  • Wow at Polish dude.... :/

  • @BarbraKing hes belgian

  • crazy house

  • Simon is right. I like the guy and he has a good voice...But if he's a rock star he can't do that

  • Simon is right. Rock stars got famous before without Idol they can fucking do it again! ROCK N' ROLL FOREVER!

  • STOP INTERUPTING EACHOTHER! I CANT STAND IT.......!!!!!1111ONEONE!11

  • PFFF Polish judge mate is fuckin mad

  • Comment removed

  • @WittenbergP World Idol, read discription

  • @WittenbergP are you fucking kidding me?

  • If they don't want rock songs on their contest, why would they allow them in the first place. All that Simon guy did was saying "we never should have selected you in the first place".

  • hes right

    simon i mean

  • Meanwhile, he ended 3rd, the winner sang a U2 song and the 4rd place was an Aeromith song...

  • omg that simon is rly a big dickhead!! GO BELGIUM!!:p

  • and btw: no one KNOWS FOR SURE how Kurt Cobain would have reacted to something like this. I can easily imagine Cobain actually seeing this as a "take the money and run" approach (like bands such as The Sex Pistols did in the 70s) - get as much money out of that horrible industry as you can.

  • this guy, peter evrard, lives in the same village as me xD

  • Sure, these shows help you getting popularity, and what every musician wants is their music to reach the largest amount of people posible. But he is a well known rock musician in his country, participating in this programme (which is made for its competitors to be known so they can SELL) just shows how hipocrite he is to his music. And i thought Peter´s arguments were pretty weak.

  • simon is god

  • Simon is right from an idealist point of view, but he need to get his feet on the ground and see it from the performer.

  • I voted for him when he was still on the Belgian Idol, the sad thing is when he won the competition ,no one heard anything of him anymore and the girl who ended second is now sort of famous and has a few albums out over a period of a few years.

  • @BeyondDeathCore nathalia !

  • Simon reminds me of Mel Gibson in the movie "The Beaver" when he speaks with British accent

  • I don't think it's fair that they're arguing in his second language. They should have had a translator.

  • @PlethoraShae Actually, he seemed to manage pretty good in English. The English of many Belgian and Dutch people is pretty good because they learn English at a young age. I don't think it would've made a difference.

  • he's a prick. i know people like him. a lot actually. sorry to say this but in the UK, there are tonnes of Simon Cowells out there... full of ego and arrogance. Trying to be smart in a disrespectful way. He might be right at times but with some tact, we could have gain respect as well.

  • shut up

that polish guy was the only one to stand up and tell the truth

  • what a shame ,

    that polish idiot shouting !!!!!!!

  • Simon Cowell has a point, but he still is a whiny rich kid who used daddy's money to get where he stands now. He will always be an asshole who would get his head kicked in if he started a fight in London.

He has a point, but he still sounds like a puff.

  • @tcmsnca91 I thought he worked his way up from the mail room. In his dad's company, i know.

  • Co tam kurde robi Wojewodzki?!:D

  • This is the reason I don't watch these shows anymore.

    Insulting arrogant bastards.

I wonder how much money Simon puke face makes with this shows. And then tells someone else he's a cheater? Come on.

  • Wojewódzki. Kurwa. :D

  • he actually sounds nice. I guess this is where music culture comes into conflict. sad much.

  • simons right, plus who the fuck wants to hear a reject from a creed cover band sing nirvana

  • Simons a dick, mheheh

  • Whiny faggot with a gay little soul spoof

  • Simon is absolutely right! The audiences of shows like this aren't interested in this kind of music, p.s. Nirvana is the shit!! \m/

  • Yea, guess nobody can throw stones in glass houses. That being said....:) I thought his version of the song was worse than Nirvana's and Simon's prob right Kurt would have thought this bloke should perform in a cheezy casino or cruise line cover band

  • So what does Simon think of his own shows? Does he think they have no integrity?

  • simon knows whats up.

  • Simon is right. That guy is a poser.

  • I completly agree. I love metal/rock and i'd never go through something like this or American Idol to start my career

  • My god, Simon, believe me, he isn't a hero in his own country by far.

  • FUCK POP MUSIC! MAY ROCK LIVE ON FOR EVER!!!

