Im using standard paint program on my windows xp, to save characters and stuff, i have been putting the $ in front of them, but every time i go into events to place my character, it wont let me put the full char in graphics. It keeps cutting off parts of he ones I have made, regardless if i put the $ sign in front of them or not. Can someone help me figure out why my own personal chars I make wont appear all they way in graphics? Plz respond A.S.A.P. thank you! =D

Okay, i make custom sprites all the time, well not recently, but all you really have to do is rename the pic with a $ in the front to get it to work(rename from the folder, not from the program), and it works with a single character pane(3 x 4). Try it. Not to crit. you or anything.

Okay, im using Internet Explorer for this.

I've gone to the link in the description for the sprite maker. I would create the sprite and save it, but when ever I try to open it, the file is unsupported. It saves as a .png file, and i've tried using both Paint and Paint.net.

Any advice?

Go to Rpg Makervx website you have to type in the address and type "net" in it and go to Resource Showcase after you sign up and visit Damien666, you can download his Character Generator net

@4eversupersonicgirl Well its easy! All you need to do is change the clothes[if you want] then click the download image thing. If its in jap[i am too lazy to check],go to google translator and make every jap site u see,will become english. I remember that you need to put a $ at the start of the images name.

nope, the size of the image is either too small or to large, i would wager to say, its too small, plus it would stay constant along with rpgmaker xp

@TheSoftwarez i use this all the time actually, the sprites are a little big for xp but the bes thting is you can make any number of sprites you want to replace the ones in game so its no biggie

Using the free program i gave you called gimp, you can export your images as whatever file you need.

Or right click,

-open with- ms paint

file save as  click the arrow downward and choose your file extension

u don't need to edit the sprites. Put a $ infront of the name to make it work without editing.

Yeah thats what i was talking about, You just need to make sure your using a sprite sheet normal size. The generator makes them the right size for using the $ infront. Thats what it was made for.
