  • You need a Finn to win ;)

99 & 17 what an couple. I think that was best there is.

  • Kurri was a very good two way player. People forget Kurri could have scored nearly 80 goals in 1984-85, he had 50 goals in 50 games and finshed with 71 goals in 73 games. He had a extremley quick release and is one of the best players in NHL history.

  • Kurri and Gretzky were the kings of Edmonton just like Kariya and Selanne were the kings of Anaheim.

Shame both of these great teams now suck so bad today.

  • Kurri & Gretzky are legends ... not only Gretzky they have both 5 stanley cup rings.

  • Kurri 17 & Gretzky 99

  • No, Gretz has only 4: '84, '85, '87 & '88!!!

  • @n73phone Kurri has 5 and Gretzky 4

  • @n73phone wrong. Wayne has only 4 if i remember correct...

  • @n73phone Gretzky has 4 Cup rings. Obviously he's way better than Kurri but he only has 4.

  • @n73phone ummmm 21 thumbs up even though Wayne only has 4 cup rings hahahhaha

  • @n73phone Wayne has 4 rings.

  • How can Ovi be the best of all time? He hasn't even played 5 seasons yet! He may not even win the scoring race - Malkin and Crosby are right with him, and so are a few others. Two years ago people were saying Crosby was the best in the league, now suddenly it's Ovechkin. If Malkin or LeClair or someone lights it up next year, then suddenly that guy is gonna be "better than Gretzky" too. When one of those guys wins 10 MVP trophies, let me know. Maybe then I'll be willing to consider them equal.

  • LeClair?! This isn't the 90s, what are you mumbling about!!!

  • @KoivuTheHab

Ha ha no doubt. LeClair ? Hey maybe Lindros. Or maybe Mike Bossy will lead the league in goals next year. Nah Im goin with Pavel Bure.

  • Dynamic duo!

  • good grezky and kurri!

  • That is a strange statement... Consider that jari averaged between 50-60 assists a season, and gretzky averaged usually did between 110-160 assists in his period with the oilers. Who do you think was setting up whom for goals?

  • Jari was winger, Wayne was center. What the hell are you talking about?

  • Are you on drugs? Where do all these Gretzky haters come from? Blair MacDonald got 46 goals playing with Gretzky. I know what your thinking who? Bernie Nicholls got 70 playing with Gretzky. May I add Gretzky had 114 assists that year and there was no Kurri to speak of. That very same year Kurri had 58 assists. Kurri was a great player, but Gretzky is a living legend.

  • @Din0might7 I wonder that also...

Gretzky was a legend by himself, but him and kurri made an awesome duo.. Maybe the best ever..

  • @Din0might7

Dave freakin Lumley went on a 12 game scoring streak poppin 15 goals in that span playing with Gretzky. Think it was like '82. Tells you how much better Gretzky made Kurri though. Kurri was no better than other scoring wingers of that era like Ciccarelli, Goulet, Gartner, etc. In fact I would take any of those 3 ahead of him.

  • @tjcurrie that maybe.....but you can't garantee that those players would have clicked with gretz like kurri did with him....hmm i think your right that Lumley fact kind of shows gretz was the man.

  • @DoYouThinkForUrselF You can never garantee anything really. But those players, and others, were every bit as good atleast as Kurri. I would have to think that just with Gretzkys abilities alone, those players would be able to flourish even more than what they did, let alone their own abilities. Ciccarelli had more goals than Kurri in less games playing without Gretzky. IMagine him with Gretzky ? And Gartner is a member of the 700 goal club. That could be 800 with Gretzky.

  • @tjcurrie for sure =P

  • @Din0might7 Obviously. And for those reasons, nobody can deny that Kurri's numbers are better because he was fortunate enough to play with Gretzky all those years. How can anyone argue that ?

  • @tjcurrie That's strange. It says here you replied to my message 7 months ago, and now you did it again 2 days ago. I'm not complaining or anything, but 7 months ago you had a much more interesting post. I remember the season when Lumley had an up year. And anybody that thinks Kurri is better then Gretzky is either high or retarded when it comes to hockey.

  • @Din0might7 Hm. Guess I must have replied back then aswell. Im not a Gretzky fan myself but as a hockey fan and someone who considers himself pretty knowledgeable, youre correct in your assessment. Even if anyone thinks Kurri is close to Gretzky, they're not all there.

  • @tjcurrie He was sort of Scottie Pippen to Michael Jordan,eh?

  • @ilovejourney1 You could say that in a way. With Pippen not being as good as Jordan, and obviously Kurri not as good as Gretzky. Its just Kurri gets recognized for these huge numbers when theyre pretty obscured thanks to him playing with Gretzky.

  • @tjcurrie

You should go to Stamkos' youtube pages and tell everyone he's nothing without St. Louis.

  • @marsneedstowels I could see all the kiddies rage now ha ha. Stamkos is a heckuva player with or without St.Louis, but I'm not sure he puts up the numbers he does without him. St.louis is the straw that stirs the drink there.

  • @tjcurrie You remember how no one played as well as expected when they were on the Gretzky line until Kurri came? You remember how Kurri is recognized many to be the best two-way player of the 80's? You remeber how Edmonton wouldn't have done as well as they did if it weren't for Kurris goal scoring and relentless backcheckin? Kurri was a factor, though of course not as good as Greztky, but a lot of Gretzky's points had something to do with Kurri.

  • @Kaksisekuntiaaikaa So Kurri was better than Blair Mcdonald is what you're saying ? I'm not denying that. Kurri played better with Wayne than Blair Mcdonald yes it's true.Had Kurri played with your average #1 in the league and not Gretzky, would he have been able to back check as much AND put up the big numbers ? Doubt it.Basically Kurri could free range playing with Wayne and rack up points no matter what. He and Wayne had chemistry yes but without Wayne, Kurri gets 80 to 100 pts per in the 80s

  • You are a comedian!

    And completely wrong.

  • @Cruelking99 ur a fucking idiot. gretzky was a center and jurri was a winger, and gretzky made the passes and jurri scored. did u watch the fucking video?

  • 1980s Hockey was so much better than today, both goals-wise and hitting-wise.

  • Uhmm... Nice vid, but his first name is Jari, not Jarri.