  • Runner up Natalia made it big time, from Peter we didn't hear anymore so Simon did have a point.

  • @fancyfree70 You didnt hear from him anymore because he's actually loyal to his music. Being a non-conformist, he didn't do anymore songs which were written/produced for him (and that's for the best, 'cause they sucked :p). Peter totally has a point, which is made painfully obvious now that he chose to do his own thing (and we never hear from him again - unlike Nathalia who is still in business).

  • Rock/Punk/Metal/... works self-destructive with its 'sell-out' dislike, and that's why it will never become mainstream music. I leave it up to the listener if that's for the best ;-).

  • I agree with Simon. As a metal head myself, I would NOT be impressed with a metal/rock band selling out by going on a show like this. U see the other guys point too, but unless the band/artist was AMAZING, I'd call them sell outs and not be interested.

  • @evilkat4425 What kinda bs is that? Just because you don't like a certain band's music, therefore they are sellouts in your opinion? No one said anything about selling out.

  • Hahahaha lol Peter won the Idols here in Belgium.Simon is an honest man and says what he thinks straight away but it's just harsh and dissrespectful towards the rock audiance.

  • You are all brought up with x factor and idol so you agree with this singer, but simon is absoloutly right, rock, punk and metal fans would never buy an album off of someone who went on this show. You can say this guy has talent and he deserves a chance but simon is thinking pragmaticly, the guy would never sell albums.

  • @misfitstattoo Shut up, me and everyone else buys an album if it is good. It does not matter how the album was made popular.

  • @Taylormade169 That's because you are a victim of these show's, it's pretty pathetic people like you.

  • @misfitstattoo Infact I have never seen this show in my life, I'm a Musician who has been in a lot of bands and I am only the age of 16. I play shed loads of instruments and don't watch TV. I am not a victim of any kind of this show and I base music on how good they are. You're a stupid idiot so go away, you can not talk about pathetic. Fool...

  • @misfitstattoo why wouldnt a rock, punk fans not buy an album off someone who comes to this show?

  • @misfitstattoo Your absolutely right. Go Simon.

  • @misfitstattoo Agree

  • @misfitstattoo That's crap. If you buy albums based on where people come from or what they do, you have no idea what music is about.

Talent and how it sounds is 100% of it. Anything else is just being hipster - "I liked him before he was mainstream/sold out."

  • @8lilikari6 Yup, and the horrible media machine and their horrible media tools like Simon will capitalise on that merchandising and brand recognition.

  • @misfitstattoo : well, at the point this show took place he had already released one number album. so there were obviously people who didn't care about "credibility".

  • @xxxaragon That's more like a cultural issue, it wouldn't happen in the uk or america. The rock, punk, grundge and metal world is an elitist one and 'cool' is upheld fervently. The fact is world idol and shit shows like this are not fucking cool in any way shape or form.

  • thats harsh you should never criticize someone who can sing but has a different outlook of what music is simon just does not know all the types of music properly because I thought honestly that was pretty good

  • dumbest arguement

usually simon is right and has a good ear for talent

    but this is just stupid

  • Arrrrgh! Simon was saying if you have a 'true' talent then you need to work hard to get your goal. Bands like Nirvana, The Stones, Queen (my taste but pick your own) make their way because they've spent years perfecting their talents, not because somebody like Cowel has hand picked you, spent money promoting you and training you. Go and look at interviews for bands like Queen, they spent years sorting themselves to get to the band they came out to be, not the 30 second 'stars' X factor produces!

  • @stujb With every world famous band there had to be a moment when someone picked them and spent money promoting them. Talent can only get you so far, word-of-mouth fame can make you a star in a relatively small circle only. To reach a larger audience you have to be sold. I understand where you come from, I understand Simon's point, but I also think that for rock fans to refuse an artist based solely on the way they reached their audience, and not on their music, is a kind of hypocrisy.

  • @5464724 how is that hipocrisy?

  • go norway flag in the background!!!!!!

