He did go onto play for Melbourne for 2 seasons and played some great footy! So if 28/29 is past someones prime, the Cornes brothers, Rodan, Motlop, Brogan etc, would be lining up for the dole if you had your way! Then again, Port likes to shit on their Champions. Never raised an elbow during his time in the AFL (98-07) unlike players like Leigh Mathews, "Dipper", Gary Ablett snr who are considered "tough"? More like dirty. Fair hip-n-shoulder and count yourselves lucky those who were present at the game that night; that was the last time you were going to see the hip-n-shoulder in all its glory. My favourite player since he first started and a proud cousin to Byron.

Port never choked because they were never regarded the best team.
Port just missed out on 2 grand finals but lost to Brisbane in both prelim finals. In third year Port played and thumped Brisbane in grand final to be premiers.
That Brisbane team are thought of as the best team ever seen. Port did better than 15 other teams that were all bigger chokers through those years.
Choker label is not offensive it just shows how dunb people are.

Now please pay attention - FACT: The AFL community had coined the phrase "Chokers" with respect to Port Adelaide's miserable finals campaign for the same 3 years they were minor premiers. The Crows were NEVER labelled chokers. Many teams don't win the flag after one minor premiership but THREE??? If I'm in denial then you must be in a coma ROLMFAO!

You can call Pickett a cheat, you can call Port chokers but you have to look at the 5 finals campaigns you screwed up and the typical attitude that your club has that it was "good enough" will never get you anywhere so good luck with that :)

Pity Byron got away with it for as long as he did really. Who knows, if Byron hadn't paved the way for a rules shake up maybe Bickley could of just kept on going and jumped studs first into wakelin's crotch :)

In any case I don't think there is anything wrong here - he didn't hit Biglands high, Biglands ran past the ball with his arm out to shepherd Pickett and the commentators agreed as well as the umpires - there have been other incidents where Pickett deserved to be sighted but this isn't one of them
