@BrettHuestisChannel No, but I had taken several Japanese classes before going, and continued to while there. Though my Japanese was still barely passable. Many people speak english, so odds are you can get by.

Do you recommend an exchange to Japan? The University that I plan to attend in the fall of this year offers an exchange to Meiji University in Tokyo.

Did a month long exchange program there a few days ago, and while I can't tell you if it's 'good' cause I just had a rudimentary japanese class, I believe it's the only school with a manga department. Some cool students too :)

Just go to a school with an exchange program. I'm American, and that's how I got there :)