  • Simon Cowell is neither funny nor cool when he's being "honest" or gives his opinion, he is just being a horrible mean person, trying to be funny at some other persons expence. Even when you think there is nothing bad to be said, he finds it, for example when he pretty much called Kurt Nielsen in World Idol ugly, what's the hell is the point!? I hate those people who claims "I'm just being honest" and then uses it as a pretext to act like a fucking asshole!

  • I see where Simon is coming from but I think the performer had a stronger argument!

  • @sweetsexyserb see my vids & learn herbs like turmeric,dandelion,dock,cayenne ETC :D

  • Thing is, anyone with real talent would avoid idol shows because of their nature. 'Idol' shows aren't about giving a voice to great undiscovered artists, they're about generating income. Unless Simon is willing to say to a contestant ''Yes! you will make X-amount of money for me, the show, and you're auditions is great for our ratings!! congratz to you!!!'', he is being an utter hypocrite in saying that this guy is being a conformist.

  • He dont know anything about music

  • Why is there a Norwegian flag behind Simon??

  • he got simon on his last point that the industry is built that way but thats the way the world s money orientated for the quick buck and record labels are only interested in your ability to sell. but simon wont admit that part.

  • Fuck off Simon, how is he conforming when he is doing whatever he wants to?

And who are you to talk about Rock and Roll when all you do is manufacture shitty one hit pop music wonders that no one will remember in 5 years time, unlike Kurt Cobain.

  • @CrackinCrew He conformed to what was popular, He wouldn't have to go on this show even though it was popular. He went onthis show not to perform to people he could've done that at a park or HIS concert, But he conformed to a "commercialized and pop show". He chose to go on the show that stood for everything grunge was against.

  • @MunisAwesome I don't think that is conformity. People wouldn't expect rock musicians at a competition like that, but he turned up. That is like crashing a wedding, not conformity at all. Just because he chosed to go on a show where it is infested with pop singers does not mean he conformed to the ideal image of a 21st century singer. He did what he wanted on stage, argued for his own rights and that is rock and roll.

  • @CrackinCrew You do realized he ONLY went on the show because it was popular and he wanted to sell. Thus he conformed to what was popular in ORDER to sell. I'm not saying conforming is a bad thing, Whether we like it or not most of the greatest musicians had conformed. Kurt Cobain even though against conforming conformed when he made hsi Nevermind by giving it a slightly more commercial sound. He obviously regretted it thus he made In Utero. He onyl argued becauee Simon questioned his purpose.

  • @MunisAwesome You must be kidding, he was obliged to perform on that stage because he won The Idol version of his country. All im saying is that Simon is being an arse, trying to make a fool out of him just because he is different from the rest. He is narrow-minded in the sense that he only appreciates pop singers, whilst just simply ridiculing the others. But don't worry, its only a matter of time before MTV collapses because the music stereotype is being absolutely pathetic today.

  • @CrackinCrew Oh so he had conformed before World Idol? And he was obliged or HAD to perform because he won idol version of his country? So he did in fact conform, He could've said no to World idol but because he HAD to and was obliged to he did. And Simon Cowell doesn't only appreciate pop singers, He clearly has an appreciation for Kurt Cobain and has done his homework. And there will always be music stereotypes whether we like it or not.

  • @MunisAwesome Bullshit. He won his country's version of the Idol, its his right to go on World Idol to perform so the pathetic excuse that Simon said he shouldnt be there because he conformed is absolutely bollocks. He has no knowledge or appreciation of rock music whatsoever, thus with what little he has, he still tries to make it seem as though he knows it all. A total lack of respect from Simon toward that individual.

    Filth.

  • @CrackinCrew Oh so he did infact conform to a previous idol? It is his right to conform you are correct. Simons just givng his opinion that is what a "Judge" does, If the contestant can't TAKE an opinino then why the fuck did he join his country's idol in the first place?

  • @MunisAwesome Just because he argued for what he believes in does not mean he can't take an opinion. A singing judges people on their vocals, Simon did not once do that. Instead, he attacks solely the very fact that he is at the competition. Ridiculous.

  • @CrackinCrew But that's like singing a meaningful song with a strong background then completely destroying the whole point of the original artist's goal by singing it so meaningless on a contest. He doesn't have to prove anything to the judges, He could've tried being famous like Kurt did by being real and not having to prove he was a good artist nfront of judges. Simon didn't say he was bad at singing, I'm sure if the contestant ddn't attack him he would've said ti was good. be continued.

