omg she's amazing so sad she died..but do urself a favor and dont look on wikipedia, just the fact that it can be edited by anyone makes it really unreliable

No, unfortunately she died 9 years ago, in 2000. She was, indeed, the greatest mezzo the Romania had and one of the greatest voices of the world. I have to contradict you. Miss Cernei was very well known to the Western public in her day. She sang a lot with great singers, such as Domingo, Di Stefano, Tebaldi.
