Winston Grennan was a very good and powerful drummer. He was also a very nice person and self taught professional drummer that originated quite a few drumming styles and technique in Reggae Music and also the New York Disco scene. I know him personally and watched him play a lot of times, while working with Toots & The Maytals. He was also an undefeated boxer with a 30-0 stat. For real!!!  .

Yes, Winston Grennan passed away a few years ago. But this is just a classic. He used to play with Kid Creole and The Coconuts.... very great percussionist and drummer.

I saw winston grennan in columbia, maryland in the 80"s , I did not know much about him, but after he played I was amazed by his playing. After the show his bus was parked at the club and i asked one his band members if i could have a word with him and he (winston) said yes man. I said to him you are suppose to be in the archives and he said i am already in there.I moved to Michigan and i always ask my reggae brother about him and they told me he had passed away. He made a difference in music .
