The need more animals, more environmental dangers/consequences, weather events such as proper storms etc, to really fix that issue, and make Far Cry 3 what Far Cry 2 could have been.
Fix the guard posts, don't make them repsawn instantly as you go away from them. When you kill the guards, drive off, and turn around, they are there, it's rediculous and annoying.
I know what they are trying to do, keep action in the game, and keep it...
I absolutely love this game because you can choose what you do, as I'm driving around I hear the african music behind me and hunt for a guard post or something else, so amazing.
Despite being perfect in alot of ways, I love Far Cry 2 because it has this energy. It just has this spirit when you play that no other game has captured. I love it when I'm stalking through the savanna, stalking some guard while the hot African sunset bathes everything in golden light and you catch snatches of African vocalizing on the winds. This game has a sort of spirituality to it. It's amazing. If FC3 has this same atmosphere with more epic gameplay, I will be blown away.
I think everything he said in this video is true, it is a beautiful game, and you really feel like your are in the world, but what this game fails on is the story. Or the story itself is alright but the progression of the story is very dull. The characters arent very memorable, and they speak like theyre in a hurry, and there are no cutscenes. I understand that its sort of a "thing" that you are always in character, but cutscenes would really help the progression of the storyline
@kmann1994, I dont think getting shot, dislocating your arm, getting it by a sharp piece of shrapnel then having to rip the bullets and shrapnel out of you and having to relocate your arm would be fun. but it would hurt

Please guys, i want help on this, im playing Far Cry 2 on PS3, i have only played 4% and i cant find more missions, eventhough i have only finishd 6/32 missions, and only finished 13 side missions.
@sabtiy80 Check map. You can either look in the centre town for missions inside two of the buildings, or look out for side missions which are located in weapon stores, and also radio antenna's. Consult your map legend for where the missions are exactly located.
Appreciate your answer, bu i have tried the above, visited all the radio antennas and regarding the side missions, a person used to be inside the weapon stores, now theirs none, i really dont get it.
@sabtiy80 Sometimes I think it tries to push towards a certain mission or objective. If you're not able to find any missions that way maybe try looking at some walkthroughs for the game. They're very easy to find on here if you haven't already tried it.

@CokeColaForTheWin That didn't work too well in Halo 1 or 2, can't remember which one, but hopefully they will make it better and existent in any future games. The problem is that game models never look right when they turn around, no matter what the game is, because it's hard to make your feet move realistically with your turning, and still make your turning consistent.

Regardless of any problems Far Cry 2 has, I prefer the open-gameplay infinitely to linear games because it has endless replay value and you see new things all the time. In games like Call of Duty, you play the exact same missions, kill the exact same bad guys, and watch them die in the exact same position. Thumbs up if you agree!
@RaptorTechSource I completely agree, the reason people predominately don't like this game is because after playing linear games where everything is handed to them, they cannot enjoy a world where they can make their own choices, they just turn away. It's too bad, really.
@SummerPig3 thats not true! I liked Far Cry2, but it wasnt that good. Its not like people not liking the open world, the problem are the mistakes in fc2, for example the fact that every single mission is exactly the same. Go there, kill this guy. Anyone know if there w2ill be a Far Cry 3. I loved Fary Cry 2! Far Cry looks like it is based on future or aliens which isen't my cup of tea. I hope they keep up the good work like in Far Cry 2.
Although I havent found an official announcement ANYWHERE, everybody says there has been an announcement from Ubisoft, virtually right after their release on Far Cry 2 (or directly before the release), saying there will be a sequel (Far Cry 3), and they intend to stay with the African setting.
They're probably working on it right now! Lets hope they're fixing some of their silliest mistakes, and making this next game even better than the original.

@KRandMJ You forgot add ups: 1)Realistic bullet speed,2)Realistic weapon damaging from the environment,3)Much more fauna elements that can harm you and finding special treatment for that, 4) Body conditions that improve in time strenght (to cary more weight),stamina(run faster...longer),hand to hand combat skills for stealthy kills,etc,5) use food, find food, hunt for food( and the food to affect your skills)...and the list can continue
@KRandMJ Agreed - but 7. must be new "old" weapons. I don't want to see the modern guns seen in BC or MW. As the Jackal said the AK-47 is the great equalizer. Not the M4 and such but the old '60 - '80 ones - which still been used in the 3'rd world. Also I want a bit more equalness between the guns so you don't have to stick to one or 2 guns besides all the posibillities to do the job.

