OK SO HERE'S MY THING. WHY NOT SEPARATE THE RADIATION PARTICLES INTO 2 SEPARATE BEAMS AND THE ONLY TIME THEY BECOME "DESTRUCTIVE" IS WHEN THE 2 SEPARATE BEAMS COLLIDE. @samantha34ize although radioation can cause cancer, it is also used to treat it. i can understand the logic behind your statement. Radiotherapy has been proven to treat tumours, although there remains a risk of inducing a secondary tumour due to radiotherapy, but the benefit of using radiation to cure cancer is much much more than the risk! hope this changes your outlook on radiotherapy

@xrayeyesb4u it was administered about 6 years ago, at first she swollen up, but now she has had an amazing recover, she is active and healthy and spends time playing with her grand children every day.

@samantha34ize it really is a fucking scam. It will come back for sure. You may destroy the tumour temporarily, but you are causing a lot of new mutations in dna of cells affected by the radiation. I highly discredit this oncologist's confidence in the new radiation therapy technology not affecting healthy, surrounding cells. I really do believe he's full of shit. Think about it !!

Hey I wish you guys good luck and don't give up hope :) I lost my lil sis a few weeks ago to childhood lukemia, but ever since i first heard she had cancer I have been studying to become an Oncologist :) I've only got 5 more years and I can get a job and do what I love :)

@Haloskulls117 Get more information first before you criticize radiation therapy. Radiation therapy affects ONLY the area that it is aimed at. The radiation is more than a X-ray machine does at any one point, but not lethal enough to kill. I also had a team of trained professionals (meaning doctorates and what not) who knew what they were doing as they pointed the machine at my head. They calibrate the machines weekly to ensure they are working.

Radiation if used correctly will not kill.

@Sanosuke004 not true, radiation kills the cancer before it kills you, so that way. the doctors can avoid lawsuits. if you still have the cancer, try the 30 day diet of raw vegtables, it works. and it may target the part of your body that has the cancer, but sense when does "radiation" sound like a good treatment for a major illness? that stuff was used to kill thousands.

My brother is going through radiation therapy this week for his thyroid tumor. He had his thyroid removed three weeks ago and now will go through the use of a radiation treatment (beta and gamma) to isolate and remove remnants of the tumor. We're praying for his speedy recovery.
