Jordan would have to be the first NBA super athlete with supreme fundamentals. The new players need to show me something exceptional after having been privileged to witness the GOAT.
yeah that is pretty impressive, but with the way they play defense these days and the refs calling every little tickie-tack foul its not that hard.. If MJ played in this era he would easily average 40ppg..
You don't make sense. Check the box scores for Jordan's 3 50 point games in a row. He shot at least 18-20 free throws in all the games so it's not like Kobe gets a special treatment from the refs. If you know your basketball you've seen how Shane Battier guards Kobe. He had his hand between Kobes eyes right in front of his face everytime Kobe went up for a shot. Even then Kobe has dropped 53 points 10 rebounds 8 assists on him and his Rockets.
I will be the first one to say mj is better than kobe but come on kobe is the closest to mj. Kobe is actually a bit more skilled in my opinion. Mj superior defender and probably faster and jumped higher.
No disrespect, I was with you on everything but Kobe being more skilled. He isn't as fluid as MJ and his shooting percentage is just decent for the caliber of player he is. As great as he is he still makes some bonehead decisions in crucial games that MJ wouldn't. But hey, he got a ring this year...
It's amazing how routine MJ made those double clutch hanging jumpers look. It was just another shot for him. For any other (star) player that's a HIGHLIGHT play they might pull off once every 10 games or so.
And that's w/o any 3-pointers, taking it to the defense instead. This is only MJ's 3rd season where he made up for his injury in the previous year. Not only did he average 37 ppg, but he also became the first player to ever record 200 steals and 100 blocks in a season.
Can you believe that he didn't even make the all-defensive 2nd team that year? He should've had two consecutive DPOY awards if it weren't for this travesty.
Look at that mid-range game..buckets

back then there werent that many great centers so dominated over them all, if he played in 90s he would have been like Mutombo
