  • typical toyota, over 20 years old and everything still works haha :P

  • also mines a 85

  • thats because they replaced the cressida with the Camry ,

they used the body for earlier camerys but then discoinued it in the us some time in the late 90s they went to new body style,

read it up on wikipedia , lexus took over the body of the cressida or some stuff like that which is also now no more so ,

the cressida has a good darn history ,

  • mine just has dead battery with only less then 80 k miles original on it 1 owner besides me lol had a carfax so i know it was original lol , the only problem it had was broken tail light and a blinker which i went to junk yard to get the lights fixed/replaced got the tail light on line now its like new cept the paint job on the left is a little messed up, -due to age and theres a dent usual with used cars- the size of a walmart shopping cart go figure and runs like a beauty haha

  • are u sure this is a 88...

cuz i swear it had a digital speedo and a horizontal rev counter....

  • @AznfoboiXO Yeah its an 88 there was a version with leather that had the digital speedo.. mine was a base model

  • Looks almost like a Camry, and the seat belt chime sounds just like it.

  • I have a mint 78 toyota pickup 3 speed automatic. with a LOT of money in it. but thats a steal at 700

  • How much did it cost you?

  • @ATBMr666 $700 Nearly nothing the dude didn't realize what rare kind of guy he was selling....these cars in perfect condition are worth over 3,000.... Japanese RWD luxury... this is what started lexus!

  • @jtreign9097 hell yeah. I got mine for 75 bucks.... because he was tired of it sitting in his front yard. mine is fully loaded and al works 209k I need to get it painted but the inside is clean ive done most of changes, and part preplacement myself so ive only put about 200 into it. I plan on keeping it forever. even if i get a new car.

  • @dinisharob mine has 292,000

  • @jtreign9097 You got to remember though, you have to put the lap belt on or else it won't work well. Also, I think you should see if you can try to get leather seats somewhere. Much more classy.

  • @Goldenrod636 yeah i always remembered to do the lap belt... its pointless without it. and leather would have been better but the car is long gone now

  • I have a 1987 toyota Cressida is white i love it.. It drives smooth is the best.. Im hooking it up lil by lil..

  • @Mjona504 me 2 i got only 90k miles on it

  • i have a 87 and its does 125 with 18X8s and its stock

  • the ect is for for more power and especially when the overdrive is off also

  • dude its a blooody bomb lol

  • mine has 278,000 miles on it

  • Haha good video and great car. Good luck in the future with your studies and a job.

  • JT.... the ETC button is the Traction Control =)

  • That button is for the power mode on the Tranny, it has 2 modes power and normal, Power mode shifts are quicker. I have from a 86 to 92............Welcome to Florida !! Come on down

  • @jtreign9097

Aww, my bought an Audi A6 avant. 2004. Its got 125K on the odo. Pretty nice car. You should get an Audi

  • amazing car!! great choice

  • what area of mass?

  • hay bud just make sure check the timing belt also the licking coud be from rear main or rear cam seal good lock is very nice car .

  • i fixed the knock. it was the a few broken studs on the torque converter... new threads and bolts and shes perfect. also 20w50 seals those annoying oil leaks,, i also did the valve cover gaskets a month ago. now she needs front/rear shocks and tranny fluid flush

  • Those cars were nice and fancy for their time, the 80s Nissan Maximas were good too

  • As stated, the ECT stands for "Electronically Controlled Transmission" which adjusts shift points for power or economy, depending on what setting is on. I see you still have the original Toyota key. Nice! Cressida's are good cars.

  • would you know anything about the ECT not working? i don't notice anything change from sport to normal. also my overdrive light flashes

  • @jtreign9097 great reliable car.

  • @trinoma88 yes i drove it it all over the place state to state and even drove it into canada once coming from NY. the main issue was the transmission was shifting hard when i bought it it eventually died but i only lost reverse and 4th gear...lol she still drove!

