If it falls in salt water, you just clean it out with fresh water, and then dry it out.

my phone was in the water for 5-10mins, its in a jar of rice now, do u think it will be saved, enen though it was in their for longer then 5 mins?

@Xx3piicsxX No I don't think it will be saved anymore. The current from the battery will short the electronic circuits long enough to cause major damage. But let us know of the outcome anyways.

This method does work but success rate still depends on various factors. Eg. different type of liquids, whether corrosion/short circuit occurred etc.

There are cases where phones are not completely submerged in water and could work for awhile/days and then suddenly shut off. This would be a sign of corrosion/short circuit and would require professional help to recover your phone.

For the iPhone 4, the battery can be removed or disconnected by removing just 3 screws.