  • @CrackinCrew Simon was arguing the point that this would be everything grunge and kurt would be against.Which is true, Whether the contestant's intention was to sell on a popular show that has nothing to do with the whole point of grunge or not.

  • @MunisAwesome He wasn't arguing about anything. He was attacking a different individual.

  • @CrackinCrew He was attacking the contestant for singing a grunge song on a pop idol where grunge is against conforming and commercializing youself, Again whether the contestant's intention was to sell on a popular show (In which is against the point of grunge) or not, Simon still pointed out the irony in what the contestant was doing and it WOULD indeed be Kurt's worst nightmare.

  • @MunisAwesome Firstly, the very fact that he is attacking an individual over a singing competition shows his ugly character.

Secondly, the competition is supposed to be open to all genres, not only pop. Just because the current music industry is so infested with shitty pop music does not naturally make any current singing competitors pop singers.

Thridly, Nirvana embraced MTV fully in their time just like how this guy embraced and won his country's idol. Why do you think they did that? Think.

  • @CrackinCrew First, Simon gave an opinion that wasn't to the contestant's or your liking. That's what judges do, Give opinions. He also attacked the person's motives which is FAIR game especially since the man played a grunge song on a commercialized show. Which WOULD be indeed a wtf moment. If you can't take it, Go have a cry about it.

Secondly, The show is supposed to be open to all genres. But that wasn't the point you retard. That's just like claiming to be punk then going on a talent show

  • @CrackinCrew Thirdly, Nirvana didn't really embrace MTV during their time. They often had many arguments to what they were allowed to play. And I'm pretty sure if Kurt Cobain was still alive now, He'd be ashamed of what MTV has become. He never won any idol, He won a generation through being honest and real. Showing he didn't need any pop show to become famous.

  • @MunisAwesome Firstly ,what's wrong with playing a specific genre at a singing competition? It does not specifically state that you must only sing pop hits. Singing any type of rock music is not unusual at a singing competition.

Secondly, your point there doesnt even make sense. I know you can't come up with a valid point to counter my argument but at least refrain from offensive language.

  • @CrackinCrew There is nothing wrong with it, You haven't been reading my comments properly. Although it would be okay to plaay grunge and punk rock if they were just pointless genres. The reality is what grunge and punks meaning as two genres are something that just don't go with commercialized shows that conform to pop. I mean you haven't come up with anything except HE CAN PLAY WHAT HE WANTS MAN. He can I never denied that. And I'm sorry if the insult hurt your feelings i will refrain.

  • @MunisAwesome Thirdly, Nirvana did use MTV to perform. No pop competition was needed to showcase their talents as in the 90s, Rock was still fairly prevalent and mainstream.

  • @CrackinCrew I mean it's a bit weird having a punk rocker straying away from conformity and commercialization and yet appear on a show that supports commercilized sounds and conforming. And MTV isn't what it use to be. Stop using it as an example, As now a days what point you're trying to bring up with MTV is nno longer relavent. And Rock is still mainstream, It just doesn't dominate it. Do you have any actual valid points now?

  • @MunisAwesome Well firstly, your insults do not hurt my feelings, especially over the Internet. But your usage of it in a civilised argument shows your insecurity and that you do not know what else to say, thus resorting to it.

Secondly, its true that MTV is pop-orientated now, thats what I said! I think that it is you who should start reading my past points properly and not just be like a broken tape-recorder and then end it off with ''Do you have any actual valid points now?''.

  • @CrackinCrew Whether you like it or not, Idol is a COMMERCIAL show. Whether you like it or not, Idol is a pop show. Whether you like it or not, Playing a grunge or punk rock song on a show that supports everything punk rock and grunge song is against is usually a sign of conforming.

  • @MunisAwesome Nope, thats absolute bullshit.

  • @CrackinCrew Great response, You just radiate education and intelligence.

  • @MunisAwesome I know.

  • @MunisAwesome Finally, like I said, rock and roll epitomises freedom, among various other things. If it is his will to sing a rock song in a commercialized competition, you may call it conformity but I think he just representing what the genre is all about - doing whatever the hell you want, wherever and whenever.

