I lived there for 13 years. Used to live in Nottingham before that. Manchester has many friendly people and lots of clubs etc. Not been attacked once. you see if you have the right attitude anywhere you go you tend not too get hurt :)

I was thinking of a fairly large city with lots of transport (no farms or empty cities). Anyone willing to tell me about some cities and what its like there?
I'm at uni in West London, the tubes and busses seem to run OK, there's plenty of nightlife in central london and there's plenty of shopping centres (malls?)and supermarkets around.
All cities have nice parts and rough parts but I haven't been here long enough to really tell you where they are in London.
I'm afraid my messenger is playing silly buggers with me at the moment, so I can't say much. Tuition fees will be about £12,000/yr for a foreign student, and on-campus accomodation will be about £4,000 on top of that. I am taking Mechanical Engineering.
I was thinking of moving to england. I'm not english (but I'm white), I've heard alot of good things about it and I was wondering what its like to live there? (I'm from canada)

Oh, and house prices are through the roof at the moment, and look to remain so for some time.
Also, If you live in the english countryside, your never more than a couple of miles from the nearest village anyway.
