A few things. I totally get what you mean about the characters changing from twilight to breaking dawn. She didn’t take that into account. And I don’t think it counts as teenage pregnancy. Bella was almost 19 and married. Sure it was young but not stereotypical.

I entirely agree with the fanfiction fanatics thing. I read fanfiction all the time, and I'm SO used to going Mary-Sue hunting that I'm desensitized. I actually had to draw on that AS A SKILL to get through this book series.

The ONLY piece of fanfiction I have EVER read that is worse than BD is My Immortal by Tara Gillespie. And even Tara didn't sink as low as child grooming, pedophilia, or teen pregnancy.

when i was watching the interview where she said she didn't even like to go to the book signings i got so angry. i was just like wth? aren't we like.. your fans? i felt like the book was so rushed especially after bella became a vampire. there was only like.. 2 or 3 chapters until it got into how they were going up against the volturi. plus i hated renesmee. she killed the story.

I can't remember which one of thses for videos this is, but didn't any one else catch on to the 8th color being Ultraviolet light? Also, since the vampires can see in UV, the sky should've looked purplish to Bella, & it never mentioned the sky's color.

I myself do not really like any of the books but I have to say that I may have had more respect for them if they have stayed as a trilogy Bella and Edward could have just married at the end of the Eclipse there really was not reason for BD to exist. And I can't really believe that she wants to make this book into 2 freaking movies. They are going to have to cut lots of stuff just to make it pg 13 and since nothing really happens how are they even going to get enough material to make one
BD was so disconnected from the other books that you could pretty much just have someone write you a short epilouge of the characters futures and stop reading at eclipse.

Sweetie, you're so far off base. She insulted her fans by saying that if we don't like the book, well, we never really knew the characters anyway. She insulted us by sticking with Breaking Dawn even though she had written two other books which developed and changed the characters from who they would've been if they just came from Twilight. We're not ignorant. The plot twists have been thought of thousands of times by 12 year olds. Fans didn't like the book because it was absurd. Simple as that.

Eh Ive seen/read all the interviews and she NEVER said that we didnt know the characters,where on earth did you get that idea? The characters WERE the same,trust me on that,it was only the situations that were different.Yes,I would have loved a proper battle scene,but other then that there were nothing wrong BD.The writing was developed and the plot twists were excellently delt with.Who are you to judge her?!she had this ending planned since 2005,no-one could expect her to change it for us.

My theory is that stupid, stubborn, ignorant people just couldn't handle the plot twists, and they can't respect that Stephenie wrote the book the way it was MEANT to be written. They are just upset that Stephenie didn't write the book the way THEY wanted. It was actually a great book!
maybe the reason why most twilght fansites have good review for BD is becasue you can't have anyothers views or you'll get kicked out. (i should know it happened to me)
I love your videos... but this one I do have to disagree. I feel that Stephenie was totally right to say that if we did know the characters we would understand where the book was going. I know I got it... I was hoping for it, actually. And I thought she totally made since when she said that she didn't know where she was going with the end. Im a writer as well, and while i understand COMPLETELY that characters like to go off on their own Steph supposedly had this planned since the beginning and when something is planned its alot harder for the characters to stray. But my issue is that she keeps changing her tune "Oh I knew exactly what was going to happen the entire time" to "Well I didnt even KNOW where the characters were going! They just kinda led it that way"
I meant to say that I agree that it could be quite confusing what she said. For some reason, I understood what she was trying to get the fans -us- to get. I guess some people's minds (me) just are not working that well as others. Then again, the rest of my family are all crazy. Like me. I am glad, however, that there are people who do not like Breaking Dawn. Otherwise, we would all be too happy. I hate overly happy people. No offense to anyone.

I think it would have been A LOT better if Renesmee grew like a normal child... but still inherited a special gift. I just think that the whole growing up super sonic speed thing was way too over the top, like she was trying to hard to be fantasy. And also, I could not feel the father-daughter connection at all which really really disappointed me. The thing that I DID get me through the book was the fact that there was NO Jacob/Bella crap. OMG I was sooo happy to have Jacob out of the picture.
To me, there is no Breaking Dawn. Just like you said. And personally, I AM a little pervy (boy love? Hells yea.) but her sex scenes were just...horrifying. OK. That's it. Extra points for not being afraid to give an honest review.

