Is it allowed by international/Olympic rules? I could clean 35 pounds more using the "bounce"; but it wasn't allowed when I was a lifter years ago. I think that the word "clean" in "Clean and jerk", may mean that the clean is NOT allowed to touch the body till it gets to the chest.

But, talking about Arnold, on top of being allowed back then, he was not taking them to increase stength, but he was still really strong in his lifts anyway, though he did not really need to be so much, he just was. Ok I must correct myself a bit: steroids CAN increase considerably also strength, not just size and muscles look. But, talking about Arnold, on top of being allowed back then, he was not taking them to increase stength, but he was still really strong in his lifts anyway, though he did not really need to be so much, he just was. Of course we still can't compare him with "Rez" up here, but actually I wasn't comparing them anyway

Ok man, maybe yes steroids but they increase strength just little, they mostly enhance muscles for the show, that is the target of a bodybuilder. Back then they were mostly allowed, Arnold used it. But I read that he did not use straps to hold the bars in his heavy lifts (..strong grip) and I just said Arnold as a well known example of a strong...white, could have chosen others (look around today). But we can't compare a bodybuilder with a powerlifter. And so what about the background song?

If the guy who can lift a house doesn't have the strongest finger then he can't claim to be the strongest in the world. To be the strongest in the world, he needs to be the strongest in all aspects of strength.
