  • hvor kan jeg lære dette språket ??I want to go the faroes !!

  • @Norskeviking001 Faroes is not that hard faroes island is like little Denmark! We just say it on a other way but the same!

  • vá hvað þetta er líkt íslensku!

  • How is life there? Do people keep moving from there to bigger places? Is there a good social life, with social gatherings? Do most people have jobs? I'm Norwegian and watched this series called "Buzz Aldrin" and most of the story was focused around Færøyene. Amazing place.

  • @Kidorid I dunno why people would be interested in the Faroes by anything else other than the landscape. It's pretty boring here in my opinion.

  • fallegur söngur

  • jú takk

  • Do Icelanders understand faroese and vice versa?

  • @ZaeroZ I don't know about Icelanders, but we on the Faroe Islands understand "Icelandish" pretty good hehe

  • This sounds just like the melody of "Jag vet en dejlig rosa"

  • eg eri føringur, ella føroyingur

  • Im from faroe island :) if you like mountains and cold weather, then i think u should go to faroe island

  • Fallegt!

  • Прекрасная песня! Обожаю народную музыку германских народов!

  • @mrstyril tú dugur ikki eingongd at stava føroyskt ! :b eg eri "føroysk."

  • there is something very special about Faroe islands and iceland which is very beautifull .

    with love from Montreal.Canada

  • I love that song!

  • I love the flutes in this song :) and everytime i hear it, i dream myself away to the faroes ^^ but i wonder, the woman that sings, is she really faroese? sounds to me like there's something different about the way she pronounces the "R", am I right? not that i'm an expert in faroese, i'm norwegian myself, but sounds to me like she has kinda like an... icelandic accent?

  • Annika Hóydal

    Hun er færøsk :)

    She is faroese :)

  • yeah you are right that is not how you speak normaly in faroe islands.

Faroese do not have icealndic sounding R. We have more like an american english sounding R :p

  • I'm Icelandic and I was also wondering :)

  • Nice video, I like the song, love the photos in the video.

I am proud of having Faeroes as our neighbors and proud of having you as my brothers and sisters

    Love from Iceland

  • Thanx for this video again! somebody know who sings here? or the name of the song? or something..

  • i m so glad you posted it again - i had it in my favourites and was shocked, when i couldn´t find it anymore....

it took me some time, to google the singers name and find out the name of the song. unfortunately you can´t buy the cd here. but now i can listen to the song again and watch the beautiful pictures. thanks!

  • Awesome song! As for the spelling, I have a small remark to make, although I am not a speaker of føroyskt... but as far as I know, they don't have "å" character. Night is "nátt", so definite form would be "náttin".

    Takk fyri!

  • Verse 2. Ferðist eg í millum landa I MAY travel MANY countries (real meaning) Síggi gleði sorg og stríð SEEING JOY, sorrow and WAR Men ein myndin bjørt man standa But one image WILL REMAIN CLEAR Ja har heima í tí dali Yes AT HOME in the valley (sounds better) Har alt grønt og vakurt er Where everything is green and FAIR (more poetic)
  • A very nice video.
