  • saw this guys as the opening band for another group. they had an asian bass player? ahh! can't remember who the other band was. instant fan after i saw them play first.

  • a different jazzmaster there!

  • Just got goose bumps..... everywhere

  • @FeederGunsNRoses hi mate you commented on my other channel FEEDERmusic can you get the name out thee

  • Oh my god such a great performance! Why doesn't grant sing like that anymore, or he doesn't seem to. He seemed to sing songs as they sounded when recorded.

  • @FeederGunsNRoses I've noticed that happens with a lot of singers over time. Don't forget he's like 43 (I think) and has been touring with feeder for 20 years. The schedule is bound to have an effect on your voice. On some singers it suits them and they sound better, with others it gets worse. I guess that's the way it is.

  • serious.. taka is seiously underrated...hes kickin ass on thebass..he needs better basslines now! his basslines frm polythene are kickkkass!

  • Grant was 30 then .. and he was AWESOME !!!

  • wow the good old times

    i like it very much

    Jon Lee R.I.P.

  • I'm 22. When I was 14 I was smoking weed to this song. lol Feeder really do make fucking awesome music, and its always the lyrics that make it, grant tops it every time

  • LOVE THIS FUCKING AMAZING LIVE!!!

  • jon lee.. u are amazing... rip.

  • great band!

  • Has anyone got the rest of this performance anywhere?

  • great live vocals!!

  • I was there!

    Best day of my teens!

  • me too! what a great sunny 2nd on the bill set it was too.

  • I have such fond memories of this song, polythene was my first album aged 7 - I was obviously a disturbed child, listening to ROCK haha. Then all those times in the park as a teenager playing this album over and over with my friends, GOOD TIMES!

  • Perfect performance

  • No it's not, they play it too fast when it's live and it bugs the shit out of me. Why can't they play it the same tempo as in the recording? It ruins the feel of the song when it's too fast.

  • @macintologist04 Its the Adrenaline. Are you a musician? cos if you are you may understand. Its pretty hard to play a slow song when your body is so full of excitement. All bands do it.

  • their best song :)

  • reading 1996 setlist:

    Waterfall

    Chicken on a bone

    Radiation

    Sweet 16

    Cement

    Shade

    Descend

The last 4 probably made the list in 1997 along with High and My Perfect Day. That's my guess

  • Reading 97

STEREO WORLD / MY PERFECT DAY / CRASH / DESCEND / CEMENT / HIGH / SHADE

  • That's some sweet set. The crowd obviously had a bless. This video and the one with Descend really make you think they were popular but they weren't well known at all back then if I am correct

Shade is Feeder's best closer imo. What a wicked live song that is. Why isn't there any live video of Shade?

  • Not sure why, maybe the TV channels did not think it was mainstream enough to show?, mind you BBC Three shown "Descend" from glastonbury but I don't think they ever shown the name of the song in the captions!.

Nope back then Feeder in 1997 when this was performed, they had their biggest hit when "Crash" was at #48 in the charts that very day. They were before last on the bill after Radish and were followed up Dog Eat Dog and the Descendents, Metallica were the headliners.

  • FEEDER NEVER STOP GETTING BETTER

  • we'd all grow old.. can u imagine Grant is 41 year-old already?! my god.. he was 30 then!

  • Anybody know what feeder's setlist for this day was?

  • don't know but it should have been an amazing setlist.

  • I wonder if they'd have started circle pits for Tangerine...

  • This songs being played at my funeral...

Wow ok everyone.. Happy thoughts HAPPY THOUGHTS

  • I'm missing the old Feeder sound.

    They were SOOOO great

    Now they're just good ;-(

  • Me too

I so agree with that :'(

  • if they kept spewing out the same old stuff, it would get boring, but i do wish they would give the grunge 1 more shot, hopefully wiv the new album, if they find a record deal :(

  • cant see johnny well

only from behind his back O:

  • gosh, in 1997 feeder was my favorite band because of this song. Today they are my favorite band because of a few more songs added from their catalog.

But they were so awesome live back then

  • always have been and always will be awesome live!!.

  • I was there, they were great

  • Jon....... (weep)

  • Sooooo much better than the 06 reading performance of high

  • amazing. those were the years.

  • Gawd, these were the days! Has anyone got the rest of this performance at all? Top tune froma top band, I miss it when they sounded like that

  • yeah, I sometimes feel they kinda lost their energy. They were young and powerful, but now they're just different

It's not necessarily good or bad though.

  • fantastic

  • I love Feeder. First saw them at the good old exposure rock cafe in brum and was completely blown away. They have always stayed true to themselves and their fans by churning out brilliant song after another. Keep up the good work Grant, you are a legend!!

  • man i was there, down at the front ! takes me back,.. they supported reef on tour early in this year

  • wooo what an exelent proformance i want this vesion of the the song!

  • First time I ever saw Feeder, this was.

  • feeder have always dominated festivals were ever they go, its a pity they can't dominate the charts

  • I love this song!

You should do Tinsel Town when you come to Manchester in October of this year

I love every song feeder have ever done :):)

    Die hard fan XD

    :D

  • Was on the barrier for the whole of Feeder and the Stereophonics sets tat Sunday. Always makes me glow when I hear this. Saw them at 06 aswell and it felt like watching a child grow up

  • there has to be more footage of this gig, FEEDERWEB get it on here!!!

high and descend are great but it would be sweet to see live footage of songs like sweet 16 and others of polythene and swim.

  • oh my god the grant's voice in this era was totaly amazong

  • Geez I know, you should see the video for descend at this gig. His singing just blows you away.

  • just fucking amazing, my fav "live" ever

  • Hope they play this at Leeds 11 years aon... don't think they did in 2006.

  • they are!

    its gonna be awesome :]

  • there are some videos with their 2006 performance here on youtube, and they're gonna rock this year!!

  • wow that is intensely good!

  • Not long til the new album!!!!

  • Also, the best version of High I've heard.

  • And amen to that :)

  • This has to be the best version of the song I've heard. Joint top with Wembley 2003, Hammersmith 2004, Reading 2002 (that acoustic guitar just gives me shivers for starters), Leeds Met 2001 and Newport Centre 2003 :D :D :D.

  • Great stuff! They may have gone a bit downhill but they sure always know how to put on a good live show. Can't wait til their new album is out.

  • Wonderful!

  • thanx!
