  • Yeah. I been on nuva ring for 8 months and so far it's been ok. Each time I do insert a fresh ring I do get horrible nausea and vomiting. And occasionally I'll get mood swings. But nuva ring did help me out with weight loss. I lost 30 pounds! I used to be 140 and now I'm a slender 110. Good ol' puke and nuvaring!

  • all the reviews on this are the same, all bad i guess i need to search other option and there is not so much out there

  • I love your hair!!!!

  • Were you on birth control before? Any kind?

  • @dillpickleboocutie I did take ortho tri cyclin low when I was like 18/19 but the same thing happened to me. My acne got sooo bad that the dermatologist recommended Accutane. It took me years to get my skin under control after that fiasco. I took that birth control for about 6 months.

  • @dermlover1 I definitely had the Nuva Ring in for 20 minutes and took it out. I'm never using that again, I'm back on my Tri Cyclin Lo on Monday. Thanks for the video :)

  • @dermlover1 hey did your acne get better? and when did you stop taking it.

  • @BurnKilluminati Yes, my acne is pretty much gone now. I stopped taking it about 6 months ago. It took my face about 3-5 months to really go back to normal.

  • @dermlover1 hey thanks for replying, btw when you went on accutane, were you still on birth control and how long were you on it, i mean did you stop when you stopped accutane, or a little later? I went on BC only for accutane, but I am scared my hormones are out of whackk cuz it broke me out like crazyy, i hope accutane gets rid of the underneath bumps. I took BC for 4 months while on accutane, I am now 2 months post accutane, i just hope my hormones balance out soon!

  • @BurnKilluminati No, I went off BC when I was on Accutane. I had to lie and say I was still on it though. I did not have a boyfriend so it did not matter anyways. Accutane breaks you out REALLY bad at first. it's really scary. It's not the BC it's the Accutane. The same thing happened to me. It will get better. Mine did. You just need to be patient and keep taking your meds accordingly. Accutane will get rid of almost everything.

  • @BurnKilluminati It will take an average of 3 months for your hormones to balance out after taking BC (give or take a few months).

  • the dr told me today that nuva ring has the lowest estrogen content pretty much. i think it depends what each womans hormones are like already. i wonder if women who have good experiences with bc are ones whose hormones are very low or imbalanced and it helps them. those that have normal levels end up with too much and side effects i dunno.ive heard higher estrogen content helps skin.

  • shit... i have been on the nuvaring for 5 years, I get 3 or 4 pimples the week before i have to take the ring out.. And I have Bipolar symptoms all the freaking time and Depression as well... But really scared to get off it cuz 2 years ago I took it out for 5 months then after those 5 months I had a really heavy period that last 3 weeks I'm talking about changing 2 maxi pads every 1-2 hours... I spoke with the Ob/Gyn and went back on the ring and in 2 days heavy period stopped...

  • @lizzyram85 My period got really light on NuvaRing. As soon as I took it out my horrible cramps and heavy bleeding started again. I would rather endure 1 day of pain over acne and depression any day. I am still dealing with horrible chin acne from using this for 3 months. Not fun.

  • my mom's friend had an IUD and died of cervical cancer. The doctor said there was no connection, but I honestly believe the IUD caused it. I will never get one.

  • @tripvids420 Oh my goodness. I am sorry to hear that. I am not going to use any hormonal or invasive forms of birth control anymore. Thanks for the insight.

  • I also forgot to mention, I had really bad acne while on it, but was still bad getting off of it. So my face is just freaking out on me.I was on it for 8 months, worst mistake ever. I hope your face clears up soon, best of luck. I hope mine does too.

  • @livyx3glamm Try drinking carrot juice. I think it helps dry out the pimples quicker. I also think that cutting back on dairy may also help. A lot of dermatologists say that acne and food are not related, but as someone that suffers from mild acne and has suffered from cystic acne, I feel that there is a correlation between diet and acne. Our skin is the largest elimination organ we have in our body.

  • @livyx3glamm I tried eliminating things I thought were triggers, like milk and cheese, and I did notice that my breakouts improved to a degree (not gone completely). You have to do trial and error with acne but I think there is a way to improve it significantly, you just have to be consistent with your skin care and diet. Don't got to bed with your makeup and use your acne treatments as directed by your physician. I hope this helped some :)

  • @dermlover1 Thanks! I'll be uploading a video about my nuva ring experience soon! And good luck and hope we both figure this out! : )

  • Hey, I am currently dealing with the side effects of getting off the nuva ring, has your acne cleared up? I had a rash like acne, all over. I am on a antibiotic gel for my face, but im afraid that my hormones are permanently messed up. What are you doing now for your face? I was on it for 8 months, : (

  • @livyx3glamm I did not get acne after I got off the NuvaRing. I actually got more acne while I was on it. I was on it for 3 months. I have been off of it for about 2 weeks now. My acne has improved so far but I am left with all the red marks and some pimples that are in the process of healing as we speak. I totally understand why you think your hormones are permanently messed up. I had a lot of problems on ortho-tri-cyclin lo and when I went off it I had to go on accutane for my acne.

  • @livyx3glamm I am using retin-a, sulfacetamide sodium topical suspension 10%, and sunblock. I drink carrot juice almost every day and I take fish oil and a multivitamin daily. I think all those things have helped clear up with my skin. I think getting monthly glycolic peels really really helps too. I was doing that for a while before my rhinoplasty and my skin was flawless. I used to get compliments all the time. I might go back to doing that actually. Maybe it would work for you too.

  • @livyx3glamm I used to get the 50% and sometimes 70% glycolic acid. I hope your side effects clear up. Let me know if you have any more questions.
