  • Just saw this on dvd, wow...such a chilling ending, mainly when baby said "what will happen to us?" and earl is like "I dont know" pretty much saying you wont have a future because you'll be dead....powerful ending to a series. This show is warning us to NOT trust corpations and its true, you have been warned.

  • I consider this a brilliant ending. Moving and brilliant. Although too"eco-centered".

  • and soo the ice age began

  • Lavos killed the dinosaurs.

  • Oh I get it it was propaganda to make us environmentalists

  • Lol at himogonistic triceratops. This was made to make everyone liberal green party activists. Btw Fuck Globalizaton and Himogony.

  • This ending of this show was a warning and we still haven't taken any action...

  • my God I remember this. This scarred me as a kid. I was like "... they killed everyone. THEY KILLED EVERYONE." /cue tears

  • this was a creepy yet eye opening way to end a tv show yet i think it was a little bit overbored for a kids show. i remember watching this when i was 6 and not really understanding it in full.

  • Geezus that was horrible.

    "bye-bye juice"

  • People do not like this ending because it's sad, but don't you guys realize what they are trying to teach us? As humans we do stupid things like this all the time that could one day wipe us all out as a whole. I could totally see this happening in the future where they attempt to handle a major crisis by using harmful chemicals/tactics that haven't been tested yet. It sounds crazy, but I can fully see it happening.

  • Actually the reason for this episode was to end the series due to falling ratings

  • @allie103089 thats why your commenting on youtube and not anywhere useful..

  • @3KingG As if our media or government would allow me to post useful information like this. They hide this stuff on purpose and have in the past even murdered anyone who dares to let out the truth about the consequences.

  • @allie103089 so why aren't you dead yet if the government does that

  • @3KingG It's called "soft kill" meaning it may not happen immediately, but slowly over time it will wipe out the human species. Call me crazy all you want if you wish, but it will happen. Perhaps not during our generation, but perhaps the next generation or the one after that will be the ones to suffer.

  • @3KingG I was not intending to spread the word to the world. I was just stating what the creator of the show was trying to do.

  • I finally get the name of the dinosaur news anchor's name. Howard Handupme (Hand-up-me) because he's a puppet. Damn, I'm slow.

  • The ending is very much our future as a species. It's our doom that we're too apathetic and selfish to pay attention to. Contrary to popular belief, our species is not stupid, many just make stupid decisions.

  • this was a sad ending to this show....this was one of my favorite shows

  • This ending is so depressing. I think this show should'nt of been on disney.

  • The reason why this show ended so tragically was that Jim Henson was a strong enviromintilst and wanted to show the reality that dinosaurs are gone. The ending was originally going to be different under Disneys urging. Since kids were watching the sitcom they didn't want to put all the cast dieing at the end. But half way through the production of the show Jim Henson passed away. So out of tribute and memory they decided to do the show the original way he had planned it.

  • Incredible conclusion. I used to watch this show when I was a kid. It wasn't until recently that I picked up the DVD's and started watching them for the first time as an adult. I'm assuming they ended it this way because they were informed that the series would be cancelled after this season, so I'm glad they ended it with a thought-provoking ending instead of just kind of dropping off and disappearing. Thumbs up from me. Way up.

  • @devildeggs Agreed

  • If Jim Henson were here and executive producing this show, he'd have be REALLY reluctant to end the show this way.

  • @KTKomedy2813 actually that's the way he wanted to end the series...the network was going to have a happy ending but out of respect for jim..they ended it like he wanted it to

  • This is like the creepiest ending to a show ever. I remember watching this when I was little and recently my brother and I looked this up because we didn't remember how the show ended...sosososocreepy

  • such a depressing end to a show that was a situation comedy

  • @CodArk2 I think the reason people tend to attack conservatives, who exist world wide they're just known as Republicans state-side, is because Republicans have famously opposed both the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and sought to end regulations on industries which contribute the majority of pollutants to the environment. Why don't you read about the state of Texas since its Republican Governor Rick Perry started deregulating industry.

  • @mtsusociologist I live in texas, so I know all about rick perry (even if i didn't vote for him). However, this show did not mention republicans at all. it was corporate greed that ended the dinosaurs in this show, there was nothing about the republicans or democrats. That said, liberal politicians oppose regulations too if it gets them re-elected

  • @CodArk2 I never said the video mentioned conservatives, I defended why people tend to attack conservatives. Why don't you read more carefully next time.

