Hi there, thanks for the video. I've tried Aptana with my html files, and it works really well with all my jquery and the little bit of javascript I've got. The one thing that is not working is that Aptana does not recognise my server side includes, whereas dreamweaver does. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
@Barplot Hi there, I noticed when you preview your web files, you're doing it directly. e.g ; file///media etc etc etc
I'm trying to set it up so it previews files like this but I have no idea about how to do it. Can you let me know please. I'm also trying to go 100% linux :-)
@WestysGate hey would love to help out although I am not exactly sure what you are looking to do here. Are you asking how I set up the Project Explore and Remote windows?
@Barplot No problem buddy. Thanks for your help. I'm just making the change to linux and this is one application I could do with instead of dreamweaver. Can follow me on twitter: SLWestgate
The nice thing is you can add any eclipse plugin to aptana since it is based on eclipse. Subclipse plugin works like a charm for version control. Highly recommended.
I actually have used blue fish and I did like it but it was missing something that I can not remember now, but I do recall overall enjoying the program.
@Hannibal69Lecter I tried Bluefish a while back and as much as I liked it.. I missed the preview window.. ganted I could just hit save and then flip to the browser and click refresh.. but im lazy.. hahaha Does the new version of BlueFish have a preview window, ie the split screen mode, like Dreamweaver does? Its just I run dual boot Ubuntu and Windows XP.. the only reason I have windows on my machine is for Adobe software.

@Barplot Yeah I suppose if you can tell me how you set up your projects and remote windows mine should appear the same.
Probably best to show me a glimpse of your settings

Aptana is based on Eclipse
So learning Eclipse will help you a lot using Aptana
