  • How could I incorporate this into my boxing? I've been searching all over the web to get a better understanding of this way of punching but I'm not too sure how it will work in boxing.. could you share any ideas?

  • (excuse my bad spelling pls)

  • is this the same principle within the 1 inch punch, but i dont understand where the velocity comes from if so? where as a reverse punch as all that momentum behind it, i think understand gyaku zuki in the same way u do so it is nice to see someone else doing a vid this way, thank u!

  • @deanpool Hi. Thanks for the positive feedback. I think it has similarities with the 1 inch punch in that it uses a "whip" principle. But I believe that the one inch punch (as demonstrated by Bruce Lee) works more on a vertical whiping motion rather than rotational one as in this video. That said, to be perfectly honest, I'm not really sure!

  • Thank you for restoring my faith in Karate.

  • @Paddyplus1 Wow, that's a very statement. Thank you.

  • is this the most powerful way to throw a punch? im 6'7" and it seems that if i hit someone with this technique it would be devastating

  • @jthrillsnskills

I don't know if it "the most powerfull" way, (depends who you ask)! Certainly though it will be one of the most powerfull ways. I agree, it will be devastating, but if you have to fight for your life (or for the safety of your loved ones) then I'd say fair enough. As long as you are not the one initiating the fight (which I doubt you would), then you use what you have to when the time arises.

  • i figured out how to punch this way on my own :) try adding a 9 inch blade to the mix and it can be lightning quick

  • @jthrillsnskills

A nine inch blade!!!!! Yes that would definitely motivate me to move faster :)

    Thanks for your comment.