  • @mtsusociologist Republic here. You're full of shit, faggot. I am not opposed to the EPA. I'm opposed to gay marriage and economic liberalism. I am for the preservation of the American political culture, constitutional rights, environment protection, and foreign affair conservatism.

  • @GrimReaper1169

How does being (or not being) homosexual have anything to do with your political views? Calling people gay who have an opposing view is pretty cheap. Grow up.

  • @GrimReaper1169 Go cry to someone who cares loser. I'm sorry that your little white Murka is changing and you can't seem to scrape yourself off of your petty concerns over how others live their lives long enough to temporarily evolve.

  • It always got me that such a funny show - I remember a tv critic calling it the prehistoric version of The Simpsons - ended on such a serious, socially-consious note. "Goodnight, goodbye." Wow.

  • very sad

  • Bunch of tree hugging panty waists!

  • ..My god...Why is this ending so fucking dark? Isn't this a Sitcom? I mean what the fucking hell.

  • @sonic5993 Dark ending? It's a warning to our species.

  • @CosmicGrounds By killing off the entire main cast with a melancholic jingle?

  • @sonic5993 Sure, why not?

  • This ending, for me, is up there with Bambi's Mom getting shot as one of the most traumatizing things in my childhood!

  • A sad ending then ever before :-( Now this could happen

when you destroy the nature. Sad ending :-(

  • So depressive. I remember watching this as a kid and it made me so sad.

  • This show highlighted a lot of problems and issues in society, so it doesn't surprise me it ended the same way, I was just shocked at how dark it was (I never got to see the series ending when I was little).

Still, the ending was inevitable really, and the fact it was a comedy series really made the message it sent out all the more powerful.

  • Take care of this world its the only one we've got. This changed all my views as a child even, I grew up watching this show and it got through to me even at a young age.

  • Sinclair was the first to be eaten.

  • Seriously made me want to cry!

  • That was beyond fucked up

  • This was so sad :'( Thank the lord I never saw this when it first came on TV.

  • omg that was really disturbing for a kid show

  • this is like the saddest series finale ive seen really miss this show :(

  • @video64ps2 #1 most f'ed up too, I honestly hate how they ended this . I mean think of about one of your favorite childhood memories being brought to an extremely f'ed up end that you would never recover from (okay not really, but you know what I mean).

  • @xPSYKOxLIBBYx

Exactly. I know people must learn to respect our planet, but is it really necessary to teach that by killing our favorite heroes? That just ain't fair. (And besides, people haven't learned the lesson.)

  • I can't remember if I ever watching this show but surfing thro cracked.com and reading about how depressing the ending is :(

  • @saralavedure17

Ironically...our fate would be likely the same.

  • This was an awsome show! man I miss the 90s!

  • Who knows? Maybe ALL MY CHILDREN will end like this tomorrow.

  • Such a democratic liberal show lol.

  • @TheMango121

    how about intelligent and forseeing?

  • @UffUffsen

Are you implying that democrats/liberal/progressive are intelligent and foreseeing?

LOL HAVE YOU BEEN PAYING ATTENTION THE LAST 4 YEARS?

Its like GEORGE BUSH Jr. is pulling an FDR and in his 3rd term.

Democrats republicans are the same thing.

  • @TheMango121

since im european and i dont really have a political opinion in the "normal" way , I only see the message here and its wrong in your understanding right? If thats so, i have no intention of interacting with you kind sir.

  • Such a sad way to end the series. Especially considering how upbeat it was. But I suppose there was no other way considering that was the ultimate fate of the dinosaurs. Still....

  • THEY COULD BRING THE SHOW BACK JUST SAY THEY SURVIVED THE ICE AGE AND SAY IT TAKES PLACE IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE

  • @alexander95573 Worst I wouldn't mind is some sort of future/reincarnated type deal where it's the same family as humans 65 million years later, but that's just me.

  • @alexander95573 i wish...

