this just happened to a mouse that we had been taking care of. the botfly larve was almost half the size of the mouse. somehow the mouse is still alive. i burned the larvea with fire for hurting my mouselol . any way i think the mouse will die but is there any hope for him? hes running around but im doubt full

Wow: I looked this up 'cuz I was just outside + saw a tiny mouse stagger onto the patio. So I brought it inside + turned it over to see if a cat had bit it + then I saw the bot fly larva head, OMG.

I got a safety pin + pulled it out, but it was already too late for the poor mouse. The larva was as big as the mouse's head! THEN I saw a second, smaller larva. I pulled that out too, + I squished them both dead.

THE MOST DISGUSTING thing I have EVER seen, ugh ugh ugh.

I suggest you cut the peice of carpet the mouse was on and splash alcahol or gasoline on it and set it on fire. It is a very nasty parasite larva. It consumes the mouse practically and can easily spred.
