I couldn't see her very well but I think the beleaguered wife is Jennifer Warren, who would go on to coach "Lexie" in "Ice Castles." I always liked her and wished she had done more.
It would have been great if she had told them..you two are more trouble than your worth when way or another but it'll soon be over now!..then she pulls out her flame thrower and fries them..ahhhhhhh!
What's with the men in all of these old coffee commercials insulting their wives??? It's astounding that women put up with this kind of sexist advertising for so long. No wonder we have the feminists today. I get it now.
ANd how hard was it to make a decent cup of coffee in those days? You'd think it was rocket science.
"The way your coffee tastes, why bother?" No one would make a commercial today with the man mouthing off to the woman like that. NOW would have a sh-t fit.
Some folks don't know this, but the slogan "Good to the last drop" was coined by President Teddy Roosevelt after drinking the coffee at the Maxwell House cafe in Nashville.
Wikipedia sez Mrs. Olsen started in '65 and continued for 21 years while Cora started in the 70's. I don't think Cora lasted as long as her, though, despite being a more appealing and interesting character!
Hooray for Cora! I always felt like I was visiting a favorite older relative when I saw those ads and wished I could stay long than a minute at a time. That husband dissing his wife's coffee to Cora was a snot, though! Too bad Cora didn't send the Flying Monkeys after him for his 'tude!
Could anyone upload the ad with Michael caines wife shakira baksh? That would be awesome :) thanks

What a wholesome 70s housewife she is!
Take that insult and let it fester til only Valium makes it better!
Just for that she should not remove his 'ring around the collar'!
That way the guys at the office won't notice his clean shirts anymore!

It's okay, men have been paying for it in advertising ever since. The guy/husband/dad/boyfriend of today is always portrayed as a schmuck.

Margaret Hamilton even proves herself to be quite a witch in this commercial, and a very nice one at that!
(And I mean "nice" as in "friendly"!)

Can someone answer a question for me. Who was first? Cora with Maxwell House or Mrs. Olsen with Folgers.
