  • Very Nice work!! Your great.. I have pretty much seen all your videos, haha and I have progressed alot! .. I was wondering if you could do a lesson on the live crossroads solo with john and eric clapton. That solo that john does is amazing. That would be rad

  • hey man, great playing! im sure we all appreciate you breaking some of these songs down because i cant find a good tab on the internet for some of the jm songs i wanna learn... so thank you

just a request, that live in la version of wait until tomorrow is amaazing, if you could break that one down that would be cool.

or right now im working on who did you think i was, and im struggliong with some of the fast licks in it..

anyway, thanks for the videos, keep them coming :)

  • lol. awesome!. "Wait Until Tomorrow" - Try! album. the solo there is insane.

  • nice can u maybe do a video of this with a close up of the fret board cuz i cant quite make out some of the stuff u are doing also can u maybe do a lesson that shows some of the other places you can go in this solo in G major for improvising ive been playing around with this solo and cant quite figure out where a lot of the licks are for the second solo. anyway thanks and keep these nice lessons coming

  • what kind of amp and settings get that sound the best?

  • @bback54 you definitely want a fender tube for that sound. He obviously uses several kinds, i know Two-Rock is a brand he uses a lot nowadays. But speaking in terms of "fender" amps, he uses a Bandmaster amp head. If you cant get hold of one of those (particularly the ones from the 60's) definitely try out the fender deville or bassman. the key to mayer's sound is a strat set between the neck and middle pickups. You'll also wanna cut the midrange on an amp to low setting and boost the bass.

  • your crib is sickkkk. looks like a nice place to throw a banger.

  • ditto that! more JM stuff! good work!

  • More John Mayer Live tutorials please!! =]] love your stuff mann! keep em coming!

  • Very awesome .... I have two requests ........

The outro solo that starts around the 7min mark from the same Where the Light is show.... and also they Covered In Rain solo from Any Given Thursday.

You would dead serious improve my life a great deal.

    ty sir

  • awesome thank you!!!

  • great lesson! still need a little help with that raking part. can't see where your fingers are. He seems to do that a lot and I could never figure it out. You're a great player! keep it up! you should sell lessons with tab on your website

  • Thanks man.. I'd pretty much figured out the solo but i missed the raking back technique you did around 3:36.. that just adds that extra bit of flavour.. thanks

As well.. I figured out the final solo of the song as well.. I can't believe the emotion he plays it with. Are there any little tricky techniques that he uses to get that extra bit out where a normal player wouldn't ? Such as that raking back technique ?
