I live in Wisconsin and happened to watch this meteor fly over. What happened was that it actually exploded, some where over south central WI. A second or two after it exploded, you could hear a sonic boom, another second later everything shook. It was one of the most amazing things I've experienced in my life.

They claim it exploded into small pieces. Hmm. Must have made a huge amount of "small pieces" then. And at that low altitude most of them should have made it onto the ground. Anyone heard of anybody fnding any of the bits?

Im from australia and i recall a night when i saw a meteor light up the entire sky, turns out it was the size of a tennis ball, so they seem huge because of the masive fireball around them, and the long streak behind them. Also by the time a meteor reaches the ground its something like 1/100 of its original size.
