@666brokenhearts that was 2 and half years ago ...i was still learning :-). I didnt want my first video to have me pulling the throttle back and throwing me off the bike like you see on so many other youtube videos...although it would serve as a nice laugh!
@GibsonRay6 I doubt it stock, you would need to lower it. Dont think your feet would touch the ground the seat is really high compared to other bikes.
@sk84life9393 I couldn't agree more... I spent the last 4 years throwing around a torquey 450 and it made transitioning to sport bikes so much easier.
i just got an 02 r6 a week ago but just got it plated today, rode about 100 miles on it lol, beat a cbr900rr, i have the double tuning devil exhaust but it has to have alot more mods done to it cuz it just has trouble staying on 2 wheels
ya u say u wanna go up in small strides but who has that kinda money to keep buying another bike i went out and just got a used r6 u just need self control and value ur life
i have a 02 r6 just like this one and its a comfortable ride and i'm 6'2. also have a 07 cbr1000rr but the r6 is better street ride, and just because its carbed doesn't mean it won't pull 160 mph , trust me
ive done 125, 600 hornet, thn 01' r6, but in england we have a crap license system so im limited to 33bhp *offically anyway lol* but yeh the r6 is great, the one in this video is 02 so injected, but pretty identical really, fast enough for any1 sane
I has one of these but in red at home right now, just passed my course 2 weeks ago and been riding it around my neighbourhood practicing. I love it! Wherever I am I'm thinking about my bike and sad that I got it so late in the year =(
thats one thing i dont like about the states, and about the direct access here in the uk. how people can do a few days on a low powered commuter and then jump on something like this. i know someone who went straight to a busa cause of its rep...crashed it due to inexperiance. ive gone 125, 400, 500, 600, and currently have an 02 r6.
@o0heavyb0o yes but sport bikes are also extremely unforgiving for a rider, my buddy got his first bike (r6) and crashed on the 2nd day because it was unforgiving (he thought he could just hop on a bike and ride like i did since im sponsored now, but what he didnt understand is that i started on a "beginner" bike)
@o0heavyb0o Not true at all. Knowing your limits while in control of the bike is one thing, but knowing exactly how to maneuver in a moment of panic is another. Someone who jumps on a 1000 for their first bike can keep it at 35mph in a 35 zone all they want, but if something jumps out in front of them and they give it a little too much throttle in the middle of their swerve by accident, the bike is going where they don't want it to; without them on it. Experience really is key.
@o0heavyb0o Fair enough, I was just saying it's not a good idea for a noob to get on a bike with enough power to rip you off the back. I've only been riding for a few months but i already have over 3000 miles under my belt and I'm really glad I spent that time on the bike that I did. Next season I'm getting an R1 and feel comfortable getting it because I've been pushing the 600 I was on to its limit for a month and a half now. All about experience and comfort level combined.
@v4forlife Well, with the good sides of our country come the bad as well. I completely agree with you that (generally speaking) people should have to go through a succession of engine sizes before going to a monster. Even Ferrari won't let you jump into an Enzo, just because you have the money. However, the freedom to make that choice for yourself is priceless. If people are dumb enough to think they can jump onto a Busa with zero experience, maybe they weren't meant to be in the gene pool?
@v4forlife I know what you mean, I've got a ninja 250, first bike, selling it for a newer 250 because thats what I'm comfortable with right now. I had a buyer lined up and he was ready to buy it until his friends called him a pussy for getting a 250. He had never been on a bike but because his friends thought he was a pussy, he wants to start in a 600 now. I laughed at him.
@v4forlife lol Who cares? You're just trying to justify the fact that you had to spend all those years riding mopeds. I started on a zx-6r 636 and I was fine.
Get back on that bike! or i will! lol. One minute wouldnt satisfy my craving one bit :D. I'm gettin my first bike this weekend (an R6 obviously). Can't wait it's like i'm on a permanent sugar rush lol
I just got this bike yesterday, and it's a pretty tall bike. I'm 5'11 and I could barely put my feet down (only the front of my feet touch). You might want to lower it a bit if you decide to get it.
Yeah, you could get your feet down but not flat footed. Well, after trying boots on and riding in boots, it's definitely a lot easier to flat foot. So I guess what I'm saying is it'll be hard to put both feet down flat with athletic shoes unless you're tall :)
ye it is really good ... actually i cant stop watching the vid cuz im newbie too and its so good to start step by step not just to push the gas and ...
I was seriously considering a 2008 ninja 250r but I saw this bike for a very sweet deal and i had to buy it! The MSF course really helped with understanding how to keep the power in control.
Thanks! It's an ART Pro Series II exhaust. The previous owner already had it on there. Everything else is stock I believe. There isn't too much about it on the internet that I can find but it does say "Made in England" on the pipe.
Hey did you find it nervous leaning into corners? It seems daunting -.-
