Putting out water might attract them, if there's no other local reliable source, but just having the garden quiet and sheltered might encourage them to stay. But they're so unpredictable. One of my foxes is currently refusing to cross the fence despite visiting for years! At this time of year in particular, movement patterns can hard to predict.
There are foxes on the bank of the railway line about 300-400 yards from my house, is there a good way to encourage them to the garden?

Thanks! This was actually in my neighbour's garden - wish the badgers would come my side of the fence!
