  • Don't believe that famous list that puts Batio as the #1 fastest shredder, CAUSE HE's NOT!! He's just flashy.His fingering positions are simple and predictable.Ask any experienced shred guitarist and they'll agree.And his finger dexterity is nowhere as nimble as Gilbert.The same goes to Malmsteen.He is more nimble, but sadly, MUCH more sloppy.He can't handle acoustic. Nor can he handle scalloped.He too is flashy. Gilbert is ULTRA CLEAN, the nimblest and the most complex fingering

  • oh my god dude your a fuckin genius. i cant believe you actually understand and think like me. ive been preeching this for the longest. paul has complex patterns and you forgot, HE DOES HUGE STRECHES!!!i think paul gilbert is the best shredder ever. only guy who can probably give him a run is jason. Have u noticed that he even shredds with very little distortion?

  • YES!!! THANK YOU FOR FINALLY AGREEING WITH ME GUYS! ALL OF U!!He does have some of THE most difficult patterns for your 'hands' to memorize.They're just SO complex. Batio's too predictable.Ask ANYONE who's tabbed Batio's songs, and they'll say how the only thing you really need to practice is to be able to PICK really fast.The patterns themselves are easy to memorize, only harmonic minor or pedal tones or simple scales. BATIO's SONGS R ONLY A COLLECTION OF RIFFS AND FAST SCALAR EXCERCISES!!!

    Now if you want some hellishly difficult fingering, do Paul Gilbert...or Jazz shred fusion:

  • True, super crazy. But live, he often (and I mean too often for a shredder), he gets sloppy. There are times live when he does things picture PERFECT, but there are also times when he is real sloppy. Sorry. But look at the "I know Youre here" G3 footage. Listen to the guitar intro when he's sitting down. LOTS of UNEVEN notes...and you know how notes are supposed to be even, unless your'e doing a grace note, ghost note or swell of some sort.

  • But other than that, he's got some of the most complex fingering. ESPECIALLY, when he goes into hand crossing mode. His 7-8 finger tapping is also AWSOM!