The only thing Dar Cry 2 missed was mutant animals. The story is good, but the original Far Cry and its monsters made it one of the best games ever.

srysly this games A.I sucks and i cant go anywhere without being attacked by one of the A.I's and if you get attacked well you might as well call yourself DEAD its so easy to die.

Regardless of any problems Far Cry 2 has, I prefer the open-gameplay infinitely to linear games because it has endless replay value and you see new things all the time. In games like Call of Duty, you play the exact same missions, kill the exact same bad guys, and watch them die in the exact same position. Thumbs up if you agree!

@RaptorTechSource I completely agree, the reason people predominately don't like this game is because after playing linear games where everything is handed to them, they cannot enjoy a world where they can make their own choices, they just turn away. It's too bad, really.

@SummerPig3 thats not true! I liked Far Cry2, but it wasnt that good. Its not like people not liking the open world, the problem are the mistakes in fc2, for example the fact that every single mission is exactly the same. Go there, kill this guy. (or go there and fetch this thing.) That was the main problem for me: you had to drive the same roads and do the same things again and again.

it sucks how you dont have help on some missions for the factions. apparently the reason for that is that the missions are secret but the real reason is that programming friendly ai is hard and ubisoft couldnt be bothered

Anyone know if there w2ill be a Far Cry 3. I loved Fary Cry 2! Far Cry looks like it is based on future or aliens which isen't my cup of tea. I hope they keep up the good work like in Far Cry 2.

Although I havent found an official announcement ANYWHERE, everybody says there has been an announcement from Ubisoft, virtually right after their release on Far Cry 2 (or directly before the release), saying there will be a sequel (Far Cry 3), and they intend to stay with the African setting.
They're probably working on it right now! Lets hope they're fixing some of their silliest mistakes, and making this next game even better than the original.

Hopeful fixes for Far Cry 3..........!
1) Repair the A.I., so that they can at least recognize that you are trying to kill them during an assault.
2) Limit the A.I.'s 50 mile visual range..... (soldiers shooting at my exact location when I'm literally out of sight)
3) Cut down on the enemy's invisible bullet proof armor
4) Stealth????
5) Goodbye repetative missions.
6) Hello new weapons
7) Fix the speech (seriously, who talks going 90 words per second?)

and actually, besides all the comments from here and there, that people thinks the world should be smaler, I think it should be larger. at least 100km2.. i'm really looking forward to Just Cause 2, thats 1000km2 of open world :D thats probably something like oblivion or something :D

imo just cause 2 will suck as first did. it had nice graphics and not bad story, but character you play was something like super hero. it was really hard to kill him, nearly impossible.

@KRandMJ You forgot add ups: 1)Realistic bullet speed,2)Realistic weapon damaging from the environment,3)Much more fauna elements that can harm you and finding special treatment for that, 4) Body conditions that improve in time strenght (to cary more weight),stamina(run faster...longer),hand to hand combat skills for stealthy kills,etc,5) use food, find food, hunt for food( and the food to affect your skills)...and the list can continue

@KRandMJ Agreed - but 7. must be new "old" weapons. I don't want to see the modern guns seen in BC or MW. As the Jackal said the AK-47 is the great equalizer. Not the M4 and such but the old '60 - '80 ones - which still been used in the 3'rd world. Also I want a bit more equalness between the guns so you don't have to stick to one or 2 guns besides all the posibillities to do the job.

10) AI vehicles dont have a turbo mode automaticly catching up to you no matter how far you are
11) AI fire at you ONLY if you fire at them, no more messing around and getting into gun fights every 2 mins
12) more variety in vehicles INCLUDING some sort of air vehicle to quickly cross the landscapes

2. I've never been seen from far away, maybe a few times from snipers.
3. Invisible bullet proof armour? I can kill em easily..you have bad accuracy.
4.I can be stealthy..You probably suck at being stealthy.