  • @alexander95573 Compared to you a neanderthal is a MENSA candidate.. :)

  • @anxresi well fuck you douche bag

  • NO MOTHER FUCKER THE BABY DIED TO YOUNG ITS NOT RIGHT IT IS SUPOSED TO BE A KIDS SHOW

  • Why was it concluded that everyone died. Yes dinosaurs are extinct and did die, but why for this show was it concluded that they died...I see everyone talkin bout how it is sad the baby does not get he's gonna die? The sun coulda came back up the next day.....I know its wrong, but I wish they woulda showed everyone frozen and dead so I cold safely conclude, this was the last of the dinosaur show

  • @ShakendraB Typically if you have extended winter and collapse of the entire ecosystem, which means, in turn collapse of all agriculture and food production, people die en masse.

Look up "The year without a summer" on wikipedia, its about the Mount Tambora eruption and its effects over the proceeding years. Even a drop in global temperature by 1.5 degrees C can cause huge problems with famine and food supply.

    So yeah, they all died.

  • "I always knew u'd screw things up"

  • I cried so hard at the end of this episode the first time I saw it. Second and third and forth times tool. Such a freakin' sad ending, but I couldn't conceive of a more fitting, more perfect one. Just pure brilliance right here. Why can't they make television like this anymore? You know, with QUALITY!

  • @Eliyora Because greedy corp owners are ruing everything for us from the environment to our lifestyle, keeping up tradition. It's extinct b/c of people like that boss.

I loved the music in this.

  • @Acharmye Maybe we should make them watch this episode to show where corporate greed can lead, so to speak. Maybe then they'd start to get the message.

  • @Eliyora I think this episode is powerful enough to do that. But I think corruption is holding everyone back.

  • @Acharmye Painfully true. *sigh* Sheesh.

  • @Eliyora I know. Why do a few greedy people *cough* oil & gas company *cough* have so much power and why can't so many people, who clearly see the problem, stop them?

  • @Acharmye It all comes down to money. Money has become too important. Those that have it get all the power, and those that don't have it are forced to tremble at their feet.

  • I liked the show, although Baby Sinclair could be more annoying than funny. And I thought Sherman Hemsley was a terrible choice for the voice of Earl's boss. Hemsley has a very distinctive voice, even more so when he yells, and he yelled ALL his lines on "Dinosaurs." It just didn't work, a dinosaur with the voice of George Jefferson. I thought the ending was perfect; dinosaurs DID cease to exist and I'm glad they didn't end the show with a lame, false happy ending.

  • i think the 'good night..... good bye'. is what hits the hardest. So final and dark.

  • @Loftusboi

The Irony is that one day we could hear this in TV ourselves. :-(

  • @Tabbimura It's not an irony, it's a warning.

  • @FluffyBunniesOnFire

You're right. And millions of years later some new sapient species will consider us dumb animals (which would be a correct term) that were destroyed by an asteroid or a volcano activity. They would never know that we killed ourselves :-(,

  • thats what i loved about the disney channel shows around this time. They didnt need to cater for kids, now the shows are dumbed down so much its ridiculous. It seems like everyone, like me, watched this when they were young and loved it. It was enjoyable and felt like i was growing up too! Brilliant show.

  • @Loftusboi Maybe it's the greedy people's way of stopping opposition, cut the stem, dumb it down so the kids are ignorant of these issues from the beginning...

  • Actually this is something of a good ending, even though it's depressing as fuck.

  • This is so damn disturbing. Does the baby live after everybody else dies, and just sits there and cries until he dies of the cold or starvation?

  • @aDinoSupremacist "But whatever it is, nobody is going to leave you"

If that was any indication....... they all froze together. The baby with them, all going to sleep, their last moments are all, still, as a family.

As sad as it is to say that.... the baby probably died earlier on if not at the same time as them. None of them were gonna leave him.

  • You know, I always believed that "The Land Before Time" would have an ending as depressing as this, only without the apocalyptic message and stuff.

  • GoodBye Sinclair Family

  • -cries-

  • This episode's so sad <3

  • I love dinosaurs

  • a very special episode

  • I almost forgot how evil Richfield was! 2 greedy!

  • WHAT THE HELL DID I WATCH? Was this really the ending to a sitcom that taught us about women’s rights, peer pressure, environmentalism, and civil rights? I don't even know what to think right now.

