According to the Denver Post, while the Rockies "have made it known to opposing executives that Matt Holliday is available," they would prefer to "trade infielder Garrett Atkins to land a starting pitcher."

The newspaper lists the Angels, Twins and Red Sox as "potential fits" for Atkins, who has two seasons of arbitration eligibility left before free agency. Atkins' raw numbers are great, but he's a mediocre defensive third baseman who's hit just .260/.328/.424 away from hitter-friendly