thank the LORD somebody agrees! i've come across most of the people commenting you that agree that breaking dawn is simply an AWFUL HORRIBLE TERRIBLE UNWORTHY book... and it stresses me out that the friends i have that also read the twilight books keep trying to kid me that it's really good.
lol. When I read the pregnant part. I was like What!!?? Edward is a frikin vampire he doesn't have a beating heart he cant get a girl pregnant!! That part was so stupid. I totally agree, i had to force myself to finish the book, usual1y i take about 1-3 days to read a book , depending on how big the book is, but it took me about 2 WEEKS to finish Breaking Dawn, sometimes i didnt even want to touch the book

because she's not a good character. every single thing about her is perfect and she doesn't cause any trouble the way normal children do...it's just illogical. i mean, think about it. a child who's born WITH ALL THEIR TEETH, has flawless grammar when they're 2 months, has more eloquence than the MOTHER, understands adult emotions when they're 2 months, looks like a toddler but is lean and graceful....i could go on forever. it's not natural. i know it's a fictional book but it needs some logic!

yeah, but a good character has flaws, and renesmee is a horrible character because she is NO trouble, grows fast, doesn't poo, doesn't have baby fat, learns to walk and speak with flawless grammar or her own, is graceful as a toddler, is born with all her teeth - and that too, perfect ones, draws everyone in, knows how to control herself and not kill humans, blah blah. it's more than being a MYTHICAL creature, it's just stupid and perfect. what's the point of a story where everything is perfect?
lol That's what I felt when I read the book. I personally feel like Renesmee was a total waste of a daughter because Bella is pretty much cheated out of being a mom. Like, her daughter will never do something stupid that's funny and everyone will talk about for years to come or something because she's so PERFECT. And she doesn't get to teach her how to walk and talk because she already came out of the womb doing those things.
I tried re-reading Twilight and New Moon the whole way and Renesmee like STAINED my view of the books!I feel really bad for Edward now!I hate how Bella seems to find Nessie more perfect than Edward and has more incentive 2 shield Nessie than Edward. I am so glad that you mentioned how sometimes the way that your characters develop can be different from how you imagine it. sometimes your characters develop out of your original expectations and then they don't fit anymore.
this is exactly what happened to another one of my favorite shows. the creators from the beginning wanted two of the characters to become love interests, but the characters kinda grew out of each other. The whole series was ruined for me because of it.
the part about forcing your way through the book: i completely agree. let me explain how bad it was:
i was sitting in a airport for 10 hours, i my ipod had died, and i had no money. nothing to do except read breaking dawn. but i didnt. i thought, rather being bored than sad. because thats what breaking dawn made me; sad and miserable

BD was a fucking joke. I've read fanfics much better! Really. I waited for it for a year, and when it finally came out, I COULDN'T FINISH IT. I was sitting on a plane back home, and I just got tears in my eyes, wondering if it was a dream. If it was a cruel joke. renesmee? pregnancy? bella horny all the time? THE THING? jacob imprinting? god...it all got to me and i couldn't finish the book.
I like this book! Really. More than Eclipse at least. I mean the whole Renesmee thing should be just cut out but e.g. the part where she's a vampire is pretty cool. with the hunting and the thing with the shield.

I LOVED THE BOOK! and i hate fanfiction, i aint a rebel and i dont just support it because its writen by stephenie meyer. i actually loved this book more than HP7. it was perfect and she gave us everything we wanted, i dont know why the fans are bitching when they got everything they asked for (happy ending for jacob, e&b married, e&b having sex, bella turning into a vampire, no one dieing etc.) i loved it. period.

Okay hun, I think that you need to calm down a little I know that you have the right to be mad about things like this and I agree with you on a couple of things but please take a breath
I also think that the majority of the problem was on SM, for not taking a break from writing (like anything else, it drains you, and then you don't get good quality) and for having written Forever Dawn first. Being drained makes you a bit lazy, and copying and pasting is not so much a problem. The characters didn't just change- they changed too much or too little. And I was wondering why all these awesome vamps at the end were never mentioned in Eclipse. Bad planning, if you ask me.
Actually, I liked BD. I don't fit into any of your groups, and I thought that BD was substandard, not to mention not in line with the rest of the series, but I liked it. I also loathed it. Parts, I loved. Other parts made me want to gouge out my own eyes and mail them to her with a note saying, "look what you made me do!" But then I would be out a pair of eyes, and in jail for harrassment. Not worth it.

