiggles did not POP back then. Plus i would like to thank you for the respect that you have shown on your comments.

  • I appreciate how you came out and spoke respectfully with your opinion, just remember when speaking to pioneers they have histories that were never written down, peace! And as far as robotics I heard shields and Yarnell mime duo were a big influence even if they were not a part of that scene

  • @1ReaZon I respect you opinion. ART has and always will be a question of taste. But you have contradicted your recent comment. You say that " You shouln't be able to predict an urban dancers movements" but in your previous comment you stated ..."If I battle PJ I would do all his moves in the first move before he did them to force him to really start dancing" That is premeditated. I HONESTLY commend your efforts in acquiring knowledge. As should ALL poppers do. You have my respect.

  • @Bzo215IndigoFlow. You should never interfere in any battle unless you are prepared to battle. You being a popper little to no caliber should not be making cat calls let alone corrections. You truly believe that you can teach Atari how to TUT? For your sake I suggest you practice. HAVOK is going to give you a world of hurt. You and I should talk one day about lines.

  • One more thing I would like to add. If you want to do a demonstration, that's fine, but once you step into a circle and pop. Then all bets are off. P.J. stepped into the circle and NO ONE called him out. People were too busy being star struck. WHY? FLORIDA people should be star struck with US. I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE THE POPE! If you come to our town and step into our circle. WE WILL CALL YOU OUT! Atari was the only one to stand for FLORIDA.. MUCH respect to BOTH Poppers.

  • Poppin John did NOT do Animation! what he did was Robotics. Mime cosists of stops. Robotics consists of soft hits and head bobbling (which was first done in 1981 by an L.A. popper named TOYBOY) Animation consists of harder hits, dime stoppin and cosmic waves. NONE of which Poppin John demonstrated. And trust me I KNOW. I have been poppin since 1978

  • Comment removed

  • @1ReaZon I respectfully have to disagree with you, being that I WAS PRESENT when ROBOTICS and ANIMATION became an intregal part of poppin. I did NOT state that Toy Boy invented Robotics. I stated he was the FIRST to bring the HEAD BOBBLING of Robotics to the scene. Wiggles did not pop back then. He did boogaloo. How do I know this... Because I battled BOTH Wiggles and Mr. Waves at the Roseland In N.Y. in 1984 and he was not doing any Robotics nor Animation.

  • @1ReaZon If you say that cosmic waves have nothing to do with animation then Poppin Taco, Boogaloo Shrimp and myself are all three wrong and we have a lot to learn. But you will have your opportunity to ask him yourself since I will be bringing him down here as a judge for THE DEADLY VENOMS jam.

  • Comment removed

  • @1ReaZon allow me to teach you some facts. Robotics does NOT consists of dimestops. Though it is currently used. You are incorrect. What it does consist of is what you are trying to describe which is a bounce effect, and to be even more exact. I can write a book on what MIME consists of and hitting is not one of them. And the frame by frame motion that you are refering to is called STROBING.

  • Even though Atari's hits were not as hard as P.J.'s. Atari used the floor better, his moves were more versatile from ground moves to Tuts which P.J. could not counter attack. ( thou I didn't like that Atari did two rounds of Tuts) But you can see a clear picture of Atari's rounds while Popping Johns rounds had less direction. I would like to make a correction. When P.J. tried to correct Atari on ANIMATION. Allow me to correct him as I corrected JOHN DOE his partner when we battle and I won.

  • First I would like to say that I would NEVER disrespect my ART for no one and no crew. I am more brutally honest with my friends and crew than with anyone. Everyone that knows me knows that. Especially THE DEADLY VENOMS and yes I AM A VENOM. This was a GREAT BATTLE by TWO talented poppers. I believe that although the battle was very close ATARI won. Poppin John's isolations and wave were stronger than Atari's, but his rounds were too long and his moves were to repetitive looking.

  • I didn't say you had to call him out, you just look like a punk when everyone stepped in that circle , boogz nao pj turbo , us .... And you were the only pussy talkin but not dancing ..... Defend yourself however you want you just looked like a fool and there's no way around it

  • Dog you're a joke , you can't even be called a popper you can't even do a basic hit , and then with the bone breaking crap.....You got called out and started whining...Omg what did i dooo....that's some pussy shit.... Yea you sure are brave on the Internet..... You smoke me?? Try it

  • Bwahahahhahaahaha. Then you are just obnoxious for the sake of being so, You were the one whining when you got called out, what did I do why is Chillski mad at me ... Then you came up to me saying ...you my nigguh right ..... That's some pussy shit

  • Please don't tell me you think you are anywhere near poppin John or ataris level

  • @Fiercevm Homey, don't worry 'bout who's level I'm on. U wanna know so bad, see me in da cypha! U do u & I'ma do me -- & SMOKE U IN THE PROCESS!! WORD IS BOND!

  • I got you on video trying to correct his tuts and shit when they weren't even battling yet ...you might not like it but normal people call people out when they have something to say about their dance, just saying... Do you're talking in the dance floor not beside it....and not on the Internet ...

  • Comment removed

  • @Fiercevm And? If I feel like correctin’ dude’s tuts whether or not he’s in battle mode, I’ma do it despite what you say or think. & if his shit was clean, tuts, animation & all, you wouldn’t have 2 worry about me correctin’ the dude – YEAH, I SAID IT… & what? & if I feel like callin’ anybody out, that’s my prerogative, homez! When I’m @ a jam in a cypha, I’m just vibin’ & havin’ fun & battle-itch free. Last time I checked, NORMAL PEOPLE DO THAT, TOO! – JUST SAYIN’. LOL!

  • Props 2 Atari 4 goin' in. I hope he continues 2 grow in this dance style.

  • Yo Bzo , I love how you were on the sidelines cheering poppin John on... The next time you have a correction or feel like dissing a popper such as atari step in the circle and actually call him out don't stand on the sideline cheerleading for someone else doing all the battling .... No one minds if you like popping John better .... But smack talking on the side is not cool when youre not doing any of the work yourself

  • @Fiercevm If u LOVE me cheerin’ Poppin’ John on so much, I’ma continue doin’ it. & about the shit-talkin’, I’ve done no such thing! So I was thinkin’ out loud @ about 3:40. That's not talkin’ shit. & I’ll say whatever I wanna say here on YouTube or @ any cypha of any jam. I ain’t got a problem seein’ Atari, Chillski (when he called me out @ 7:38), or YOU 4 that matter. I’ma end up pullin’ da same tactics Poppin’ John did & then some if ever I battle any of y’all.

  • There's another copy of this video on YouTube no one is deleting comments!

  • y where me and rivers comments removed? thats cheap man.. dnt be doing that crap or ppl just wnt bother with u at all g

  • Comment removed

  • @boxingboogie If ever that were to happen, River woud end up smokin' him like a blunt.

  • Atari killed it