  • @CrackinCrew

And calling someone retarded usually doesn't show any kind of insecurity? It usually shows a sign of having no respect for the other. And I do know what i'm saying, I just ended it with an insult like Christopher Hitchens does indirectly.

The genre is all about not selling out, Being yourself, and straying away from commercilization and conforming. Which is everything the pop show DOESN'T represent.

And you still haven't got any valid points.

  • i agree with simon tbh, talent shows arn't rock and roll. but they have screwed up the music industry, them and 14 yr old girls with too much money.

  • why do u all hate simon? hes the nly one who gives good stuff

  • Stupid crowd ALWAYS sides with the singer...

    Can't have everyone win

  • Nigel Lythgoe at 1:58 from so you think you can dance? what is he doing there??

  • Classic Simon Cowell moment.

  • Wat does Simon know about heavy metal/alternative music anyway lol? He might know what sells and love his cheesy pop stars but doesn't 'pop' mean 'popular', and this kind of music is popular with a lot of people. All this bullshit with 'conforming' lol, the guy was probz just using the show to get recognition which is what it's there for. I think he'd have been better off just keeping quiet with this one, as basically he was saying he just doesnt like that style of music in his adult bratty way

  • Thousands of singers better than this poser.

  • Gaan Evrard! GAAAN!!!

  • simon, stop while your ahead, before someone decides to kill you

  • simon cowboy is a complete moron. a fact. suck a horse dick simon.

  • Haha Peter Waterman is really cool.

  • Ugh! That fat white guy from the UK seems like a arrogant chauvinistic pig!

  • @HunnyLamb26 Hey! He's not fat xP

  • world idol ??? WTF ?

  • ok 2003 not 2009 my bad, same thing. Look this guy made a difference

  • All I pick up here is Cowell prefers pop music

  • How did we get Kurt Cobain? because he was DECADES ago, we didn't have these shows back then. rich people thinking they can say whatever they want. He's comparing 2009 to over 20 yrs ago . dick.

  • Well, let's all keep in mind Simon is where he is today because of what his father did for a living.

  • 2:00 to the right of Simon you can see Nigel from So You Think You Can Dance!

  • hahaha Kuba Wojewódzki mnie rozwalil!!!

  • 2:23 to 2:27 LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love simon cowel, no show is boring whit his coments and shit talk xD

  • So Simon told him not to conform, and to act as a certain stereotype? That's a bit contradicting isn't it?

  • the first time he spoke some sense

  • Fuck everyone, Simon is the man. Says what is true, tells people what they need to hear. period.

  • Simon, by coming on this show the guy is non conforming because, rock artists wouldn't do that according to your views.

So by being a non-conformist he is actually true to the non-conforming image of a rockstar, while you on the other hand want him to conform to the non-conforming image which is a contradiction in terms. Conforming to a non-conforming image is still conforming you idiot.

  • @Stofke72 Oh good! Now i don't have to struggle with putting words to that. So convoluted >.<

  • Comment removed

  • @Stofke72 Did i disagree? :P Wow, that really is an impressive collection of insults! I've learned so much from you...

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @Namaechan Sorry but it did sound a bit arrogant to me, I did read it as if you actually meant to say the opposite of what your wrote.

  • @Stofke72 Yeah, my sarcasm reflex tends to flex whenever i write a youtube comment. I don't know why xP

  • Can you guys please tell me whats going on??..I dont understand this subtitles..

  • @tulioconde1 It's dutch :)

  • Funny to see USA and UK sucking eachothers cock... again...

  • I like how Kuba is with the performer and nobody else wasn't even saying anything. Fucking cowards!

  • just rock snobbery. it's the same argument again and again. you're selling out when you do something that you don't believe in. period.

  • By refusing to be on the show because "that's what Kurt Cobain would've wanted" and because it's "rock & roll" to "not conform", would be ironically conforming itself, just to a different convention! The definition of conforming changes as society changes, and I'd argue that what was once an honest rebellion against commerciality has now become a culture of arrogance and elitism in the rock and metal community. Good on him, I'm a serious songwriter and artist and I would've done the same!

  • Lmao, some idol judges seriously have something up their arse.