Something that gets me is that Bella got a "happy ending" without having to make sacrifices, but she said she didn't want it to be depressing, uh, that's THE POINT of having a vampire story, they have to make major sacrifices to be happy, it can't be rainbows & ponies!
What I notice is the time line of series. Theres no possible way that all the events could happened in a year. Im mean Edward left Bella after she turned 18 and then came back after like 8 months and then they got engaged, married, had a child, and turned into a vampire right before her next birthday.
Don't get me wrong. I love your reviews and stuff. But, her fans do not know her characters better than she does. Characters change. They develop. And it was the way she wanted the book to go. We, as her fans, shouldn't judge her choices. You either like it or you don't. You shouldn't think that she should write to please others. Its the other way around. A writer writes to please themselves.
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on some things. I actually did like the book, and I did predict a lot of what was going to happen. Most of it made sense to me.
i understand some of what you were saying, but i have to say that i really liked breaking dawn. i just didn't like the ending...she could of ended it better..
i understand that she had this ending planned out when she was writting the whole series but she could've written a much interesting and creative ending. she is such a good writter and i am so mad that the ending is soo predictive. but whatever.
but anyways, i had to force myself to finish breaking dawn too. i was soo disapointed in the middle of the book. i was getting excited when i was reading the first 4 chapters then it all went in the trash from there. i got so bored and i actually set the book down only meaning for it to be 10 seconds and then didn't pick it up until 5 days later. i am truly sorry for wasting all of my time getting excited to read it. i could have written a better ending.

I entirely agree with the fanfiction fanatics thing. I read fanfiction all the time, and I'm SO used to going Mary-Sue hunting that I'm desensitized. I actually had to draw on that AS A SKILL to get through this book series.
I'm slightly ashamed of myself for admitting that, to tell you the truth. T^T
The ONLY piece of fanfiction I have EVER read that is worse than BD is My Immortal by Tara Gillespie. And even Tara didn't sink as low as child grooming, pedophilia, or teen pregnancy.

when i was watching the interview where she said she didn't even like to go to the book signings i got so angry. i was just like wth? aren't we like.. your fans? i felt like the book was so rushed especially after bella became a vampire. there was only like.. 2 or 3 chapters until it got into how they were going up against the volturi. plus i hated renesmee. she killed the story.

I can't remember which one of thses for videos this is, but didn't any one else catch on to the 8th color being Ultraviolet light? Also, since the vampires can see in UV, the sky should've looked purplish to Bella, & it never mentioned the sky's color.

And I can't really believe that she wants to make this book into 2 freaking movies. Sweetie, you're so far off base. She insulted her fans by saying that if we don't like the book, well, we never really knew the characters anyway. She insulted us by sticking with Breaking Dawn even though she had written two other books which developed and changed the characters from who they would've been if they just came from Twilight. We're not ignorant. The plot twists have been thought of thousands of times by 12 year olds. Fans didn't like the book because it was absurd. Simple as that.

Eh Ive seen/read all the interviews and she NEVER said that we didnt know the characters,where on earth did you get that idea? The characters WERE the same,trust me on that,it was only the situations that were different.Yes,I would have loved a proper battle scene,but other then that there were nothing wrong BD.The writing was developed and the plot twists were excellently delt with.Who are you to judge her?!she had this ending planned since 2005,no-one could expect her to change it for us.

Most people liked it actually, according to the polls on twilight fansites etc..
My theory is that stupid, stubborn, ignorant people just couldn't handle the plot twists, and they can't respect that Stephenie wrote the book the way it was MEANT to be written. They are just upset that Stephenie didn't write the book the way THEY wanted. It was actually a great book!

Im a writer as well, and while i understand COMPLETELY that characters like to go off on their own Steph supposedly had this planned since the beginning and when something is planned its alot harder for the characters to stray. But my issue is that she keeps changing her tune "Oh I knew exactly what was going to happen the entire time" to "Well I didnt even KNOW where the characters were going! They just kinda led it that way"

I think it would have been A LOT better if Renesmee grew like a normal child... but still inherited a special gift. I just think that the whole growing up super sonic speed thing was way too over the top, like she was trying to hard to be fantasy. And also, I could not feel the father-daughter connection at all which really really disappointed me. The thing that I DID get me through the book was the fact that there was NO Jacob/Bella crap. OMG I was sooo happy to have Jacob out of the picture.

