essentially the strum limit in pal is a bit higher than ntsc, enough to make bath significantly easier and trogdor possible to fc. beyond that it makes six and stuff like that much easier. what i did was i used swapmagic to force the ps2 to run gh2 in pal mode. but you also need a tv that supports pal or a converter that can convert the video signal to vga so that you can use a monitor.

PAL is different from NTSC, which is the type of region encoded data in the CD of the game. PAL has a less strict timing window compared to NTSC, and since GH2 already has a strict timing window it makes fast strumming songs such as this one easier.

Actually no.

In PAL, the game is played at 50Hz, so the game refreshes frames a tad slower than NTSC which is played at 60Hz.

The framerate is a little lower in PAL, meaning the strum limit is a little bit higher, by about 1nps or so. That's also why UKOGmonkey is able to get all the insane RB FC's with strumming

PAL is a colour transmission method, though it's a word also used informally for a 625 line/50 Hz television system. It is the television system used in almost all Europe. It's counterpart in the US, Canada and the North of South America is the NTSC system, which is a different colour transmission method. The term NTSC is often used describe a 525 line/60 Hz television system.

Many DVDs are labelled NTSC or PAL, and these are preferably played on a DVD-player using the disc's television system.

Oh, and of course there are also PAL and NTSC versions of video games, and the versions affect the difficulty of fast strumming in Guitar Hero II. GHII for some reason has a limit for the maximum strumming speed that will be registered by the game. This strum limit is higher on PAL systems of the game than on NTSC systems, and thus fast strumming is easier to hit on PAL than on NTSC... (Which is why Trogdor almost exclusively has been FCed on PAL systems)