  • @jtreign9097 wow that car is so reliable, if you can have the transmission fixed or swap that will be great and perfect car. how is ur nissan doing now? i know nissan have good engines too.

  • @trinoma88 i traded the toyota for the nissan. and its got a very reliable and nearly trouble free engine. the legendary VG30E 3.0L V6 known for its reliability world wide! these engines wont die at all. to prevent disappointment i will rebuild this transmission myself and keep it nearly stock so it will live a nice life

  • @jtreign9097 yeah nissan is known for good engines, they have an award for best engine . which motor oil do you think is the best from your experience?

  • @trinoma88 id have to say Mobil 1 5w30 & Pennzoil platinum 5w30. and a Purolator oil filter. but i have used oil filters like FRAM,STP,NAPA and there pretty good too

  • @jtreign9097 Have you tried synthethic oils ? Do you like them compared to base oil ?

i never use them coz i like shorter oil change interval.

  • @trinoma88 When i bought my my Chrysler Sebring back in 1996 brand new the only oil i used was CAM2 Super Plus 5w30 and this oil was non synthetic and i used a fram oil filter along with fram air filters. i never had a problem.. engine was a Mitsubishi V6 thats why! i do recommend using synthetic motor oil as most new cars now require it. and sometimes you can have your warranty voided if you us non synthetic oil

  • engine is sold for that van

  • jtreign9097

RUST BUCKET! The motors in these cars will run forever but the body will rust away like hell that's why practically none are on the road! I'm quite surprised by the shape of this Cressida, I never see ANY at all. Clean this car up, rust proof it, and then restore it. This car is a future classic.

  • was a garaged car in Florida it has been rust proofed aug, 93 and Nov 02. i give the suspension a 7 out of ten its nearly perfect no frame rot just minor spots on my driver fender no issue. i love the car its fast its boxy and alot of room in the trunk and inside the car

  • nice ride

  • cool man would be great to see that Cressida all cleaned up and running down the road without leaving an oil trail.

Once you get the leaks fixed throw some polish on that worn out paint and bring it back to life.

  • she is still dirty from sitting under a tree for 2 years. previous owner never washed it. the dirt will come right off. i will wash and wax and scrub the dirt ff...the only leak it has is a major valve cover leak... ordered some gaskets from toyota dealer so im waiting tomorrow to sealer her up

  • Ah cool at least its only the valve cover gasket.. easiest gasket to replace. My metro has a very tiny leak at the valve cover.. just wet around the gasket

  • What area of NY do you live in? I really think I saw you before in a store lol

or someone who looks a LOT like you

  • long island

  • ah ok must have been someone who looks similar lol

  • i travel alot anyhow

  • I have an 03 Camry and it's owner manual is similar to yours. Their is a seperate maintenance mnaul. I don't have lighting on the floor, but there is lighting in the glove box.

  • you've got allot of leaves where the wipers are. The interior looks good and fairly clean and well kept

  • i likes rwd :D

  • JT you can always build a redneck ranch at the farm.

  • a redneck ranch and garage for my cressida...but grandbitch must not queef into my intake i wont be happy about that

  • very nice toyota man clean too hope all is well man what ever happend to the ford you had?

  • TEMS is electronic shock absorber control, ETC is a power shift mode (and a normal mode) which lowers shift points for better acceleration at the expense of gas mileage.

  • my 1989 honda accord dose the same sounds on the belts lol and my is that clean to

  • LMFAO, There will be no sexing up in this car. Maybe that sabb over there. HAHA That's great!

  • Nice man, too bad ya won't be movin ta Florida anytime soon, but I understand, the economy sucks for alotta people & speakin of the Voyager braking down my friend 2000 Concorde outta nowhere died on him today & wouldn't restart, it would barley turn over but no go.. it has the 2.7L so yea.....

  • Cool. Hope you enjoy your new car. Although I really miss the sebring. My sebring is down right now but hoping to get her running soon. Good luck with your journey.

  • i miss my 96 sebring alot i owned it new but money issues happened
