  • Rest In Peace Grandpa Jim. You were a great man

  • Rest well, Grandpa John and Uncle Russel.

  • Lay in our racks at POA... Good memories.

  • Actually they *did* die so you could say that.

  • For vets thinking about suicide. Your mission now (should you choose to accept it) is autonomy, self-sufficiency. A tall order.. true. Im 50 and still working at it but I'll goddamned if I'm giving up. Know: you can choose your thoughts. dont let your brain push you around. Start reading.. "how to raise your self-esteem" by branden. Go to meetings any meeting will do. The brain stops squawking with "whats my next thought" notice youre still alive and not thinking. try it goddamnit... right now!

  • I will be having this song played during my funeral:( I hope my kids will be proud of me

  • @rippedpixel You go ahead, I don't like my anthem anyway (Y) Still, cheesy.

  • @bananeskit Not liking your anthem doesn't mean you tarnish this song with your slander. Along us American's to honor our dead as we do no such thing to defile the songs to honor yours. Have some common respect as a human and let taps be sounded. You may not understand, but this song means a lot to people who have heard it sounded at the funeral of a loved one.

R.I.P Brother, you came home proudly with the flag draped over your casket. We all miss you.

  • A note for the person that put this up: Taps is "sounded" not "played". Just FYI. :)

  • for all fallen solders...

  • @hycarltogamanx way to disrespect peoples dads, uncles, even brothers, that go out every day to serve our country, will or not, and die in the line of battle so we can sleep comftorably at night. It's because of them that we and your sorry ass is still alive. Show some balls and respect and man up. Ignorant Fuck.

  • Alex, we salute you.

  • Yesterday, December 7th 1941, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan....I regret to tell you that many American lives have been lost....But always will our nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory. --FDR, December 8th, 1941

  • December 7th 1941...70 years ago, You are remembered and appreciated.

  • R.I.P. GTA IV

  • R.I.P Giddy ( My grandfather who served in Vietnam and got diagnosed by cancer after getting poisned by being to closs to an agent orange spray

  • They played this at my, Grandfathers funeral, he served in WW2. They gave him a 21 gun Salute with M1 Garands, He told me about the M1 Carbines they had, and some of his fellow frog men shaved the firing pin down just a little and it would fire 15 rounds faster than you could blink!

  • I have played this call only once in my life, at the funeral of a fellow soldier. Every time i hear this coming out of a cemetery, i know another brave man/woman has payed the ultimate price.

I challenge anyone who reads this to, whenever you hear this, take your hat off and show the proper respect to the one who is being laid to rest. Freedom isn't free, and someday, it might be someone you know in that flag-shrouded casket.

  • R.I.P grandfather bob wright, you did your job and it was a shame it had to end the way it did, you did your country proud.

  • I live in the United States of America. The individual who installs solar panels must be ashamed of his nation, otherwise he would have mentioned it proudly, as I did. I will compare my quality of life with any other nation period. Junior, I have respect for people who respect me. It's a give & take thing. For those who disrespect, they get a sock in the neck. This advise will do you good in life's journey. Otherwise. I see nothing but conflict for you.

  • As we draw near to the 11th of November, In loving memory of the Americans who gave the last full Measure, 1917-1918, and those who served as Volunteers in the LaFayette Escadrille prior to America's entry into the war.

  • @Nockahomer95 JENGA

  • RIP ESPN Fanboard

  • trollface.jpeg imma play this at a wedding

  • measures 3 and 4, rythyms are wrong. straight 8ths. not dotted 8th + 16th

  • @MrRoflcopter15 It's whatever a person chooses it to be, if you can find me the original artist, and the paper he wrote it on, I will gladly take my statement back. Let musicians do what musicians do best...make music.

  • @aaronaaron87 The united States military has a very specific way they play taps. It is common for "artists" to take their own liberties with the tune. However the official way, and the only way currently accepted by the military and at military services, is straight 8ths in that section. Playing it another way would be like wring that Star Spangled Banner in the key of D. You just dont do it. The only acceptable keys are Bb and F.

  • Love you, my Brother.

  • support our troops but screw the military industrial complex.

  • My grandpaw was in WWII and was very proud of his service in the US Army. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. RIP Grandpaw.

  • Going to military camp/seriously considering a few years in the army, I am astounded by the sheer power this music pulls from deep within your soul. And this is coming from a child.

  • RIP all of those solders who fought for our freedom and liberty.

    From a fellow american

  • I hear this... and while it's supposed to be sort of sad, all I can focus on is how it's played with the notes of an arpeggio and NOTHING ELSE.

  • we stand at attention 2 honor the brave soldiers that lost their lives 2 keep our country free may they rest in peace knowing they gave their lives 4 their country (salute)

  • this song had to be the hardest part of my dad's funeral July 1st. his death was so sudden and it is a night i will never forget and cannot get out of my head for so many reasons. He was in the Air Force and after being honorably discharged spent the rest of his life building military aircraft. I miss you so much daddy! i'll miss you so much at graduation! RIP

  • Taps is the bugle call that signifies the end of the soldier's day. Time for bed. It is played at graveside for the same reason, it is the end for a soldier, time for rest. Just a longer period. No disrespect there, but it will be a longer rest.

  • RIP all the American soldiers that have died in service. Hi from the ADF in Western Australia

  • When they played this at my great grandfather's funeral my entire family just lost it. My aunts, my brothers and sisters, my cousins, mostly everyone. He fought at Okinawa and enlisted at 17. He served on the USS Colorado (BB-45). He died of Small Cell Cancer on Thursday August 4th at 10:08 AM. He turned 84 on June 27th.

  • grandpa, you will always be remembered....but whoever likes this should watch LEGO TAPS.WMV

  • My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones recently. May the know that their loved ones will never be forgotten. Thank You to the Men and Women serving and risking their lives everyday for us. God be with you and to the families of Seal Team 6 and the other that died with them. May they rest in peace. 08/05/2011 OORAH/HOOAH/HOOYAH.

  • ‎31 lost, 31 unwanted visits, 31 doors receive that dreaded knock, 31 families with shattered hearts, 31 pairs of boots lined up with rifles and dogtags and helmets, 31 comrades remembered and grieved for, 31 funeral services, 31 names on newly made grave markers, 31 empty places at the table, 31 souls who gave all and who leave a void, so let's take 31 seconds to repost this and pray for those families

  • Rest in peace my father.
