GTA IV EFLC slow texture loading

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!

GTX 550 TI

i3 540

4 RAM

mines is doing the same thing on the 64 bit version of windows 7 so its not windows.

My pc spec:

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

Athlon II x4 640 @ 3.0Ghz

4Gb DDR2

Nvidia Geforce GT240 1GB

It is all the car mods you have,I have the same problem. It's Rockstar's fault for a bad PC-Port.

@Roblok100 Yea, i have the 100 car pack v8 mod and because of the taxi bug, i have to run a traffic spawner/taxi bug fix. If i take the bug fix/spawner out it works fine....BUT I SEE TAXIS ONLY....sigh. Really sucks donkey balls. If anyone found a way around this, please post it for a free internet BJ. K thanx bye.

Hey guys, I've seen this a lot before and I heard that if you play GTA IV with all grahpic settings on it lowest you won't have these problems.

Offcoarse, low graphics aint really good but I've seen people playing with garphic modifications and there are no problems like these.

So I suggest you put all settings on it lowest and you install a graphic mod.

I'm having the same problem. I have:

ATI Radeon 6950 2GB

AMD phenom II x4 980 black @3.7GHz

8GB RAM @1600MHz

Everything's fine but the textures load slowly. I can Crysis on the highest settings with around 30FPS but I can't play this.

GTA IV is good if u play it on xbox and ps3 and i dont have none of it. Rockstar made the requirements so high that even some of the best systems are not able to run it at high setting so pc gamers(which means u and me and others) have to stay with GTA IV lag for ever

I have an x2 3.1Ghz (+HD5770 1GB) and same issues so I think the problem is somewhere else...

@balee94 Your comment makes no sense. And if you think all fast processors are made for gaming then you really are not that smart. I didn't say Athlon's can't run new games, in fact I'm sure it will run all current games.

@alexvtiger I think this "made for gaming" thing is over hyped. Some developers are just don't care about the optimalisation part... for the example I can easily max out Dirt 3, which is a far more beautiful game with more complex physics.

you need to defrag the gta eflc folder becose maybe your pc cant acces the files fast

@falcont2t Check your ATi Drivers for the video card! In GTA 4 i only get this issue with the latest patch 1.0.7, but with patch 1.0.3 or 1.0.4 works just great!

This happened to me, but it somehow got fixed with a graphics environmental mod. Well i hope you got this fixed by now.

@sauzmorn Don't really think that's the cause. I tried on very low too, but anyway for my specs the settings are optimum. Got 40fps 95% of the time.

Use -norestrictions and then set your view distance to about 40 and your detail to 36. This worked for me.

That's quite weird :/ Maybe a issue inside your computer? maybe a full reinstall of win 7 might be an idea

@DubSanta When i built the pc i installed win 7 (first win ever) and GTA was the first game that i installed. I'm planning to switch to x64 though, but can't find the time (a lot of back-ups to do).

Remove your crappy texture mod. Get rid of all mods actually.

@DubSanta Actually i had this issue way before i installed any add-on/mod. And its not a texture mod (original textures), its a visual settings mod.
