    their so sick!

  • no, the original body was stainless steel, i don't know about the current model. i guess that it is also stainless steel.

  • 15,000!? They only built 9,000 originals. Where did you hear they have enough NOS for 15,000 cars?

  • After the FBI & GM took all his money and tried to frame him on drug charges the original dies for the body were flown on US military aircraft and dumped in the ocean.Delorean was aquitted on all charges because FBI agents threatened to kill him family if he didnt agree to smuggle drugs for them.

  • (media boobs!)

  • I pick up my remanufactured in Florida in 3 days,...cant sleep at night!

  • it is really is a great and fun car. long live the delorean

  • unbelieveable piece of machinery just brilliant and the gullwing doors make the DMC more special

  • I have a red one. Just bought it, some problems 14,300 miles. Hoping it does'nt kill me to fix.

  • Well how is it red? did someone paint the stainless steel red? And also I think I've saw that one on Ebay right?

  • Yes it was painted red, there was 2 on e-bay this is the nicer one, so far I am up to $13,000 for restoration and repairs lots of fun I should have bought a Viper

  • No you made a good choice buying a DeLorean. They're more of a "Head-Turner" rather than the viper. By the way, is they DeLorean you bought the one with John DeLorean's signature on the serial plate? My dad has owned his DeLorean since he graduated college in 82'. its got all 8,025 original miles on it. y mods he added were the stage II engine and the stage II exaust.

  • I am not sure about the signature on the serial plate. Mine is an October 81

  • oh my dads is a March 82 build with the side striping.. which will need the white letters re-furbished if your car came stock with the side stripe..

  • They should sell the tank from "Batman Begins", that tank is bad-ass!

  • Lol, the guy in that yellow shirt was about to jack that DeLorean...

  • lol he said uber

  • lol. No you don't. Safety is everyones concern;)

  • These cars were so great!!! I want to buy one when I start to drive, prob in a year when I am 20. BTTF rules!!

  • nothing more elegant than a DMC

  • my father worked in the plant in dunmurry!! one of the main flaws was the engine. It deserved much more than the wheezing old renault V6. in its time the performance was nothing special and could be outran by even modest hatchbacks. other than that, a great piece of machinary!!!

  • I think they gat like 17mpg

  • They actually get an average of 23-25mpg

  • WOW, pretty good for an 80s car.

  • I'm getting 28!

  • And what's great about DeLoreans are that not only are they fairly exotic, they are also actually fairly practical!

For one, you have no problem with rust. Stainless steel panels, carbon fiber body, and a steel chassis that is heavily coated in a special epoxy, effectively sealing it from the outside environment.

Plus, a lot of parts were industry standard whenever possible, including the PRV (Peugeot/Renault/Volvo) engine. And, these cars, when maintained, were quite reliable.

  • I Have 2 Of Them

  • Lucky man!

  • I love to own this masterpiece, but an average guy in LA is not a good situation with parking and whatnot. Gotta move out to the burbs.

  • I'm soo happy that my car is making a comeback! It's about time! James Espy of DMC said that a Stage 3 prototype has been developed and will be maikng and appearance sometime next year. It's susposed to have apx 238 hp. I'v talked to people who own Deloreans and said that they are a very reliable car. Older Car's, cars in general have to be maintained. If you get one that hasn't been maintained of course it's going to be bad.

  • I don't care what car you're driving, if you park against a curb it's hard to get up and out because you're stepping up eight inches higher than if you weren't against a curb. ...Or..he's just a moron.

  • Stage 2 refers to the upgraded 197hp engine. There is no such thing as a stage 3. And how do you qualify that these are bad cars. Obviously you don't own one. Let me guess, you had a "friend" who had one and it wasn't taken care of before he got it and so it, like any other car that hadn't been taken care of, was in poor condition... and therefore in your mind a piece of shit. Right? Ignorant attitude.

  • Kevin,

Nice Delorean. Wish I had one of those cars!

    Bob Cutrupi

  • Great stuff, Funny How the couldn't get out of the car. But that was mostly because he was stepping up onto a high side walk which appeared to be about level with the door sill. It also accentuates how low these cars really are.

  • cool! thx kevin!