2. better organization
3. Sentence fluency
4. Diction
5. Character development
6. Foreshadow
Etc. Etc.
I'm a twilight fan and i accept the books for what they are, i just think it had more potential.

because she's not a good character. every single thing about her is perfect and she doesn't cause any trouble the way normal children do...it's just illogical. i mean, think about it. a child who's born WITH ALL THEIR TEETH, has flawless grammar when they're 2 months, has more eloquence than the MOTHER, understands adult emotions when they're 2 months, looks like a toddler but is lean and graceful....i could go on forever. it's not natural. i know it's a fictional book but it needs some logic!

yeah, but a good character has flaws, and renesmee is a horrible character because she is NO trouble, grows fast, doesn't poo, doesn't have baby fat, learns to walk and speak with flawless grammar or her own, is graceful as a toddler, is born with all her teeth - and that too, perfect ones, draws everyone in, knows how to control herself and not kill humans, blah blah. it's more than being a MYTHICAL creature, it's just stupid and perfect. what's the point of a story where everything is perfect?

lol That's what I felt when I read the book. I personally feel like Renesmee was a total waste of a daughter because Bella is pretty much cheated out of being a mom. Like, her daughter will never do something stupid that's funny and everyone will talk about for years to come or something because she's so PERFECT. I tried re-reading Twilight and New Moon the whole way and Renesmee like STAINED my view of the books!I feel really bad for Edward now!I hate how Bella seems to find Nessie more perfect than Edward and has more incentive 2 shield Nessie than Edward. I am so glad that you mentioned how sometimes the way that your characters develop can be different from how you imagine it. sometimes your characters develop out of your original expectations and then they don't fit anymore.
this is exactly what happened to another one of my favorite shows. the creators from the beginning wanted two of the characters to become love interests, but the characters kinda grew out of each other. The whole series was ruined for me because of it.

i was sitting in a airport for 10 hours, i my ipod had died, and i had no money. nothing to do except read breaking dawn. but i didnt. i thought, rather being bored than sad. because thats what breaking dawn made me; sad and miserable

I didn't hate BD, overall I liked it... kinda... definitely not my favorite and I won't be rereading it anytime soon, but I thought it was alright, I accept it, as you say...
I did feel like it was sort of a forced story (sorta like the HP7 epilogue) I felt it was all just like thrown in there, and I completely agree with you on the whole character part, she just added people at the last minute and I never got a chance to know who they were, that really does bug me...

I LOVED THE BOOK! and i hate fanfiction, i aint a rebel and i dont just support it because its writen by stephenie meyer. i actually loved this book more than HP7. it was perfect and she gave us everything we wanted, i dont know why the fans are bitching when they got everything they asked for (happy ending for jacob, e&b married, e&b having sex, bella turning into a vampire, no one dieing etc.) i loved it. period.

That was what bugged the hell out of me the most, was that absolute bullshit about this truly being how the characters are.
She obviously has lost sight of who her characters are completely.
I don't know exactly how Breaking Dawn could have been worse. I had worst case scenarios in my mind before reading, and she surpassed all of them.

I also think that the majority of the problem was on SM, for not taking a break from writing (like anything else, it drains you, and then you don't get good quality) and for having written Forever Dawn first. Being drained makes you a bit lazy, and copying and pasting is not so much a problem. The characters didn't just change- they changed too much or too little. And I was wondering why all these awesome vamps at the end were never mentioned in Eclipse. Bad planning, if you ask me.

Actually, I liked BD. I don't fit into any of your groups, and I thought that BD was substandard, not to mention not in line with the rest of the series, but I liked it. I also loathed it. Parts, I loved. Other parts made me want to gouge out my own eyes and mail them to her with a note saying, "look what you made me do!" But then I would be out a pair of eyes, and in jail for harrassment. Not worth it.

Something that gets me is that Bella got a "happy ending" without having to make sacrifices, but she said she didn't want it to be depressing, uh, that's THE POINT of having a vampire story, they have to make major sacrifices to be happy, it can't be rainbows & ponies!

What I notice is the time line of series. Theres no possible way that all the events could happened in a year. Im mean Edward left Bella after she turned 18 and then came back after like 8 months and then they got engaged, married, had a child, and turned into a vampire right before her next birthday.

Don't get me wrong. I love your reviews and stuff. But, her fans do not know her characters better than she does. Characters change. They develop. And it was the way she wanted the book to go. We, as her fans, shouldn't judge her choices. You either like it or you don't. You shouldn't think that she should write to please others. Its the other way around. A writer writes to please themselves.

i understand that she had this ending planned out when she was writting the whole series but she could've written a much interesting and creative ending. she is such a good writter and i am so mad that the ending is soo predictive. but whatever.

but anyways, i had to force myself to finish breaking dawn too. i was soo disapointed in the middle of the book. i was getting excited when i was reading the first 4 chapters then it all went in the trash from there. i got so bored and i actually set the book down only meaning for it to be 10 seconds and then didn't pick it up until 5 days later. i am truly sorry for wasting all of my time getting excited to read it. i could have written a better ending.