  • What a sad ending, but a great valueable lesson at the end.

  • How Prophetic..20yrs later and we are on the edge of such a crisis ourselves.

World reserve currency (dollar) failing more every day, threatening total economic collapse.

Racism and hatred between different races, religions, and political affiliations higher than ever.

Corporate Greed destroying the environment and trampling over the poor and middle class.

The very real threat of world Nuclear war between hostile nations.

all which leave a sad world for future gens as Earl as so nicely said

  • @gtw1983 Really prophetic, in one of the episodes, I think Green Card, the blue dinasaur was saying "Time are hard for everyone. My friends are losing their jobs. I think the economy's really getting bad." Isn't that a familiar story for Western countries atleast...

It's really peculiar how this show foreshadowed our problems today...

  • yay! they're finally dead!

  • I never even watched this show, but I was surfing through cracked and I'm already crying from this.

  • I remember this. I was like... ah, so that's how they went.

  • I remember crying hysterically as a child watching this back in '94. Just watched it again, and apparently not much has changed as I got really teary-eyed again. SUCH a good show!

  • Skipping the political banter...this was clever, but a bit morbid for a kids show. Glad, somehow, I missed this as a kid....then again, maybe I just blocked it out of my memory. I hope I just had better things to worry about in 1994.

  • @silntdoogood Same here, though then again I don't remember everything I saw back then.

  • I think the boss not dying on air was to keep him hated. As for the end, hey as much as we cry at the idea of it, points to the writers for being honest...Dinosaurs are extinct. It would've been a lot better if it wasn't a children' s show though LOL

  • when the world comes to an end...

    Wolf's Rain

  • 65 million years later and it's happening again.

  • @NashvilleKildCountry Some things never change, do they?

  • IF SO THEN REPUBLICANS ARE A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES !

  • @64DROC1 The guy is a democrat who just wants to soil the name of republicans. Not all republicans are greedy assholes, in fact, you'll find the greedy assholes come from both the republicans and democrats. The whole "republicans love money" is just a stereotype. Democrats and republicans are both guilty of being money hungry assholes, but not all republicans and democrats are greedy sobs.

  • @64DROC1 uh, people are assholes. being an asshole is not limited to one particular political ideology. Why do you people keep bringing republicans into this, democrats can pollute too, and industrial pollution was going on in europe first, which as far as i know, has no republicans

  • @CodArk2 lol you gotta be kidding

  • @omgPepper No, no i'm not. Its simple logic. Saying the only assholes are republicans is just stupid

  • A somewhat harsh, downer ending, to be sure, but also the most natural and logical conclusion for a show about a species we know went extinct, particularly a show that was always trying to impart a moral to its audience. I totally respect the writers for not compromising and for ending it the way they did. I kind of wished the Sinclairs might be frozen in a block of ice and then revived in the present, but that might have been a cop-out and softened the point they were making.

  • There's only one thing I didn't like about this episode.

After all the suffering and destruction he's caused, that Boss didn't get his cummuppence in the end.

Yeah, I know he probably died like the rest but we never got to see it.

  • I loved this show when I was a kid, this is the first time I've watched the last episode(unless I just dont remember) but this is such a sad way to end it. I love this show and it dealt with so many important issues today's shows are too afraid of dealing with incase they offend someone. It was so sad when Baby Sinclair was asking about this and not understanding what was happening and he asked "Are we going to move?" I was like "aww...."

  • I remember this show from when I was a kid, I still have a ton of the VHS tapes of it. I never saw this episode until now though.....wow.....

  • the fathers boss is an asshole

  • is that when they died

*look up and realizes that they do*

    .man kind take that warning,

-timelords too (if you get the reference)

  • @blaster915 Doctor WHO?

  • i seen the video 2 times and 2 times I cried

  • I wonder what would've happened if Earl had the guts to really stand up to his boss and refuse his request (or did it behind his back), would things have changed?

  • I understand that they were trying to give a message here, but this is just not how you end a series. It seems like they were more interested in preaching a message than continuing a good story. They certainly could have still done something with the environmental message without killing the entire cast. Regardless of what point you're trying to get across, something like this is a terribly rotten thing to do to people who have put their time/money/love into a series.

