Torture is nn-American. It just peeves me. Since the revolutionary war we have used torture. After world war two we used torture to extract false confessions from German prisoners. Tortures far worse than Abu Ghraib. We castrated and electrocuted these men to confess to atrocities they never committed, Why the outrage now? Was "The Greatest Generation" immune to scrutiny. There seems to be sliding scales of justice. My feelings are torn. It's hard to pass judgement upon this subject.

But when it came to the beheadings of americans, the degree of comdemnations and outrages were pale in comparison. Waterboarding isn't "harmless." It's not simulated drowning, it's *controlled* drowning. People can DIE from it. When it was used against our soldiers, we called it brutal water torture.
