thank you so much for this. also to flamevtx, simply go to computer properties > advanced > performance settings then on visual effects scroll down to "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

and that shadow will go away

Works, tested and assured. The icons still get sorta ghostly, but its better than shadowy.
