Just watched the Letterman live performance where you can somewhat clearly see the guitarist and he definately is playing Bm then F#m and then A. The main riff is Bm, A and G. I guess this makes since it is an easier key to sing in rather than the faster recorded version which was speeded up a 1/2 step.

@victoriaailyx3 if it's your left hand, make sure you're holding the guitar diagonally with it's head up, it's easier to strum bar chords this way.