  • @LucidDivinity Of course, some of you will reply "It's a show about dinosaurs...the dinosaurs DID die."

Well, dinosaurs DID NOT wear clothes, or run companies, or speak English, or own televisions. It's a fictional show. Yes, they could have ended it another way.

  • I...can't...watch...too...depressing...

  • 8:16 LAMO

  • 2:46 ROFL

  • @seanpatrickcain2 Fucking Douche. 8:16....not counted.

  • I remember being a kid and waiting for the next season to come and everything would be fine again... but only after a long time did I realize they meant for this to be the end of the dinosaurs. God was that depressing.

  • So basically the father kills his family due to his ignorance.

    What an excellent finale.

  • Let's all pretend this episode never happened. The way I see it, this is just like one of those movies/TV shows with dumb, depressing, or rather unneeded sequels.

  • wow I remember seeing this and being upset. I didn't understand because I was really young. I remember the baby not understanding he was going to die. it f-d me up.

  • Granted, DINOSAURS ended due to low ratings and remaining episodes aired in the Summer of '94. However, DINOSAURS didn't have to end the way it did. It could've ended on a more human-element with the DINOSAURS using SCIENCE and YES, TECHNOLOGY to even figure out the black cloud problem and make the SUN shine once again. And EARL would finally come to his senses and quit WESAYSO. And the DINOSAURS would survive. But this is DISNEY were talking about, the biggest ANTI-HUMAN to ever live.

  • @LaurenLover81 i think you missed the bigger lesson and social commentary that was happening in this episode. and also, the dinosaurs DID die, what's the use in sugar coating it?

  • @LaurenLover81 But the dinosaurs DIDN'T survive. I'm glad they had the show end this way. If kids were watching they learned a valuable lesson from it: if the earth is destroyed due to the negligence of its inhabitants then what happened to the Sinclairs could conceivably happen to human beings. I know a lot of viewers want lame happy endings for every movie and tv series, but to make the dinosaur family live happily ever after would have just been copping out.

  • @cynthiacher WOW< so was this the last episode????

  • T.T

I swear when baby sinclair started talking....and he didn't understand they were going to die.....(sobs)

  • Your welcome guys! :)

  • This wouldn't happen to our world if Al Gore was our president instead of the dumb jerk Bush!!. Honestly, I'm not kidding.

  • And I know our current president is Obama, but my point is Al Gore's kind is the best kind of people.

  • @23456789Alexis I don't think you should put your faith in any politician or any political party. Bush is a dumbass, yes, but Gore is just as stupid. The same things that occurred under Bush would have happened with Gore, just like how Obama is making the same idiotic mistakes as Bush.

  • @23456789Alexis no one person can save the earth, the environment was being polluted a long time before bush, or clinton, or the first bush, or reagan came to power, its been going on for over a century.

  • aww this was so sad it made me tear up when baby started askin questions :( tears

  • I don't really like how they say the blame lies with 'progress and technology', whilst the culprit is quite clearly 'greed and capitalism'.

(Actually progress and technology might've build them a spaceship or a biodome or something.)

Actually I got the suspicion networks being what they are, they had to rewrite a few things (no one is allowed to insult the holy capitalism on TV), but I think Richfield playing around with his money whilst his world is about to die still shows it all.

  • It's so easy to take nature for granted because it's always there.

  • Thinking about the Baby dying at such a young age makes me a little teary-eyed.

  • @DUCKTAPE702 That was really sad & disturbing episode. From the beginning it had that feel.

  • I watched this as a child and could not stop crying, just purely knowing they were all gone. Now I'm upset knowing that my children's children could live in a mess of a world thanks to us :(

  • @GreySkies15 This is like our possible future except it was the cause of the dinasaur's extinction here. It's most terrible that we can't do something against the greedy repubs, oil , timber , tobacco company, & more and we can't let cannibis hemp replace oil & plastic. That we could never stop those greedy CEO & other selfish people ruining us for their profits for years.

  • wow, that was powerful. i never knew dinosaurs ended like this.

  • They sure killed every plant on earth RATHER QUICKLY, huh?

  • I saw this when I was 9. It put me in a depression. A show that I liked so much ended so bizarrely., I didn't understand how characters I liked could have such a sad ending.
