I can't believe the stupidity of people who don't realize that other countries (NOT only Germany) translate programmes into their own language! Would English people watch shows in German, or Chinese???????? They can't even speak their own language properly, if the comments on here are anything to go by. If these foreign versions are on YouTube, it's because no-one has uploaded the English version - or it has been cancelled by the powers that be - it's still no excuse for an anti-German campaign!

@neophyte777 - how sad it is to see that there is still such unqualified hatred against the Germans after all these years. Intelligent people would know that many shows are sold to foreign broadcasting companies, and the Germans are clever enough to be able to keep (and understand) the original show title. Try doing that in Britain - nobody would understand a word if if wasn't in English - and preferably in one-syllable words!

Yes, the English and Americans barely speak any other language, but they have no reason to, as the whole world speaks English. Happens if you dominated the world with movies (Hollywood) and lateron the internet.

@2LQ2 I have no idea. I am German and the dub is not funny. I'm looking for English clips of this show everywhere but it's all German. I thought this one was in English because of the title, which just happens to be the same in German... oh well, gonna have to get the DVDs i guess, lol

@expatbritingermany I hardly ever speak German myself, but I understand it. I learned German at high school (and French, English and Spanish). Also it is a lot like my own language (Dutch). And after seeing both versions, I can deliberately say that this doesn't even come close to the original. It's like dubbing Tatort or Derrick in English. But guess what! They don't! Because dubbing is a horrid and dumb thing and should only be used for kiddie shows.

we like our language, but one aspect gets lost in todays germany, back in the older days when you had all those american and british accents they actually dared to use all of germanys, but today, even in a docu style series, one sentence a person speaks with dialect they make subtitles like we can't understand the accents of our own language.

that#s just to make it easier for the immigrants, there are no accents in any series anymore, god, i hate that.