  • ok what about Lordi? North-Europe band (idk what country) but they played heavy metal, and fucking WON Eurovision Song contest few years back... so don't say its not possible for an 'underground genre' to have its way with an audiance. the shit is that the contestants here couldn't bring their own numbers? for if that was the case Peter could've shown what he's capable of and shut Simon the fuck up.

  • FUCK SIMON COWELL!!

  • sheep apparently agree with Simon... hahaha

  • Oh come on, he got a very good point if you actually listen to him. Music industry made it that way, there is little place for rock nowadays. During Kurt's year, it was different. Now it's all pop. You don't hear much rock now in top 10 music radio show. Seriously, at times like this, it's a good opportunity to expose your music when it's dying (there is nowhere else to do it).

Look, I bet you many younger people on the audience heard rock for the first time that day. Just for that, he wins.

  • I love metal and rock! But i have to agree with Simon, idol is only for pop. Cuz rock wouldnt be the same if it had been on idol... Its just to...Wrong

  • I'm just so surprised that the singers artist is so good.

  • why the FUCK do you think Simon is right.

The singer is COMPLEATLY right, there are NO SHOWS for rock or metal like idol. You think that is balanced?

Oh, to bad simon cant find another pop musicians, we all know that the world is lacking pop musicians.

  • @gulbirk end of the day simon has made all his money by being right thats why your not famous deal with it

  • @gulbirk

you shouldnt have wrote COMPLEATLY in capital letters... its completely lol

  • @gulbirk The Beatles were pop, Rock songs are played on American idol. I don't approve of these shows but it depends on how you look at pop whether it'd be as submitting to the commercial sound or just meaning it's popular. The Beatles were pop, In terms of him speaking for "rock" he is wrong, Many good rock bands sold out. In terms of this being Kurt Cobain's worst nightmare he is right, Kurt Cobain did dislike selling out, Which was the reason he made In Utero to bring back the punk sound.

  • simon is right!

  • The judges can be a little rude to be honest...i mean if you don't like someone's voice, the song they sing or their style, don't make a big fuss out of it...just share your opinion in small sentences and get over it.

  • 2:25 lmao kkkkk

  • lol

  • Simon is so right!

  • Simon wouldn't say that stuff it the other guy didn't talk back

  • peter is right...thier are some american idols finalist as rocker that won as runner up i just dont remember what year...but peter is absolutely right.

  • Simon is a huge dick!

  • Simon is an asshole. Will remember him for this.

  • FFFUUUUCCCKKKK SSSIIIIMMMOONNN

  • he can be true to his roots and go on the show its not selling out its playing the hand thats dealt.

  • goat boy

  • He didn't say 'who are you to judge me' he said: 'Who are you to judge me for being unreal'. Because he thinks simon is a big fake

  • It's a talent show for singers, they never said rock wasn't allowed. That means Peter can sing whatever he wants, certainly if he does a good job like this.

  • Hahah wait a minute i know this guy.. He is a belgium Idol 2003 winner

  • Simon Cowell on top top form

  • damn he was actually really good

  • Simon Cowell, best troll ever.

  • @thebast4 you mean the worst troll ever.

  • lol its funny that everybody can get to say what Kurt Cobain would like or hate or be proud of.i am a big fan but i never say shit like that.you cant know what would be the reaction of Kurt Cobain.respect him and then just stfu dont make stupid assumptions.

  • Who are you to judge me?

Uhm, maybe the original POP idol judge?

  • I agree with Simon.. Are you a true rocker you dont enter a competition like this.. Rock dont belong to this idol shit and thank god for that..

  • Why a rock artist can't take a shot on this show? That's nonsense. So Simon, if you don't want rock singers in your show, you should make a sign on the entrance: NO ROCKERS ALLOWED.

  • This is not just a Pop contest. You can sing every kind of music and style there. The job of the singer is to sing and show his talent. The job of the judge is to see if the singer has a good voice, a good singing ability etc. It is not a valid point to imagine what Kurt Cobain would do if he see Peter. He is dead. How you could say Kurt would not like Peter for confronting this dirty music industry? This is not fair. I personally think Kurt would be proud of you Peter (:. You have talent.
